That's a good news to hear bitcoin in the top position among the tech trends list, eventually following tech advancements too getting popularity. Virtual reality is in the boom, and soon smart homes will make evolution. The reason is that people were not able to maintain their own homes. But bitcoin as a virtual currency gaining popularity is something that's not easy because its not similar to those other tech objects. It doesn't have the commodity state.

It feels so great to hear this after many times having been disappointed about negative news about bitcoin. It's clearly a proof of the fact that people are paying more attention to bitcoin and changing their point of view and making decisions that they thought they would never do. Thing are changing and we can't be sure about anything but one thing I can say bitcoin will have a brighter future.

This means a lot honestly :D It's not just that everything has changed and bitcoin is really making a significant change in the economic world but this also an evidence for the real power of bitcoin for those who always keep in their head a thought that bitcoin is totally a scam. Bitcoin being #1 will persuade those negative thinkers and by doing that, bitcoin is making its way to further success.

That is a good news for the bitcoin ecosystem, the trend to reach the mainstream and the average joe is almost there. The bitcoin blockchain has proved to works well and will be applied to others sectors like finance, healthcare and not just limited to store value.

I think mainstream popularity is the enemy of btc.
When news talk about btc normal people come to buy some just in case. It makes the peice going up without getting real adopters... they're juste here to make money :'(

Bitcoin is really getting a lot of attention after the $1000 hike, even mainstream media are talking and explaining bitcoin. I don't know if mainstream adoption of bitcoin would be good thing for bitcoin, but a little popularity is not bad.

It's great news, bitcoin beat VR. Actually it's obviously, if we digest recently and latest news about bitcoin development and even have get involved the government. Especially can solve economic problems.

The possibility of a money being stored on the internet could not be possible in the past, and I myself has been very shock and interested when I first learn about it in the year 2010, and in technical approach has devolved into a heated debate. Emotionally charged disputes on Reddit and Twitter with censorship and personal attacks have divided the community, said in the one source that I have read, I think it is very fit for bitcoin having the number 1 spot in the tech trends. so congratulations to us!

Great! Good to see that Lifehacks is almost a decade late. However, better late than never, I guess.

That is another big step for bitcoin to be promoted widely. This kind of promotion is what bitcoin needs and hopefully this will be a trend on social media. If more people purchase bitcoins even in the smallest amount it will still add up to the price increase in bitcoin. Bitcoin needs a price increase more than ever, it is the only way for bitcoin to survive on the incoming dump.

This is what id like to say on how bitcoin beat those drones and smart homes which they do really different in category and as you said its just a random list in my own opinion but well glad to see that its on the top list and i saw they are already behind on the bitcoin trend. ;D

Bitcoin should be the top one. I saw bitcoin on every news. Lifehack.org is new to me. But its great because they recognize bitcoin as the most trending technology. Then suddenly it drops drastically to $750+. The faster the pump. The faster they dump. We are back again at the price way back september. Bitcoin is really unpredictable. I guess we are going to wait again for about weeks to recover.

One of the best news I read in entire day, it was only a matter of time that this would happen. Bitcoin deserves it a lot. It has helped so many people and so many people have become rich thanks to it. It is the best and I love it. Hopefully it will break more records this year.

I'm happy to see bitcoin first on this list. The people from lifehack are aware of the potential that stands behind bitcoin so respect for that. I mean come on..the blockchain technology has so many applicabilities on many niches and in the first row it is a huge innovation for financial institutions which are now actively studying and developing it.

Good to see bitcoin covered up on lifehacks, seems like 2017 is the year of bitcoin, after all these years bitcoin finally touch 1000 dollars again even though the price was down but today it's up slowly but sure. However i just can't believe bitcoin can beat other technlogies like, vr, drone and smart home it must be due to the price was skyrocket.

That's what i was thinking, more speculators just came to bitcoin for buy them and hold untill they rich then dump the price, they dump as fast as possible to get their fiat out, so rarely see people use bitcoin as currency.

Its really good to see such positive things about bitcoin. Before a few days when i opened Google Search in my smartphone, there when you open the app downside the search you will see trending news, and i have seen 2 bitcoin related news in there which made me so happy to read them. It is just like hearing about something that is yours on the news.

it's very good news. I am sure, will be very much an article or news that will appear carrying the name of bitcoin. I also feel that this year, bitcoin give a different effect than in previous years. I believe, that bitcoin will become the number 1 of all currencies. and it will begin on the Internet.

