Post by: SaltySpitoon on January 30, 2017, 08:17:41 PM
update: The 1 KG Silver rabbits are sold

Hi, today I'm offering (2) 1 Kilogram silver 2011 Year of the Rabbit Silver Coins (or should I say plates?) made by the Perth mint, as well as (2) 1/10th oz Gold MS70 ANACS graded 2011 Year of the Rabbit coins. The 1 Kilogram silver rabbits come in mint airtites containers. Shipping to the US is free, if you are outside the US we can figure it out. If you are outside of the US, please make sure you are aware of any import taxes or restrictions your country charges.

For each 1/10th oz gold, I'm looking for http://btc-priceimg.herokuapp.com/img/300
And for each 1 Kilogram silver, I'm looking for http://btc-priceimg.herokuapp.com/img/710

I'm not sure where I put the photo of the silver ones, so I'll snap a better picture shortly. Until then, I just attached a stock photo.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, grievances, bellyaching, or if you need life advice, feel free to ask. Of those, if they aren't relatively well related to the thread, send them via pm rather than posting here.

Perth Mint makes such nice coins.

Can you post a photo of the silver with something to reference it's size?

Perth Mint makes such nice coins.

I agree completely, as far as consistent quality goes, I find Perth to be the best mint in the world. There are some other designs out there that I may like better than what Perth has put out, but as far as quantity of coins they have produce that have made my top 20 list, they take a lot of the slots. You can't go wrong with the Lunar series in general.

Sure can, I found the photo I took of them previously.

the other coin in the picture there is a 2 oz round, for reference.

Since it says $30 on it, does that mean I could spend it somewhere that accepts CAD? I am not too sure of the laws on CAD stuff, but I know in the USA a private mint cant put a $1 on a coin.

They have a face value of $30 AUD. What makes them coins and not rounds is that they are legal tender in Australia. The Perth mint is under the authority of the Australian government, and has the ability to mint bullion that is legal tender. The 1/10th oz Gold rabbits also have a legal face value of $15 AUD.

You are correct, private mints in the USA cannot put $1 on a coin, but US Silver eagles do have a legal $1 face value, and for that reason, you could technically go to a grocery store in the US, and hand them a silver eagle in exchange for a $1 candy bar.

Heh, yeah the heft is even more impressive in person. I honestly am afraid that I'll drop one on my foot and break it in half. Well it will hurt really bad anyway. The James bond scenes with the hat throwing villain that can take off heads comes to mind. Though, if you tossed one of these, the damage would probably be a lot worse.

You know, I think I woild have to pass on this. But I was asking, cause if I bought this I would always keep it with me and what if I needed $30 to pay a bill orsomething .

But if this coin isn't backed by CAD government can't anyone mint a coin and slap any dollar amount on it

As said above, it's AUD, or Australian Dollar. The Perth Mint, which minted the coin is under the authority of the Australian government, which makes it legal tender.
