Oscars Awards is highly formulaic contest. I bet the academy would just repeat choices of Golden Globes jury. Like usual.
Ii don't have big enough cojones to try and bet against mainstream choices. I will probably go with the flow and bet on winners of GG.

honestly all the time i just watching the movie and never bets for Oscar Award but because this is annual event might be good to be considering bets for them and La La Land has already dominated Golden Globe and i think this is will not so different or at least maybe For best director or the best pictures will belong to this movie

There are some amazing odds on some of the other movies. You could simply make a tiny bet there, which may turn out to be very profitable.

I think so too. The criteria that they have for golden globe is not much different from the oscars so i think best picture would go to lala land and im guessing ryan gosling would also be taking home the best actor plum.

Is there any site where i can place bets on these odds, I have been truly searching but its hard to find any genuine websites that does awards betting.

As far as the predictions goes i am picking La La Land to win the Oscars for the best picture and the director might win too ,usually there wont be any surprises when it comes to the awards as it always favors the odds .Rumors are that Emma Watson and Miles Teller was supposed to star in La La Land if not for their demands and they might be cursing their fate for losing this move. :)

The special event like this is always a good way to place a bet. Betting on oscar award is like watching band concert with the profit. Peoples love this.
But unfortunately, I don't have any prediction to place a bet in some nomination. It's because I don't really know who is them.

I just bet the minimum for my favorite movie. I watch the Oscars every year and having a bet makes it more exciting and it gives me something to cheer for. For best picture I like Arrival. Best director Denis Villienueve. For best actor and actress I have not decided yet. Maybe Viggo Mortensen and Ruth Negga. I loved Viggo at Captain Fantastic, go watch it.

I know that there is always a possibility of an upset, but knowing Academy's highly predictable nature I won't risk it.
Year ago I bet on The Martian, and that movie failed to secure a single Oscar statuette. This year I will bet everything on La La Land.

@Slark. What if it becomes an upset? It can happen like what we saw with the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump for US President betting. I do not know if it was true, someone posted a picture of his betting slip and risked 33k $ for Hillary to win. The rest as they say is history. Poor fellow.

When it comes to Oscar Awards it is hard to image any major upsets because the politics behind the team very well knows who is going to win the particular awards and most of the time there are no surprises when it comes to awards.
My predictions is La La Land will be the best movie and Damien Chazelle will take the best director award and best actress will be Emma Stone .

@Pattberry. If it all goes down to politics will the people who have the most influence on what and who would become winners play the equality and inclusion role? If you noticed the theme of the movies either includes blacks or gays and in one movie it is the 2 together.

They should give Arrival a chance. The aliens need racial inclusion too.

Betting on Oscar Award and winning is possible to just 40%, because the jury panellist observation over a movie and ours differ much. So most of the time other than few results everything goes with unpredictability. But the effort of making such odds for gambling is really appreciable.

Well, it is good to know that Oscar Award also on bet. But i am not ready to do bet on it, because i see of only my country's movie, that's why i have no knowledge of Oscar Award. But in Oscar Award we could only predict, and guess because finally we don't know who will win in it.   

First of, as one who follows Oscars for more than 12 years I disagree that the Academy will just repeat choices of Golden Globes jury. That's not so simple.

Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture are given for movies in two categories: "Musical or Comedy" and "Drama". And no one knows which one will take Academy Award for Best Picture. And there’s more. In 2009, for example, Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Drama went to Avatar, and The Hurt Locker, presented in the same category, didn't receive the award. But the Academy Award for Best Picture went to The Hurt Locker.

And I agree that here are some amazing odds. For example IMO Arrival has much more chances to get the Academy Award for best picture than 1/101.

I do not like to make a bet on this event. It is not good to connect art with gambling. Anyhow, LA la land will surely have a lot of prize since this movie are totally awesome. What about the animation movie? I love Kimi no na wa but sadly, they do not list it in the Oscar. Well, Zootopia will win the prize for the best animation movie this year

I will go with the dark horse and say Manchester by the sea will win.
I haven't seen any of the other films cause they just weren't my cup of tea. :-\
Musical and black history of the month movies are not interesting to me.

la la land for best picture got a good value for staking  having 1.31 odd is good for gambling from oscars well using spare money will make me some more i guess not bad DirectBet seems its really tempting to play with this pick, good luck to those who's going to bet for this let see how the result will bring us.

Thing is they did not win. :-\
And all the people who had them picked got emails from Directbet asking for their bitcoin to be sent back that they misgraded when it was announced.
So what would happen to the ones who had picked the correct one? They wouldn't get paid their winnings either?
Very screwed up with that bet if you did place a bet on the winner and then had to pay them back. :-\

Sort of dishonest if yu had already spent the bitcoin that was sent as the winnings and then get an email hours later tell you to pay it back to them as a refund.
Completely not acceptable if you ask me. :-[
It's the books fault for sending out the payments and not putting a hold on them in the first place.
The show had a delay of a few minutes nationally, so their action to not have some sort of contingency plan put in place so to not have winning payments sent out automatically is their own fault in my humble opinion on this event being graded wrong on their part. ::)
There is no excuse to be asking players to send back any funds rendered to them.

i think betting for this event similar such as sport betting because low odds doesn't automatically won your bets or increase your winning chance and for those who bets for this movie has already suffer lost but i can't imagine the profit for who bets for moonlight because i'm pretty sure the odds for moonlight is pretty high
