I Am writing a study paper about bitcoin BTCBTCBTCBTCBTC , so can you all tell me how much bitcoin do you have & where do you store them ( online wallets OR own computer )  ?

I doubt members will tell you how much bitcoin they really own.

I only have very few bitcoins in my wallet. Some of my bitcoins, I store on online wallet so I can easily spend them when I need to. Some I store on my PC intended for long term investment.

If I may ask, what aspects of bitcoin you are writing and why do you need to know our bitcoin balance?

I dont understand what purpose will it serve to you as the bitcoin balance of most of bitcoin users keep changing.
For many like me,it is different every week as I get my signature payments.Similarly those involved in trading,keep selling and buying bitcoin and many other like to invest in other cryptos.
So on it keeps changing.
My current bitcoin balance is 0.1 btc and I keep it on online wallet

Look in my profile, check my wallet.  That's all I have,  which is less than $20 worth.   I just spent some buying silver coins and some pharmaceuticals.  And I rarely spend them.

For me i have small amount of bitcoin honestly. but i am not saving it in online wallet not a good idea right now to put our bitcoin in not safe online wallet..  that is why i stay at electrum wallet since 2 years i use their wallet and i never experience any problem.
For safety you can use bitcoin-qt for lite version electrum but you should also install antivirus like kaspersky total security that protecting any cryptocurrency..

I have 9999999 BTC and I store them in my pocket... Jokes aside, don't assume you can get slightly meaningful results asking this here, this way. You'd have to find a way to make it anonymous, which is really hard via internet (and even in person). If you're making a survey for a study, think about doing it in a Bitcoin community or gathering/meetup, you'd get more valid answers this way.

If you would search, you can find many similar topics. And mostly people don't want to share their financial situation in public. I can say that I keep my bitcoins divided into desktop wallet and few online wallets. I think, it's not safe to keep all bitcoins in one wallet and it doesn't matter type of wallet and all safety measures.

<1 Bitcoin right now, in fact, if I remember correctly, even under 0.1. I really don't have a lot of Bitcoin in my wallet right now, and the amount I do is worth less than $100 USD. Considerably less last I remember.

Looking for some good deals in the future, or another buy-in in case the value decides to take off again. Just gotta bide some of my time.

Are you doing some research how much bitcoins people have? My current situation is less then 1 at the moment and I'm not satisfied with this. I will try to acumulate more during this year and make some savings. It's not going to be easy but I'll do my best, it's always good to have some extra coins.

You might get more answers by making some sort of google document or online survey.
Many members are not going to reveal how many coins they have or the method they use to store them.
Personally I would never actually discuss my holdings because its far too easy to link this account to my actual identity.

I practically do not have bitcoins because as soon as I get some coins I invest them in many other things since I like to move my money to multiply it instead of holding it idly.

I try to keep my total Bitcoin balance a secret. All I want to say is that I have 1 Bitcoin in a hot wallet, to spend on treats and little things. I keep these on a Ledger HW.1, a portable cold storage device.

The rest is in a dedicated cold storage setup.

Yeah telling how much bitcoin you own can make you a potential victim for hackers.I've not a lot but i feel not safe to say even though they are stored offline.

I have 0.1++ bitcoin as of now in my 2 wallets .that's my 2 weeks income from signature campaign,  trading and investing in ICO. I stored my bitcoin in online wallet like blockchain and coins.ph because it is the safe wallet for me. Before I trust in coinbase but last week they have an issue so I transferred all my bitcoin in coinbase to my others wallet.  But if coinbase resolve the issue  I'm Willing to transfer again my bitcoin .  I don't use offline wallet in computer yes it is safe but what if the computer is error or damage or memory is reset my bitcoin is gone or loss that my friend said.

as you know most of politics and governmental agency's are connected with bank and your balance. i am writing about why more and more people using bitcoin ( even thru it can loose its value over night ) but the thing is people trust a anonymous P2P system more then the country government

You don't have a balance. This isn't a bank account. If you want to know how many inputs at what value we're in control of then ask it, but don't use your dirty fiat terminology.

100% WRONG. To all the newbies reading this bullshit you can just ignore it. What's more secure, never having your private key on a system with no internet thus 0 chance of being hacked, or keeping your coins on an exchange or online wallet that will get hacked at some point.

Again, bitcoins aren't fiat. You aren't talking about online banking here. Ffs google blockchain.info hacks or coinbase hacks. Don't take my word for it. They are by far the least secure way to secure your bitcoins. Don't be a fool.

