Title: Safe transactions in bitcoin without 3rd party Post by: bepcyc on April 15, 2013, 01:38:30 PM I'm pretty sure that bitcoin and other cryptocins have bright future. But it has some problems with security in real world right now.
For example, I'd like to sell something real for BTC (let's say a book). But how can I trust to buyer and be sure that he will pay me my BTC after receiving the book from me? I mean without any trusted 3rd party (because I don't want anybody to control my bitcoins and it's not a perfect solution as the whole system is ditributed). Or use escrow. well it doesn't answer my question, escrow is a 3rd party and when you pay first how can you be sure the seller is not a fraud? The 3rd party cannot take the coins, only mediate.
