as title says.. my money has been offline for nearly 3 days now.. and i have my monero stored there.. how do i retrieve them? i am a noob so i read around to create a new wallet doing coding or whatever.. but i don't understand anything.. how can i move them without being able to access mymonero maybe using another wallet? i have the seed the 12 characters for mymonero website.. how do i access them? any imput is always appreciated, thanks. Post by: pereira4 on January 13, 2017, 07:43:13 PM It seems a lot of people are having problems accessing mymonero.com today, there is another thread with a potential suggested solution I think, but the moral of story is... never use online wallets, it's a gamble, one day you wake up and the damn wallet doesnt work. What's the point of crypto if you depend on a website again.

Web wallets are better than exchanges since you are largely in control of your own keys, but aren't as reliable or secure as running your own node. I've got a tiny amount of XMR on mymonero.com - just tried https://xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html and I had no problem creating a new wallet using the 13 word recovery. If you have a lot of funds on mymonero.com and don't want to trust a website with your keys (understandable) then here's another option. If you have the storage space and bandwidth, it's better to run the full GUI wallet from the main website - getmonero.org. Mymonero should really only be used for spending money. |
