An 80-year-old prediction may come true: Scientists turn hydrogen into a metal

if they would use this for further development of gpu or cpu?
wouldn't this change how we are mining? and how we use computers in our every day lives?
Quantum Computers are already up and working so next gen is already here but obviously not available to us more human folk

if this super conductor becomes an actual usable product what will we be seeing in the next few years?

toughts and comments very welcome!

I think with VEGA and Volta will be new gpu mining records avaible this year. Maybe some new ASICs will come too!

This is future, i think this need some years to be possible!

only a few mere years ago was the bitcoin first launched and look at the advancements and speed of development in the hardware field and in the software field. i wouldn't want to wait years for something that is already on the table before i could eat it!

im not simply speculating!!!  here try it out for yourself! its amazing!

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but this scientific result is being highly oversold to get additional funding.

High energy density materials are usually metastable and very very unsafe.

Quantum computing or sub nanometer lithographies are the closest technologies that would have any impact on mining.

This is actually being tested as we speak. http://www.engadget.com/amp/2016/11/28/hp-successfully-tests-memory-computer/. Looks to have some great potential.

Hey,

Hell yea! What we see on future is the question. ;D
My grandmother was 7 yr old when this scientists project starts!  :o

For it to be true quantum would mean the CPU doesn't run on binary 0 or 1 states.

True quantum behavior would be where a CPU has a single bit which can represent a wide array of values.

I think what people are calling "quantum computers" are normal CPU's emulating quantum bits.

Just a little bit more density and they'll get real fusion.  ;D
