What will happen now that bitcoin is under 1000, will it bounce back up from 940 or will it continue to spike down? Personally I believe it will continue to spike down a bit and slowly go back up, my guess would be 850-875 and from there it will stabilize.

Perhaps. That seems reasonable. Of course that will only be the short term movement - the long term I still see it move to fresh highs.

I'm sure you are right . I have a thought the same as yours. I'm waiting for the price of 800-850$ to buy again. But I think it will come back 1,050$ in next 24 hours. Do you know if is there anything bad coming?

I am of the same opinion. This is just a knee jerk reaction. Bitcoin will recover from this fall. Best time to add is now. Buy bitcoin as a long term investment. Other well established Alts looking attractive at the current price levels. You can add now slowly.

I think the lower price will cause panic selling and lower the price more as usual, i think it will trend down back to the $700 region within the next week or so, hopefully im wrong and the price will jump back and peak again

Bitcoin's price in my speculation is that it will continue to go down slowly in a few days from now but it will stop and start rising again, or stabilize on a price under 700$ so if you plan to buy now maybe delay it for later since the chance of it from rising again to above 1000$ this week or another or maye months from now is 50/50 so better wait for a better price than to regret it later.

Hopefully it will stabalize in ythe $800 to $950 range for a few months. It needs to get boring again.

the newbies aka weak hands were shaken out pretty good with this panic shakeout. there is a total of 140KBTC (excluding Chinese of course) volume right now! i don't think there is anybody left to panic and push the price lower :D

i don't think it will go down in $700 region that is too much unless there are some big issues in bitcoin like the mtgox in the past where it is the reason why btc price went down to around $200 AFAIK. with the current movement and without major issues i only think around $900 floor price this time and will continue to spike in the next few weeks.

As like there is no reason why it was going up and now same happening why it falling. It seems people are just taking profit into that correction phase. I hope this time we will be stable above $940.

I think next Floor will be around 500Dollars. The Problem is the Chinese Governence which will decide not to allow BTC anymore and to hurt users very much that are using btc.

Amazing thing is the Chinese Commies have allowed bitcoin price to rise so high, I was told they wouldn't, but sometimes Chairman Mao can be a bit shifty. I guess they've had enough, they will continue to crack down on bitcoins to stop their people from sending all their money abroad. This was an expected turn of events, do not get caught with your pants down. Sell now, we'll see $500 or even lower.

You know why price dropped to $200 back then? because difficulty wasn't as today, now the price will only drop to $650 if something like mtgox or whatever happens, but now with a new investors and mining farms you should hope for $900 and $980 in 2017.

If you cant sell because no one is allowed to buy you can have thousands mining farms and price will crash. The Market decides the Price not the Producer...

I guess you're right sort of when you said it will spike down a bit and then hike up. But I don't agree with the amount you choose as the stabilized price cos it going to stay at the range of $900-967.

I feel very shocked with bitcoin price. Just only more 10minutes, it reduces about 200$ .
I have lost 20% profit after that. it's ridiculous, Guy. That's so boring.

You should get to know bitcoin a little bit better, see what controls the bitcoin price and predict these things a little bit easier, with bitcoin you can lose and make a lot from the price changing and it can be very difficult some times because of it. Informing yourself is the difference between making money and losing money.

We bounce off of 900 and 1150 until one of them breaks.  I wouldn't be to quick to bet on breaking 900.

if you're that confused by this then maybe you shouldn't buy bitcoins in the first place ... ?

There is demand for btc from elsewhere though, India, Venezuela, and we don't yet know whether Europe is going to have another crisis, things arn't good under the surface.

I don't think it will go down to $500. I think the floor is $850.

Thats one thing why I will not keep all my resources in Bitcoin, simply because of the high volatility without any sign to that effect. Its being circulated around the forum that a fall is imminent because of how high it went but I am happy that the fall has not been too drastic to about $500 as predicted by the "prophets" and the price it is now, there is hope that it will recover.

You are new to this game. After a few more months, you will get used to.

Yes, last two days were typical bitcoin price level's swing actions just to get excit and to get scared.

Honestly I got practiced to experience these and just enjoyed this rally of ups and downs. Maybe the reason is I'm still confident that bitcoin prices are heading toward $1500 or even $2000 in very quick time like before the first quarter of 2017.

Cut your losses or wait a few years , bitcoin will go much lower i guarantee  :)

I think he is right, it is a good time to buy right now, its possible the price could continue to drop but in the long run I see bitcoin going much higher than this and you should profit from it either way.

The announcement came after they saw an abnormalities on the fluctuation of Bitcoin for the past days.  They even stated their previous prediction of 2013.  So probably this is one of the cost of Bitcoin price drop.

