I just want to point out to everyone there is scammer on these forums that keeps changing his username and posting the same deal on gift cards.  I started this topic because if I leave comment on his thread, he keeps deleting it.  He uses the same format to advertise, see the posts below for examples.  All links to buy gift cards goes to Hexpay and under same seller on there as sir.morninglight.  He will not send you any gift cards after the money been cleared or he will send you bogus gift card number.  


What happened: Saw his post regarding gift cards at 50-60% off and bought one ebay gift using the HexPay links provided in the post.  Received bogus gift card number that did not work.  Contacted the seller multiple times and he did not respond back

Be VERY careful. Force seller to use escrow or else don't trust.

Giving this a bump, he is active everyday in the digital goods section

rottenfruits seems to be banned, and jackshephard seems to be using the same thread. It looks like a clear case of ban evasion to me. Mind telling me or providing me with proof of the user scamming? I may have missed something here.

You should always thread carefully with people who are self-moderating and selling these goods. I find it acceptable with some senior members with known trade history, but definitely not with fresh ones (such as the case with rottenfruits).

He has most likely scammed in the past, however, the biggest offense this user is committing is selling gift cards that are obtained through fraudulent means.  In this case it seems he is most likely using stolen credit cards to purchase them.

Take a look at his threads.  $200 gift cards for $80. He claims to be getting them from refunds  ..nice even 50, 100, 200 amounts...haha

He's scammed several people but the only fraud he's committing is selling non-existent crap on these autobuy links. Digital Goods is rife with them. People shouldn't get greedy and think they're getting a good deal because they just get bitten.

Here is what I received in the email (this is from rottenfruits) and you can see on there he goes by sir.morninglight on hexpay as the seller, same one from jackshephard post (when you click his hexpay links to buy the gift cards) :

sadly most of newbies falls for these scams
I think the forums should atleast not allow to create multiple accounts from same IP and block all proxies/VPNs

Since he still have those listing as active on here.   Just warning to all before you do any business with him.

AFAIK both of the accounts were banned promptly after I had reported them. He also created at least 1 more account IIRC and that one got banned as well.

THIS HAS TO BE THE SAME PERSON. SAME TYPE OF TITLE EVERYTHING.

JUST PURCHASED A ITUNES CODE FROM THE HEXPAY AND WAS A RANDOM CODE FOUND ON THE WEB.

This guy has scammed me by selling me a photoshopped $200 itunes for US and when i tried it, it was a mexican card with $9 worth only in USD while i paid $110 for it  >:(

Correct. The user in question has had several accounts already banned. Who knows how many more they have. I've given them a negative rating, but it is also possible that they're already banned.

Do not go with 'too good to be true' offers without escrow.

Unless you know the person and have conducted business face-to-face, you should avoid buying any gift cards from these forums. It should be banned entirely really. 99% of the time they will be a scam and it's very unlikely you will get lucky with the 1% that is not a scam.

I found out the these marleybob sellers (alias) uses the same format, and has several other users names "vouching" for him.
