Title: Bytecoin Deep Sleep (This Is A Question)
Post by: MehdiBmm on January 10, 2017, 06:07:58 PM
Hi guys!

I discovered Bytecoin few days ago and I decided to mine it (because it's the only currency that I can get a great quantity of, 1000 Bytecoin/24h). The price is very low and I am just saving it for years to come maybe it will have a value then.

I want to know, is there a wallet based of secret phrase like Electrum Bitcoin? When you only have to memorise a series of 12 words and when you lose the application or hard drive you just have to install the wallet and type the words? I want to save my Bytecoin coins like that. Can you please suggest something?

Thanks!

Steer clear. Google for "bytecoin scam" and read the first link.

If you want Cryptonote technology go with XMR (or AEON or BBR) none of which have the 80% pre-mined feature that BCN comes with.

Oh man, it's the only currency I can mine a great deal of :( I am so disappointed.

What happened with bytecoin is the majority of the coins were mined by the developers, who then pumped up the price of their own coin, and then abandoned it. The price of bytecoin will probably stay roughly the same for a long time, I can safely say through my own experience that this applies to most CryptoNote coins.

Don't believe me? Go on coinmarketcap.com and see that the market cap is $7  million, while the 24h volume is $4,000.  :)

I had a similar experience with a cryptonote called dashcoin (ofc completely worthless lol).

Mine AEON, its supported by the same devs ad Monero and has good potential to do very well in the future. Bytecoin may have been the first cryptonote but they scammily released it with an 85% premine. I'm sure most of that is on the exchanges now but because of its shady start people will stay clear. You can mine AEON with CPU and GPU. If you find that you're not getting enough the best bet is to just buy some on the exchanges and hold them for a couple of years.

Just wondering, but what makes you support AEON apart from the all the anonymous Cryptonote features?
I've looked at quite a few Cryptonotes like DigitalNote in the past, but why?
As far as my knowledge goes, haven't practically all Cryptonotes except Monero fluctuated very little over the last 1-2 years (ignoring obvious pumps of course).

1 Million times 0 is still zero. ;)

I agree if you want to mine alot and hold then go for Aeon otherwise mine whats profitable and sell for XMR.

This is sad. I've bought quite many of them last year.

Just wondering, what made you buy them in the first place? (apart from being on minergate)
They've had a dodgy reputation for a while, a dead community and extremely low volumes.
The price is always gradually going down as well.

Beside this reason is the very large data base that you need to download,it took me a week trying to sync their wallet but it keeps resetting I already add a lot of nodes but no success, since there are lot of coins around with good potential than bytecoin I did not proceed syncing it anymore.

Was not Bitcoin on this state for so much longer and then it becamed what it becamed ? Well the project loks like abandoned  but some can pick it up anytime isnt it ?  Looks like it get worth for POS transactions confirmations for example adn i think thats is valuable on long term since some one discovery it potential . . .

Even after the allegued pum and dump price by creators . . . the technollogy in it self looks like so ro more advanced then tradition bitcoin isnit ?