Lol. Can please tell us first why do you need that kind of information for your study paper? I just can't understand how it will help .
And not all people are willing to tell you how much they have for security reasons . Are you planning to do some kind of survey? Then these information are quite delicate you might wanna revise it . And again please explain it throughly cause the way you said it is kind of fishy that's why you don't have a decent response from most people .

Why can't you make a poll for this, instead of each users telling you specifically the amount they have and where they actually store their BTC. For me, I won't release such information to a newbie account.

I also think same. what benefit we shall get if we disclose our BTC balance here. Maybe OP looking for rich BTC holders and then might contact them privately for some investments etc.  If that is the case, OP shall disclose before so that only interested people shall disclose their balances.

Instead of creating a poll, continuing with the thread is good. The reason is that users will explain how they worked to earn the amount within their wallet. At the same revealing these too helps people to try hacking the largest holders.

In last 2 weeks i have 0.1BTC but now i only have 0.03 because i cashed out it because i need a money for my tuition fee for my college study and now i working hard and looking for bitcoin business because next month im going to pay tuition fee for my studies again.

My current balance in Bitcoin is, sadly, close to nil at the moment.  :'(
I have recently sold most of my coins during the $1120 high, so, I'm running low right now.
Haven't gotten the chance to buy some yet. I'll probably start earning/buying/saving by next month.

As for where I store it, I usually have some small amounts on web wallets and some on either paper or desktop.

None as of now. Learning to make some btc and make a investment in it. Guide me though some ways to make btc in current scenario.

I saved BTC in site exchanger (poloniex and bittrex) for trading profitable for me so I think it would be simple to transact and if I need fiat I convert it to localbitcoin

My current balance is < 1BTC I am going to hold on to it and add to it whenever I can. No plans to sell off BTC's.

Just a suggestion dude, don't too much store your bitcoin in the exchanger wallet because I think it's unwise. Even the famous exchanger and legit though. Because we do not know what will happen with these exchangers, because any time this legit exchanger can make your money disappear in an instant. Better to use your own wallet and if you need for trading so sent to the exchanger wallet. Thank you

For the time being my bitcoins I keep the desktop in a wallet application. I might consider buying a hardware wallet if I have too many bitcoins.

But unfortunately I can not tell you how much bitcoin is in my wallet. No one here inexpressive the amount of BTC that he has.

thats big and well long term trading strategy that really works soon! well the price of bitcoin now is pumping again so we could say that if you bought btc when it is in $800 then sure profits. But i think you should spend some of it in trading so that  you can earn a lot bigger for the future

Bitcoin is not distilled, contains anywhere. Simply store the key to to transform information into different address

Ok, first about amount of Bitcoin. It is nearly impossible to reach any study with someone Bitcoin holding at particular point of time. Well, my Bitcoin balance continue to fluctuate every hour. I nearly process 15-20 transactions every day.

Then coming to wallet, it can be effective study. You should have used poll for this. Well, I have seen this question earlier too. Search for it.

As other members said there that no one would really give you exact info about there coin for security purposes because if they tell that they are holding huge amounts then hackers and scammers will go to that person. In my own wallet i dont have too much bitcoin on it since i do actively using it to exchange it to fiat.

Currently i had 0.2 bitcoin, i got them from trading and gambling. and i store them in xapo which it's an online wallet.
I think, if you make a poll for this, peoples can have some privacy.  and you can get more informations.

I do not have any now this week as I give it to my Wife to purchase assets. She tried day trading but it is not for her she said so we will just continue investing in BURST and NXT assets to grow a passive income there as and when we earn Bitcoin.

My current balance in bitcoin is 0.06 bitcoins. It was 0.4 last week but it has reduced to a much smaller amount. If only I didnt needed money for my family I have enjoyed another increase in bitcoins value. I store my bitcoin on exchangers and web wallets. Currently I have belonged more than $200 US as value of bitcoins.There many multiple sources of my income so i like to call revenue programme,gambling,trading,sig campaign,buy-sell business etc.All of my earning balance are stored in mycelium wallet.

My current bitcoin balance is 0.27 btc. I have stored it in my electrum wallet in my pc.You are given a seed during registration which can be used for recovery when your pc gets repair or you forget your password. I invest some of them in altcoins for trading and once trading is completed, i transfer it to my wallet. I suggest you to not store your bitcoins in any exchanges.You could have heard about Mt.gox exchange which was hacked and lots of people lost their investments.

