Post by: wildbud on April 14, 2013, 03:25:56 AM
I want to gauge the interest on possibly selling my truck for BTC.

My truck is fully built and has been extremely reliable.

I currently have:

2009 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab
75k miles

Suspension:
Full King Suspension
Total Chaos UCA
Baja Leafs
3/4" Skid Plate
fully built rock guards

Tires:
33" BFG Mud Terrain KM2
Custom Wheels

Performance:
TRD Supercharger
TRD Intake
URD Exhaust and H Pipe
Doug Throley Long Tube Headers

Inside:
Fully done 12" sub
CB Radio

I have put almost a total of 20k into this truck.

The truck is located in California.

I will post pictures based on interest.

Whats better is the taxes that will be saved. Check on this first but I believe there are no taxes because it is a property to property transfer. I had a customer do that before when buying a truck. The buyer didn't want to pay tax so he gave the seller $50,000 in gold eagles. Then the seller just turned to me and I bought the gold eagles from him.

Sometimes when registering a car to a new name you have to declare how much you paid for it and pay taxes on that amount. I will def look into this though

I am going to push this back up there. The Truck is still for sale, I have really worked hard to sell it because I enjoy it so much but I will be putting it up and craigslist and on some forums for fiat but I wanted to try and sell it for bitcoin as well.

On the barter situation: both buyer and seller would have to report fair market value of the traded goods, with FMV being the value of the other parties goods. I guess you could skew these values a little bit if you would be trading one car for another one, but when you are trading for 'liquid' commodities like gold with pretty clear valuation it will be though to convince the IRS of a lower value.

That would be a long drive but I am sure you wouldn't mind stopping at a few parks on the way home :) (Rubicon Trail, Zion, Moab, Death Valley) Theres nothing the truck couldn't handle.
