Title: BitcoinTalk Freelancers how do you transact your service payments
Post by: layoutph on January 16, 2017, 02:04:43 AM
I'm planning to push my freelancing in the next few weeks from now. May I ask my fellow freelancers, how do you transact with your customers in this forum?

How do you send your final files? Do you have 3rd party escrow sites, any recommendations? How about real escrow people? Who are the reliable ones?

Thank you in advance.

Almost everyone on the forums is using this list for escrow : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 In addition to a few members such as ranochigo , shorena etc... since the list is no longer being updated as the OP is inactive.

If you really want a smooth transaction with forum members then Its always recommended to use an escrow from the forums and not a third party ones.

Escrow is very simple , the buyer send the funds to the escrow , you (the seller) give your project to the buyer , If the project meets what he asked for then the escrow will release the funds. You should make sure to have terms of services so you don't have issues in your transaction. (how much revisions you would give to your program/design and stuff like that)

You can use escrow in your first batch of deals but after you get testimonials and good feedbacks from your past and existing clients, new clients  can just pay you directly without using an escrow ,this is to save a fee ..

Be as transparent as possible you have a good offer and you don't want negative feedback.

Hey there

You need an escrow mainly for your first transactions.
Once you get a few reviews from satisfied custommer, unless amounts are very high it won't be needed.

Take escrows on the forum, they're well known by everyone and no one will be afraid of scams ;)
And don't hesitate to send first to highly trusted accounts, they have far too much to lose to scam you ^^

There is xbtfreelancer.com which is freelancer.com alternative for bitcoin niche you can try them to offer your freelancing services.
I have also involved in freelancing before and i will suggest to use 3rd party site like i have mentioned above to stay safe from getting scammed by employer.

Mate, escrow is the best thing to do with that so you can avoid to those who want to scam you work. But when you are working in some person repeatedly I guess, it is okay then to trust, feedback is much needed on that.

Just be aware of scammers. You can also have a 50/50 arrangement, let them pay you half of the price agreed and the half is when it is done and ready to send. Do not pay in full without some sort of escrow atleast.