Really a paper on how much Bitcoin one has the latter part I am sure the people will answer. Why would you ask such a question also. I remember a similar thread being created wonder if it's a alt account? I won't reveal the no of coins, but you could use wallets coinbase.com, xapo. But I yet feel one should not ask such questions or should any one reply to this threads.

I am new on Bitcointalk. So I can't earn more. But I still trying to create more BTC. Now my total earning on Bitcointalk is 100$. I believe that my earning will increase from next month. Best of luck to you and your Study Paper.

How would my (or anyones) wallet balance help you in your study paper about Bitcoin? It would be relistic if you asked for something about Bitcoin or anything, it isns really hard to get that you are just posting for a rank or something. Atleast make it a good post even if you are spamming.

My current balance is 0.015 BTC. Yes, that is almost nothing I know. I cash out my bitcoin earnings once a month, it's just like a salary to me, because of today I haven't work and bitcoin is the only money that I have. So this money that I have now is the only that I could make for 6 days.

Its great to know that you are earning a living from bitcoins and earning it on regular basis, and you should thank bitcoins that its helping you in your life and you don't have to depend on your family for your expenses, for me bitcoin is still a part time and don't have much balance yet in my wallet but may be in future I would manage to have some good amount of bitcoins.

If this is a survey then just looking at the blockchain won't determine the number of Bitcoin each individual have. Using a poll is a good idea but it limited to certain answers so it will be ranges from this to that.  I do not mind people asking about the member's bitcoin as if they can steal it. But then without any proof this survey can have errors.  If someone said his owning a bitcoin, he should say the address holding it and sign on that address but then again those in the exchange can't sign it.  So the purpose of the survey failed. except for the storing part.

I have 1 btc at a moment as I cash out rest all my bitcoins when price crossed $1k in past few weeks as I bought my bitcoins when price was $250 in the past so it was giving me huge profits so without thinking twice I went for it and will wait for the price drop to accumulate some more bitcoins for the future.

What kind of research and study paper is this  ??? . I have more than BTC20 stored away in different exchanges and i am very much active in trading and when ever i am taking a break from trading i will be withdrawing everything to my offline wallet as i do not want to risk my coins .

Now my current bitcoin balance is around 0.1 btc i keep it on my bitcoin wallet at blockchain.info . On blockchain safe enough and easy using i think. As additional i usually collecting bitcoin by join signature campaign, keep my payment every weeks from sign camp and sometimes i change btc to fiat for buy a goods.

I have about 10 Bitcoin and I am happy about that. I have obtained 10 Bitcoin in a year for doing varous kinds of job including gambling and trading. Trading is very profitable since I have earned more than 5 Bitcoin from it. If you are a quick learner and a patient one, you should join trading because It gives a great opportunity of earning to all of us

I'm using an online wallet but only available in my country. It is safe. It does not cost you transaction fees. I have around 0.04 btc there right now. I don't know why they don't charge us any fees maybe because they monopolized the bitcoin in my country and they could have so many means to get profit.

Hello i have bitcoin about 1 BTC on online wallet and the other coins on market of poloniex
because they be used for trading altcoins.

I don't have any problem telling folk my BTC. IF they can get into my bank's safety deposit box and the paper wallets...well then best to let them

95btc then thats alot actually for me and you are good to have that amount of bitcoin.No one would really get that coins from you :) In my situation i didnt hold even 1 whole bitcoin which is really sad because i do actively spend my bitcoin anytime i earn it.

For now, I only have 0.006 because I cashout some by loading others. I usually store my BTC in online wallets and it's secure also but the most secure wallets is cold wallets so now, an hour ago, I research for cold then I found Mycelium. And then I transfer my BTC from online to cold wallets. And I'm using mobile wallet.

I have near 1BTC, 0.50BTC is in exchange platform so that i can trade alts and remaining in paper wallet. Have some bitcoins <0.10BTC in blockchain.info web wallet.

Better you create a google form and ask other to fill it, it will be easy for you to collect data for your study.

I store them by converting them to fiat because I find it difficult to buy something via bitcoin here. but I ever buy a thing by bitcoin. only 3 or 4 times via online.

I can tell you my sum, because it is not really big. I have 0.1btc now. I just don't hold my btc, I spend it, that's why the sum is small. I store them in online wallet, because it is free and I trust the security system with all there passwords and confirmations I have to make every time. Good luck with your paper!

