Title: 7850 or 7870? Is the extra cost worth it? Post by: superarthur on April 12, 2013, 11:34:58 AM I am thinking of building a new rig for mining, but don't want to spend too much.
I am deciding between a 7850 or 7870. Of course the 7870 is faster, but is the extra cost worth it? On a side note, it'll be used for gaming as well. Would an i3 3220 CPU be enough? (My other option would be AMD FX 6300, but i3 is slightly cheaper with a cheaper B75 motherboard, with a lower power consumption) Thanks for your time reading my post. =] Title: Re: 7850 or 7870? 7870 is about £180, and 7850 is about £150, which is a 20% increase. But factoring in other costs, the % difference in price will be lower than that. Title: Re: 7850 or 7870?
