How do you add an image to your post? When I click the image icon it just inserts http://. So I've pasted a bunch or website URLs that have images (like http://imgur.com/gallery/XkaQi) and I tried pasting images from my desktop like (coin_export.png). Nothing seems to work. Please help a tech illiterate figure this out?

You should get the image URL that most of the time finishes with extension of the file .JPG .PNG .GIF . In the link you posted , you should right click on the image and get the real image url. In most cases with imgur , the image link is the same , you should only add .jpg or .png at the end unless It's a gallery like in your link.

You need a direct image link (ie: with the extension. Imgur.com/cock.png)

When you upload your coin_export.png, you need to get the direct link. I think it's at the bottom of the page with all the hyperlinks and stuff.

I have the same troubles

You're still a newbie so you can't post a photo. Make it to atleast a jr. rank.

Some time ago it was possible to get the direct link to an image on imgur by simply clicking a button.

Now you can right-click on the image and open it in a new tab. This way you gain access to the image's direct URL.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the image => "Copy Image Address".

Thanks but I'm on a Mac and I don't think you can right click.

I'm on a Mac too and I can assure you that you can right click ;). Regardless of what kind of Mac you're using, be it a newer model or a dusty old Macintosh, holding down the control key on the keyboard and pressing your primary mouse or trackpad button opens up the menu you're looking for. Also, if you're using a Trackpad and would like to have alternative means to right-click, open your System Preferences and head over to "Trackpad" -- I use "Secondary click in the bottom right corner" on the Trackpad of my MBP. If you're using a regular mouse you can just right-click as usual.

Right click the image, and click 'Copy image address' (Google Chrome)

2. Use the url.
Click https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/bbc/img.gif and paste.


You can also type in the tags yourself [img]link here[/img]


Adjust size, add links as you like.

In google chrome get image address by right click or in mozilla firefox you can get by view image and in safari you will get by copy link and use it between image tag

Pretty sure you can right click on your mac. Hope you figured that out =D

You should find a link that should ends with ".jpg" ".bmp", etc. It's an easier way to insert images to your topics or posts

I get stressed out seeing I cant use photos from Lightshot, which I am using for my print screens...

I also can't seem to post an image, did they change it so that Jr members can't post either?

Does it work if the image is stored on google drive?

You need to get the Direct Link of the file, the link should end with a file name, with Google Drive its a little bit tricky but can be done

Only Jr Member and above can post image, you can buy Copper Membership upgrade to post image as Newbie, the image you want to post is working when I quote it because my rank can post image

You need to click on the image you want to post and then you will see something like this (see image below), Copy Direct Link and then insert it in between the img tag or just simply copy the BBCode (message boards & forums) and then paste it on to the preview editor no need to put it in between the img tag, see the image below to find the link you need to copy.

I have an example here. You need to be atleast Jr. Member so that you were able to upload images.Use direct link or copy the link directly from the image you want to upload.

Yes, there is no shortcuts, if you want, there are some ranks like VIP or Donator:

Donator:   Manually applied by administration after 10 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half green. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a Donator.   

VIP:   Manually applied by administration after 50 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half purple. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a VIP.

Because your rank is Newbie. You need to be a Jr. Member at least, or else acquire a Copper Membership (see post above your's, although the price has changes since then).

You can always simply leave the link in your posts, and people may (or may not) follow the link to the image (if it’s for the forum’s 10th anniversary art contest, just leave the link: people follow them, and others may quote your link, making it visible on their post in the event).
