Title: solo mining probability
Post by: radjar on January 26, 2017, 11:16:48 AM
hi all.  i know that im not the only one askin for that but just want to make sure what i read is right.

i would like to know whats probability/chance or how long would it take for me to solve a block ?

like if i run 2ths 24/7  whats probability to solve block in a week...month year ?

i saw somewhere that you take yours ths power and divide by all ths network is your chance to solve block every 10 min ?

please give me right info im really curious.

with a networ hashing power on 3.000.000T/hs.. i think really low.
but if you want..
you can give it a try...

so  0.0000667 %  every 10 min to solve block  right ?    (runnin 2ths)

Bitcoin Mining Calculator Summary

Days to generate one block mining solo: 9767.15 Day(s) (can vary greatly depending on your luck)

coinwarz can help you to calculate your probability and your chance with your hardware and of course the electricity that you should paid. i think you need to make the calculation first before you decide to start mining so you can predict how much you can gain the profit and how much the loss you'll need to cover.

There's no point taking any notice of an estimate that says more than a few weeks.

Every two weeks, it changes, so as time goes on, it will get less and less likely.
e.g. an estimate that says "6 months" for XTHs will of course be wrong, coz if you mine for 6 months with XTHs, the expected number of blocks will be quite less than 1.

Instead consider the chances of finding a block in one day (and always check again every 2 weeks since it changes)

another question for solo mining...

if  use a 2 s4 for solo mining am i gonna double my chance or it will be a (x) percentage on each ?

i mean they workin on same block or different ?

simply put, the more hashrate you have, the more chance of finding a block.  Its just statistics.  You could find a block tomorrow, or in twenty million years.  unlikely, but hey.  I have a blockerupter set up as a lottery, its like 5w so idgaf but the highest share I've ever found was just shy of 3 million.  Now if I find the solution to immortality, maybe I'll see it find a block in the next 50 000 years.  But you never know :)  So more miners, more chance.  Unfortunately, 0.00000000000001% chance and 0.000000000000002% chance is pretty much the same thing.

Chances are extremely low, more than I imagined. I think in solo mining chances would be very low even if you had a decent farm, but if you really want to try this, it can be a interesting experience.

it's simple, it's your highest luck in finding a block, when above the target you will sove one

if you see as a lottery where you need to find 4 of 5 numbers to win, you have found the highest amount of numbers with your "bestshare", the highest among your tries..

If you have the Hashpower laying around you may as well give it a try. 2THS pool mining doesn't earn all that much anymore. Try solo mining any SHA Alt coins, might be slightly more profitable.

i will get an s7 soon....

bestshare im havin now is   19572430  so where or how to know if i was close to solve a block?

Current difficulty is 392,963,262,344 so you're billions of light years away still.

Check the current difficulty here:

so the current difficulty is the numbers your *bestshare* must hit to solve a block ?

sorry i feel so noob lol

Yes, equal or better.
