What version of windows? Was this from your own build of the client, or from a binary? Have you tried re-installing Bitcoin? There was recently released a new version: 0.3.23 - http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=16553.0 Did it work and then stop working, or is this a new installation? Windows Vista basic, i downloaded it from the home page. I have tried re-installing bitcoin. Still does not work on admin account. I did however try opening it as an admin in the guest account and it has worked. Also the bitcoin app does not install in the guest accounts or secondary accounts. Ok, so if it is truly a new installation and you have not used the wallet yet (nor given out any addresses), perhaps purging the databases and trying the installation yet again will work.
