Title: bit coin confirmations
Post by: sigmachi57 on January 06, 2017, 12:36:47 AM
I am somewhat new to the bitcoin world, but I have never had a transaction take this long. Its been over 8 hours and still not even one confirmation. Thoughts? 1ECJrv6EkSwMKJTHMLCQAu4HtBveaYijtn is the address.

This is the transaction you're talking about: https://blockchain.info/tx/1e57b9b39cd961c322059162d729cb79c65d8c38c84149fa4d7ac6d50aca40ce?show_adv=false

1. Low fee of 65 satoshis/byte instead of at least 101 satoshis/byte (0.0002272 as fee)

2. The amount of unconfirmed transactions at the moment:

are you able to decipher this for me? I understand that the fee is "low" but should it really take this long for that? seems crazy to me.

We're in the same boat.

I usually put a .001 btc fee but bloody blockchain.info set the fee as six cents so it's probably gonna take another few bloody hours to confirm. This happens so much these days. One bad quality of bitcoin.

As for yours, from experience, it looks like it should be confirmed within at least one to two hours.

No. No. No.

Sent this hours ago and bloody blockchain used .0002 as a fee. "1 block", they said.

Hours later and here we are. I recommend 0.0007 at least. (For now, anyway.)

You can try to speed up the TX by putting the TXID in here: https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ (https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/) (The ViaBTC mining pool will prioritize your transaction when making a block) However, there is probably a long queue there as well due to the many unconfirmed transactions. Next time you should use the fee that this site (http://bitcoinfees.21.co/) recommends.

Didn't know the website bitcoinfees.21.co. It's a good alternative. I always used www.bitcoinqueue.com but that one isn't working correctly anymore.

If the amount of unconfirmed transactions is 10k> I always use 30k fee and then its still very fast confirmed.

Oh. Thanks for this. I had no idea there was something like this available somewhere.
It should come in handy in case I ever have need.
By the way, do you know whether other mining pools do this as well?
If so, links please. Thanks!  :)

AFAIK ViaBTC is the only one :( However you can try to contact Quickseller (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=358020) or macbook-air (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=16114), they can help you with confirming txs.
