AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 “Malta” Dual-Chip GPU on 22nd April (http://wccftech.com/amd-reportedly-launching-radeon-hd-7990-malta-dualchip-gpu-22nd-april/) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/pt87we9tu7u048m/AMD-Radeon-HD-7990-635x318.jpg Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. Probably bitcoin very well, on the other hand, how it looks for litecoin with the 7970's, who knows till they are released. Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. I think Malta is perfectly appropriate: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jonmatonis/2013/03/08/first-bitcoin-hedge-fund-launches-from-malta/ I'm even wondering if that was intended (tinfoil hat on) Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. Post by: MysteryMiner on April 12, 2013, 08:05:27 PM And I thought my HD7950 was overkill. In next few years HD9950 will make this dual-gpu card weak and obsolete. Remember GeForce 7950GX2 or HD3850x2 ?It is best card to have today. Or probably two of them in CF Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. Post by: Lethn on April 12, 2013, 08:32:44 PM I'm not that hardware savvy really :( lol :D I've only been learning about hardware more properly so I can fix my computers myself.

Essentially 2 HD7970s on one PCB with lower stock clocks. 2 would be only a bit behind quad 7970s and use less electricity. Serious heat output though. I will pick one of these up for personal use. I have been trying to get the powercolor non reference version of this card but it has been out of stock each time I check. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131483 Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. Yeah the power cooler one looks really cool. Although I don't see a reason why you would pay 1000$ for a dual gpu card when you can get better performance and cheaper by maybe 200$ by picking up 2 hd7970s. Unless you are PCI-E limited. I have this view because I mine AND game. Currently running 7970s x 2 and a HD7850. Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. Sometimes it is nice to have the best! I do have two pci slots in 'my' machine but I will consider getting two of these 7990's in the end after some time. I do only buy 3 different cards right now though, 7950, 7970 and someday 7990. Title: Re: AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 April 22, 2013. I guess it doesn't even compare to two 7970's in crossfire. But miners don't use crossfire for mining, I wish, hardocp would include mining power review on their reviews. Post by: BeneQ on May 08, 2013, 06:51:01 PM I'm using 7970 CF + 7950 in one of my PC , there is no problem with mining on CrossFire
and sometimes you can play BF3 ultra details 100FPS ;) . I just have ordered new 7990 , should be with me on Friday , what I know new models 7990 are taking less power than two Radeon 7970 in CF mode of course at the same clocks I mean . |
