Title: Which mobo? Post by: LouReed on April 14, 2013, 06:21:38 PM I am ordering the components to build a mining rig, and I am wondering which mobo would be best? I am using 3 of these cards:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202030 My question is this, since these cards support PCIe 3.0 do I need a mobo that will have 3 slots that all are 3.0, or will a board like this one be fine for mining? This rig will only be used for mining. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157262 Or would I get a more efficient rig using one of these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157287 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157282 Thanks in advance for your input! If you have a Micro Center near by they have pretty good CPU/motherboard deals. I've found that AMD boards, in general, use a bit more power than Intel counterparts. Try to go with a simple single- or dual-core CPU and undervolt if possible. Title: Re: Which mobo? Title: Re: Which mobo? Post by: middlemarkal on April 14, 2013, 07:51:42 PM with 3 GPU like that you will need to run open case or with riser, so any cheap motherboard with 3 PCIe will do.