You should create a survey form(google it) or something to take response, no one in their right mind will tell you exactly how much bitcoins they own.

Keep calm, my friend. At least reading your post you can put aside all signature campaigns from your available options; I am not so sure that any of them may be willing to give you a chance. But you still can work hard to purchase all the bitcoins you want.

I have 10 bitcoins lol, will keep it for long time. I think bitcoin is in ascending phase and it will go much higher. Every day there are new services and websites that accept bitcoins, so keep them long term.

i have .2 bitcoin in my wallet but i will never spending my bitcoin i just hold it for higher price of bitcoin when price of bitcoin increase it value to higher then i will sell it with high price and get a good profit and i store that my bitcoin in my online wallet i think online wallet is much more secure and safe.

I couldn't agree more with you dude, Google form will give you more organized data. It is will help you done your study paper efficiently. But discusses few things related to your topic as additional information is great, Google form only as Merely facilitate to get data.

I have more than 1 and less than 20. I keep some in different locations, some on exchanges, some in cold wallet and some round friends.

Incoming of 0.027btc so nothing in my wallet but that should be changing from a couple of inquiries I am doing about trading.

My current balance is 0 in bitcoin because i am a newbie rank member and i can not earn free bitcoin through signature because my newbie rank is very cheap and not able for signature campaign.

I don't think everyone will give you right answer about this question.Only I cab tell I have 10 btc on my cold wallet.Which I am currently holding for some good profit.And I have wallet apps on my Android and there's nothing much bitcoin cause I already converted them to fiat.Can I ask why you are asking this question?

I dont store any bitcoins because i convert them to fiat currency to meet my daily life expenses, i use desktop wallet to get my all coins and then i sell them to exchanges when ever their is any need.

In my opinion, you might be doing very big mistakes of your lifetime. Save some bitcoin for your future like for your retirement life or for your dream car/house.

I have started saving bitcoins when it was priced around $200 in just one of years back and now I am richer by more than 4 times. Still I'm not holding any balances to share here at the same time I am not doing like you.

I really don't have even a single satoshi. As i'd spent all my bitcoins (even he bitcoin that i stored for emergency purpose) few weeks back and till now i didn't get any bitcoin! I think this might be my last bitcoin!

The question seems a little bit suspicious, why do you need to know how much bitcoin we are holding and where? I’m not accusing you of anything but this seems like social engineering to me, a way for a hacker to know how much bitcoin someone is holding by asking a seemingly innocent question so they can find targets for their operations.

I do not have any and waiting for a settlement to be held for the over 1 btc that is owed to me for trusting in a site that is close to committing fraud.
Check my previous posts of this for I am having a reputable investigator here in revealing of this attempt that has been going on for a month now without any resolution of the situation so far.

No offense, but that is a pretty dumb idea. Why would you be using all your Bitcoin daily? Do you not have a job or something? If that is the case, then I could understand. But you are saying that you have no Bitcoin at all, and then you say that you sell when there is any need. How could you sell now if you don't have any?

I am holding a decent amount of Bitcoin at the moment. Not that I am going to say how much though. I think this is a really stupid topic, just like the "Who has the most Bitcoin here" topic.

i think i don't want to telling how much my bitcoin now because i think it is my secret that i won't share with every body ;D but until now, i am still collecting satoshi, i want to collect more satoshi as much as i can.

My current balance as of now in my wallet I think 0.04++ only because I cashout last week the amount of 0.08 btc. All of those income is from trading and I hope I will earn more .  so I can find another job so my bitcoin in my wallet .

My current balance in my bitcoin wallet is 0.04++ because i also cashed out last week and the current balance is from my earnings on my current signature campaign. And I don't usually let my bitcoin stay in my online wallet. It's either I immediately cash them out or send to my trusted investment sites. It is more productive if you will do the same ;)

ohh nice strategy but be careful where you invested for  ;) can you tell me where you invest your bitcoins and what is the safe site you saying? i want to grow my bitcoins but i always getting scammed by the website owners can you give me a tips sir? i tried all of the business here in bitcoins but i always failed maybe because of lack of knowledge im just successful here in signature campaign.

yeah man iam agree with your thoughts..... i think it is a very personal matter that asking for a person " how much money you have in your account ??? "..... and in the mean of social experiment it may help hacker to find their target easily ......!!!!

correct,these informations would really be helpful for scammers and hackers but i dont think they can easily hack someones wallet specially to those wallet who had setted up full security on their wallet and also most people here would not say about their bitcoin holdings for privacy purposes which same as you mentioned about personal stuffs.

