Are there any exchanges that allow you to deposit money via an online bank transfer (an American bank) ??

I believe ~~BitFloor~~ accepts wire transfer from your bank. You can also use CapitalOne360 P2P transfer for free.

EDIT: As of 2013-04-17 BitFloor has ceased all operations.
