Title: That was not a bubble "burst"
Post by: alcibiades on April 12, 2013, 10:25:26 PM
The bubble is still on. The hype cycle is still on. The market didn't stop rising because investors suddenly headed for the exit, like in a classic bubble. It stopped rising because the high market activity crashed the main exchange. Don't compare this to previous financial bubbles because there has never been something like this.

And strap yourself in for bubble #3. Watch out for the Gox!

Possibly so. But let's not discount the possibility of this mini-rally being a bull trap as well. The price is hovering around 100 USD but understandably the market's more skittish now. Red candles may provide some timely buying opportunities, however; I think the future for bitcoin is bright.

… also don't forget the mtgox discount. still a lot will try to make more of what they have sitting there. this is by no means a sustainable situation.

I think you are right.

It's become common knowledge MtGox have been having lag problems for some weeks now, people will blame that for their losses and remain hopeful, they will not learn the lessons that should have been learned.

And since everyone that got out at the high will still have fiat in their accounts, I suspect they will be drawn into the current rally looking for more gains and it's going to continue to shoot back up. A frenzy will occur despite the obvious.

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#tgCzm1g10zm2g25

so far it looks like the previous plop: dramatic drop, small recovery from lows

from there it slowly kept on going down

my best guess: either buy right now or wait 6 weeks, in a couple months btc will reemerge in the media, also more and more vc investments and traditional funds are working on getting on this

so definitely will load up < 3mos