I think the list is perfect. Bitcoins is the most disruptive technology. Drones are still a long way from actual practical use i.e. deliveries. VR is very popular but still long way from practical use i.e. building digital schematics that are 3d printed in real time. It's for entertainment purposes now. Smart homes and driver-less cars are the future but still a long way out.

Bitcoin is the only thing that is practical and available to everyone right now.

That is great. Finally, Bitcoin is rising in popularity and getting recognition. I can see the effect of this with the recent price boom. I hope Bitcoin continues to grow and expand.

Really the fact that bitcoin is changing the values of it's people prediction into good way, now days many people are keep commenting on bitcoin bitcoin is not volatile currency yes but the technology is completely different other currencies like fiat. Yup! they would love reading trending things now a days and all of the other techs that trends on the list bitcoin is the only not that popular and is very difficult to understand of all, well I think that people now would think twice what is bitcoin really is and they would have a time in really understanding and taking knowledge about it because the number one spot is not just a fluke!

What I mean is that people only bringing money to buy and try to tread in btc aren't really what I'm looking for.
Those people will mostly lose their money.. .Seeing massive panic crashes.
Of course traders will earn a hell ton of money, but I'm not a trader ^^

Bloackchain technology will find many usage in various industry, especially in retail / banking / payment industry. This year will see many blockchain applications come into play, which will change foundations of many industries.

This is great, it means that bitcoin is being talked about, even if not a lot of persons have any yet, this could be the beginning of mass adoption or at least I hope so.

After thinking about it , I guess this is not really a serious article and the fact that they spoke about BTC wallet instead of other known wallets such as Blockchain.info or even coinbase makes me think that Its a sponsored article .

Lifehack.org is not exactly a well respected mainstream media outlet. They are kind of a campy, technonerd version of a popular mechanics magazine. Any media attention Bitcoin gets that's positive is good. However, their comparisons lead me to believe they know absolutely nothing about Bitcoin and are using the word "bitcoin" to simply be edgy, trendy, cool.

And Bitcoin made it onto the front page of the 'Business & Finance' section of the Wall Street Journal once again

We're lucky we had that bubble once again which bursted after $1189. That made Bitcoin go all over the news and people are starting to get interested in it: my grandfather (which doesn't even understand how to change a TV channel when you give him a new remote, or doesn't know how to send an SMS) called me and asked me if I have heard of "that currency that passed $1000 last night", which is a surprising thing. I never spoke to him about Bitcoin.

You know that is what makes us think positive about bitcoin when people who are never told about it starts talking about it or ask others if what it actually is. Before this i never heard about bitcoin anywhere without searching about it but after now when the price touched $1k i saw it everywhere.

Many doubted Bitcoin in the first time they heard it, dated back in 2010 Bitcoin is just laughble that time and there are plenty of naysayers about it. At the beginning of 2017 Bitcoin price almost hit 1200 and even overtakes gold price before the mid year. This event made bitcoin popularity to grow, even a classmate of mine ask about it because of his liked FB pages that popped a link about bitcoins price hike. This is good news, this is a big step, and a top trend at the beginning of the year.

I seconded since the informations are not too elaborated and i can feel that they are just going on the flow.I dont know if i would be glad or not on that article afterall but knowing about bitcoin its included really on the list no matter what ranking but seeing on the order its too unbelievable for me. hahah

You can't explain it as it is total FUD. Over the years Bitcoin network is matured enough to be free from random dumps.
We reached ATH during PBoC investigation of Chinese top exchanges, we are enduring scaling drama and highest bitcoin fees ever.
Yet we have Bitcoin's price constantly topping the charts. There won't be anymore idiotic dumps caused by baseless speculation.

What kind of dump are you expecting, or are you a bearish trend lover and tend to move the markets on your side by making negative comments?
Bitcoins have nothing to do with their price to be in trends, but it is something self-explanatory to its users as to why it has itself become a trend since the past 7 years and still attracting a lot more users everyday towards itself.

From what i understand is that majority of the users are minors and students who are less than thirty years of age but the people who really knew and understand what the white paper said they would really take note and stand behind it because of the technology behind it rather than the monetary gains.
