Title: [Bitcointalk.org] Phishing Attempt
Post by: OmegaStarScream on January 14, 2017, 03:09:08 PM
Someone contacted me using the P.M saying that he replied to me (while I noticed that he had no posts on his profile).

URL he posted redirects to a random page from FortuneJack thread on the forums (If you copy and paste it) , If you click on it then you get redirected to Bitcointaik.org where It asks you to type your username and password and claim that the session has expired.

I have reported the P.M to Admin but I thought I should let you guys know just In case you receive it as well.

That's why admin introduced green colour when you hover over a bitcointalk link. If it doesn't becomes green then it will show the normal link colour. Just report him to moderator or staff of the forum.

Seems like someone playing nasty  :(

Oh wow that's a pretty sneaky way to go about it. Good for you for noticing and thanks for the post. I'll have to be more careful than I currently was.

Left them a negative feedback and contacted Lauda, as the user is a newbie (or rather "brand new").
This should be sufficient reason for nuking the account.

Done.

My anti virus blocks that page,I think it already been reported as a phising site,so if you are using karspersky and Bitfender it will automatically blocked that page,so be sure to use a powerful anti virus that block phishing site,to secure your bitcointalk account..

I use MicroSoft security essentials and it does the same.I think it's not the Anti-virus but the google chrome that blocks reported (not certified) SSL's with a obvious warning,Phishing Site Ahead.