My Bitcoin current balance is only 0.01652253 storing in our online local exchange and I have few in blockchain. I never tried storing my coin in bitcoin core or other computer application, I just downloaded it before but not updated.

Agree with you sir, no one disclose the exact amount of bitcoin they hold. They just want to keep it privately for security of their money.
much better to ask if how much each users earn daily, weekly or monthly and where did they get bitcoin or source of their bitcoin.

At the moment I keep bitcoin in 2 wallet in i.e. blockchain and coinbase, total of 2 wallet that I have about 1.7 BTC. 98% that I got from bought and 2% I get from a variety of ways such as a faucet and a giveaway.

Newbie writing a study about bitcoin and first question is how much bitcoins we have in our wallets? Will this newbie try to hack the people who have the most coins?
I will not share that ifno here, my coins are only mine and I have my coins on more then one place.

Well, this time I do not want to see the balance that I have in my wallet. I prefer to collect it and see it in a certain time. It made me curious, but when I feel that bitcoin I have had many, I definitely will exchange in the exchanger.

Right now, I am having around BTC0.25 in my wallets. As of now, I am storing the coins in my Blockchain.info wallets, but I am planning to move them to an offline wallet very soon.

Im storing it in an online wallet because I dont know yet how to earn bitcoin thru mining, therefore im storing it now to my online wallet.i put my whole trust on it because all of my countrymen is using this wallet , and I think it is safe because no one reports that our coins in this virtual wallet is gone so i think its reliable

yes that is a personal type of question and most of the people do not want to share their information with other but still i will tell you that i have a good amount of  bitcoin more that 20 and i have invested a good amount in trading while i am also holding a good amount of bitcoin for the price increase and hope that this time the price will cross 1200 USD lever very easily.

Yes, more users want to store it online used to buy anything which as needed. In my case I don't really save it but I exchange it to real money, because I needed it.

You are writing about in bitcoin, but asking personal things to any members here. Do you think with your topic you can get an honest answer to your question. They won't tell on this thread of how much they hold bitcoin now, possible they will tell you where they put their bitcoin, like I put my bitcoin on my Electrum wallet.

You must create a poll with a choice of "how much your current bitcoin balance + What kind of wallet you are using"

Balance bitcoin is privacy and I am sure you will only find incorrect data if asked directly. If you are looking to make a case study of sampling theory, you should create a form of online/offline correspondences, then you can draw conclusions from average participant.

If you are going to write something about your study paper, I think not the topic like this. It is because the topic was too personal and if ever there is someone will respond on you here it is sure not 100% true.

yes i also have a good amount of bitcoin in my online account. actually i have two online accounts one is for signature campaign which i use for mobile recharge and some other purposes, while the other is for trading alt coin where i use my bitcoin for online trading and specially for trading alt coin.

I have only 0.003 because I need more real money due to many expenses in everyday life.I need more money now to buy my food, to by my clothes, my shoes in short even my neccessities.I need to pay my bills to so I use my bitcoin for that , so I dont have a bitcoin now in my wallet because Im using it now in my everyday needs.

I have only small amount each week because at the moment the only Bitcoin source for me is signature campaign. I would like to save some coins but due to current obligations and expences this is not possible. My goal is to earn more Bitcoins and to make some decent savings that would also give me some feeling of security.

Looks like most of the people here are holding a small amount of bitcoin and i think they cant save a lot in bitcoin. .for me i just save few and scaleup.. due to really needed money i just withdraw few of them.. and use some of them from buying domain and hosting.. for wocomerce website..

I only have small amount of BTC and I am not comfortable to discuss what is the exact amount of it. As for storage, I usually use online wallets for small transactions. For my long-term investment, I use my PC and Android phone. Just make sure that you have proper security in your phone and PC (antivirus, anti-malware, any security that will protect cryptocurrency). Just bear in mind that security is our top priority when we are talking about BTC.

I got only 3 bitcoins left from my wallet because most of my coin are already sold because of the high price and just now i'm waiting for the price to calm down a little bit then i will buy bitcoins again. You know, i'm just doing buy low sell high and i'm happy with my results of doing that. I'm now looking forward for selling that 3 bitcoins left in just wait for the price to dump.

Most of us buy and sell according to the price, as for the second question regarding storage, don't use web wallets, use a dedicated old computer just for your wallet and online shopping.
