Title: Celebrating TRC Revival We will run TRC games at a loss this Weekend
Post by: SRoulette on April 13, 2013, 03:34:39 AM
Firstly thank you to the brave miners who soldiered on to solve those blocks for the rest of us, it shows your commitment to terracoin is not about personal profit.

Secondly, We look forward to seeing a more robust ASIC bombing resistant sha256 based coin being publicly used and tested, We feel this is an issue bitcoin itself will eventually face when it has heavier and malicious competition.

Now, as a treat for you Terracoiniers our Roulette Jackpot is active.

To show our own commitment each time a jackpot is claimed this weekend on Terracoin we will bump another games jackpot to its active level.
We will monitor this thread closely, feel free to suggest the next games jackpot for us to bump.

Basically we will be running the house at a loss this weekend for Terracoin in order to boost morale for the community.

Good Luck !

is trc still alive after all that?  damn it can really take a beating.  what's the word on it?  is it working, is it going to have a revival?

Is there a place where we can see the payouts for all of the bets? I see that it's supposed to be a 119% return on single numbers for max bets, but what return do I get on a bet of 10 trc if I hit the jackpot? By my math it should be a win of a bit over 440 trc, is that correct?

Things do seem rather shaky atm to be honest.
There has been quotes from the dev that remain uncontested that he has given up and abandoned the project and if people did not mine to fix it he was not going to continue development.

It does seem like scrypt is seeming like the better and better choice for new altcoins not wishing to be used and abused by powerful asic's, though PPC apparently has come through this unscathed due to Sunny Kings innovations on the difficulty adjustments.

Yes indeedy :)

Take Roulette 01 (http://satoshiroulette.com/game-info.php?game=roulette-01&mode=TRC) for example.

All our games can be viewed this way, for ease of use you can click on the games name/icon in the log and it will open the game's info page.

Not only that, even if an ASIC has >51% of the hash power on the PPCoin chain it still can't perform a computational attack because PPCoin relies upon proof of stake. Even if the ASIC has 99% of the hash power it shouldn't matter.

I guess I'm still a bit confused, in that I don't see anything that states what a max bet win on the single numbers bet will return. I see the 119% return, by which I can calculate that a bit over 44 should be returned (1.19 * 37), but I don't see anything that explains this.

My guess would be that they are just doing auto jackpots.  You are eligible for the jackpot only if you bet the max bet.

Thanks! I guess I still don't know how those work either and don't see anything about jackpots in the FAQ. Oh well.

From The main page:
Quote
When greater than 50 TRC the Jackpot is Active and can be collected.
The Jackpot is collected by Any Max Bet that Lands on '0'.

I guess I'm still a bit confused, in that I don't see anything that states what a max bet win on the single numbers bet will return. I see the 119% return, by which I can calculate that a bit over 44 should be returned (1.19 * 37), but I don't see anything that explains this.

Looking here:
http://satoshiroulette.com/game-info.php?game=roulette-00&mode=TRC

We see that landing on 0 pays your bet x 36.

(10 TRC x 36 payout multiplier) + Jackpot of 77.54125968 TRC = 437.54125968 TRC.
Assuming a full round is played with all results occurring once we also need to factor in the jackpot donations of 1%
(36 losing results x max bet 10) * 0.01 = 0.36.
437.54125968 + 0.36 = 437.90125968 TRC
Total Bets for a round 37 * 10 TRC = 370 TRC
Total rounds payout 437.90125968 TRC / 370 TRC = 1.1835169180540540541

1.1835169180540540541 * 100 = 118.35%
