Title: Bitcoin and Trump
Post by: poks on January 27, 2017, 02:16:38 AM
Will Trump and Bitcoin be Good Partners

The only asset to thrive in the aftermath of Trump’s win was Bitcoin, strengthening its status as the modern day safe haven.
BITCOIN and TRUMP

Friends or Foes? ???

Exactly it already has discussed on the other similar thread. It will not give anything for bitcoin.

Bitcoin has growth with his own power, and never there a relationship with the current US president.

Wait the trump will be building the wall.  :D

I hope so. Trump is more on capitalism. And hope he is in favor on bitcoin. Bitcoin can be more valuable if bitcoin gets Trump's support. If Trump is not going to support it. Its not a game over for us. Bitcoin is supported by many countries now. Russia declare that crytocurrency there is no prohibited anymore. We should focus on that.

with many people giving support for bitcoin, the stronger bitcon to stay longer and if trump give his support too, i think trump will give big impact because united states have a good technology and with this, i think people will read more about bitcoin and they can decided to use bitcoin for daily.

As said a lot similar to this topic has been discussed in another thread. Bitcoin as an alternate solution is getting used worldwide. Now the grown country mentioning it through Trump will make some impact in bitcoin. Sure he'll be a supporter of digital currency as well digital economy. Now his main focus is building a wall between Mexico and America.

Trump will never support BTC, (China Controls it with ~68% of mining)
Saying he will support China's BTC , is like saying he will support the Chinese Yuan, it is not going to happen.
US $ is the only currency he will be supporting.

At best it gets ignore ,
at worst it gets caught in between the US & China Trade Disputes.

Odds are on worst.

at the very least he seems to be supportive of bitcoin and not too aggressive against it, specially with his picks.
also many these days are saying he will wreck US economy and that can be a good thing for bitcoin because in times like this people seek out investments and what is better than bitcoin in a situation like this.

Bitcoin does not need the support of Trump, and it is not going to get it, but as economic turmoil spreads across the world we can be sure bitcoin is going to keep growing.

I have never seen any president who hate Bitcoin. Therefore, we do not know whether TRump support Bitcoin or not. In my opinion, I think that he does not even care what Bitcoin is. IN fact, according to some news and information, he does not even use mail or some modern technologies. He rather working with paper and paper

but we know he is somewhat supporting bitcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1724618.0)
have you seen his budget chief, Mick Mulvaney? he is a supporter of bitcoin, he loves bitcoin and gold.  and at the very least they will have a more favorable stance towards bitcoin and that is good for the future of this currency.

I have never heard that the time the presidential campaign and debate President Trump alluded to the problem of the bitcoin. So I think, bitcoin would never thought of by Trump to take anywhere.

First of all this thread is in the wrong place, it should be in the speculation section, and there are already so many posts about it, you could have posted in one of those. Bitcoin will not at all benefit from trump. Look he is doing what he said all along he would do. Building a wall, making America powerful again and that means making $ and strong, with a strong dollar the money flowing in btc shall be diverted and this I feel shall effect the price, that's my thinking, if someone else thinks otherwise do explain.

How many times will this issue be addressed because this has been dealt with several times even on this forum. On another way what is the relationship between Trump and bitcoin and even as at now, I believe Trump has alot of issues to battle with rather than bothering himself on the issue of bitcoin. Let him first handle the backlash from his decisions for the past few days before knowing what is next to handle.

After Trump is done building the physical wall against Mexico he will set out to build a virtual wall against China's controlled Bitcoin. Let's make America great again!

The presidency of trump is the inclusion of bitcoin supporters like Peter Thiel and Mick Mulvaney in his team.. also trump is considering the bitcoin entrepreneur Mr. Balaji Srinivasan to head FDA. Balaji is the founder of one of the leading bitcoin startups. So and there are more bitcoin enthusiasts are there under trump's governance.  So we can believe that the trump administration can be more acceptable of cryptocurrencies. So Traders need not worry!

It's not just the people whom he took in his team, some of his campaign slogans say that bitcoin will not be ignored, for example if the financial wall will be built with Mexico, the people on the earnings will go to bitcoin to send money home.

Yup Trump is an android with bitcoin protocol built in, he also has the biggest mining farm and more importantly he is Satoshi Nakamoto lol.
We laughed, seriously now since there was and there is and there will never be any supervision and oversight regarding bitcoin distribution people can never know who has how many coins and what is their intentions, whether they are terrorists or extremists or even an enemy of their country or nation, that is why we'll never see governments officials especially from world power countries to do anything that could potentially boost the price.

So let us not get our hopes high and start thinking about how to improve it ourselves.

You are seriously overestimating the technical ability of the majority of the mexican migrant workers.
They walk around with wads of Cash, because they don't trust Banks or credit cards.
Most they do is money orders with the US postal service, or another money transmitter.

They have to have a bank account to buy BTC , and if they use localbitcoins instead, odds are they will get robbed since they always carry all of their cash with them.

So far their has been no mention of taxing their remittance back to Mexico only imported goods, so it would have no effect on money they send back with money orders.

FYI:
Plus after the wall is built the illegals won't be able to get here to send money back to Mexico,
the ones that are here legally usually move the rest of their families here year round and don't send money back.
Only the illegal ones that work thru the growing season for a few months and then return home send money back like crazy.

Well i don't know much about trump and why ppl hate him so much i found it through facebook posts
in which i found an agent said she would go to jail rather than taking a bullet for trump.
But keeping that apart i don't think he will support bitcoin.

She Posted that in Oct. , then removed it within 3 days, after she realized it would get her fired.
Which by the way was illegal according to the Hatch Act.
https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/01/25/secret-service-agent-said-she-preferred-jail-time-over-a-bullet/21662380/

She might as well just Quit her Job of 23 years, because they are not going to let her stay after that.
It was a very Dumb thing to do.