Anyway, I think bitcoin will recover after somedays.  This is probably the best time to take advantage of the lower price.

Over $1,000 wasn't even sustainable it seems like. It skyrocketed and a bubble was formed. It dropped a little bit, then people start panic selling. The psychological barrier of breaking 1k per coin is something to get through, and when it was broken, people hopped on the Bitcoin train thinking it was going to the moon right then and there. The jump was short lived as should've been expected.

bitcoin prices continue to decline when the current is very strong. I still do not understand any incident that could cause this. of course this will create chaos in the financial markets bitcoin.

The price has fallen beyond the level that most of the users predicted. Possibly this might take price towards the range of $750. From that once again the price might increase gradually with fluctuations happening often. Soon after this we won't be getting high price similar to that happened recently.

considering the price was nearly $800 before this spike started and also considering that price was extremely stable and strong with a slow snail-like rise, i can agree with your guess about $850-875 range to be the stable price of these days and then move up from there. maybe in 1-2 months from now.

when btc reached around the previous ATH i sold most of what little dust i had. good timing this time. now im looking for a good price to buy some again for cheap when this settles. meanwhile its time to earn some cheap coins thru various gigs here. good look to all

I posted in another thread about exactly this and the stabilizing point. I feel like it is going to be stabilizing around $700-$800, however. Right now it's at $825 and still decreasing, which indicates that I might most likely be right, assuming it doesn't keep decreasing (fingers crossed).

Now is the perfect time to buy buy buy! Bitcoins are on discount. This week only. We're crazy to let them go this cheap so get on the ticket to the moon while you can!!! I love a good dip because when we go back up I see big $$$.

That is correct, Guy. It must return under 500$ because of banning bitcoin in China. Chinese is holding nearly 90% of bitcoins in the world and Once the ban was enacted . Bitcoin market will be down deeply.

What are you talking about? China is not banned bitcoin, nor is planning to do so, as far as I am aware. Where did you hear this news?

I guess with your experience level you should already understand how pump and dump works. Bitcoin was pumped well beyond its current market value and now the prices are (quickly) coming back to the normal levels. Let's see where the bottom, also called the real market price, is. I guess we may see a retest of $700 soon.

They are not banning but they are regulating some conditions of using it and they are motoring on the cryptocurrency transactions that is why the users are getting afraid and that is the main reason for the decline, what ever it is always that when it reached the high and some bad news will follow and it will make the price down.

Well, this is a similar situation in 2013, bitcoin prices continue to decline when the price reaches $ 1000 price bitcoin. whether the price of $ 1000 is an unlucky number for bitcoin? i think we are not waiting to long to see more than $1,000 in this year because now the price is more than $11xx and will be increase more soon. but i am afraid if suddenly we are going to see the down trend in one or two months later, there will be many people and traders will shock to see the price. but if its really happen, then i think its a normal condition as the bitcoin price is always fluctuative and in the end, the price is always increase more than before.

Today the price of bitcoin has crossed $1000 level again and it will keep on moving up and down in coming days too and I don't think there is any thing to worry at all as this fluctuations will always be a part of bitcoin journey and it will recover the price pretty soon.

It is back above $1000. The $1000 is a conquered threshold, if it goes beyond it it wont last a while. I once said, $2000 mark this year may not be feasible but 1500 at the end of the year is sure. If it is growing steadily, it gets more reliable than a steep growth

It's nice of course that the price has gone over $1000 level, but we're still sitting in the same situation. I don't add much value to the price that has gone over $1000 again, because there is no support, and panic still isn't over. It takes a low number of coins to get the price to dive under $1000 again, and thus -- we're not save yet. Currently it's party time for day traders.

I think the coming weeks will be turbulent, which is why I decided to wait it out. Having some btc and some in altcoins, it's just a matter of time before the market will show a permanent direction.

While the panic is still going on, I think that Bitcoin has reached its short-term support level at around $1000 until the hard fork is imminent (as in within an expected week or so).  I think that most ordinary users are comfortable holding their Bitcoin.

People who have faith that price of bitcoin will recover again will prefer to hold their bitcoins without selling them at this stage and I think that is the right thing to do as if you sell them now it will not give you higher profits which can be possible in future if you hold till the price goes higher.

I can agree with that. If you look realistically at how the current situation is, then there is no (not yet) reason to panic, but we all know that panic and Bitcoin are two things that are firmly tied to each other. If you browse through various mainstream crypto related news sites, then they are basically not helping in calming down people with all kinds of flashy headlines to attract people to click on them. Situation as it is right now is over exaggerated.

yeah hold your bitcoin is much more better for the price of bitcoin when we hold our bitcoin then demand will increase and when demand will increase then bitcoin price will goes to more higher.
