Title: Viber offers free calls from the U.S. to the 7 countries affected by Trump Ban
Post by: OmegaStarScream on January 31, 2017, 04:38:03 PM
So after Trump banning 7 Muslim countries , Viber decided to give support to them and they stated on their website the following :

"In light of recent events in the United States, we are now offering free calls to any landline or mobile number between the United States and Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen so that those affected will now have one less barrier to cross when trying to reach their loved ones."

This is a nice offer by Skype has been offering free calls from anywhere in the globe to anywhere in the globe for a decade plus.

I've never heard of Viber, perhaps they are more well known in other regions of the world. They say any press is good press, and if that press surrounds offering something free in relation to a humanitarian crisis it's probably going to be a good thing for the company.

Gosh is viber still a thing that people actually use? Was something I used about 7 years ago but then after that I never found an actual use for the app itself.

But, it's always wonderful to see a company abusing this type of situation in order to get their brand out their. Though, I guess it's the type of marketing infested world in which we live today.

ROFL... and now they got some free publicity, thanks to Trump's immigration ban. The quality of a Viber call is not as good as one with Skype HD or Whatsapp. Actually, I am surprised that Viber is still operating.

Lol i figured that out as well. This feature has been free for a lot of apps for quite a long time already. Nice work viber. But i think the intention is good though i doubt that this will boost their market. Too late i think

This is indeed a great news. With this news coming in then probably the move made by President Trump to ban muslims in their country is not purely bad news. If Trump did not ban 7 muslim countries then this services will not be made free. Hope there will be more companies like this one that will offer free services to the affected communities.

In fact, viber is used by many millions of people. Do whatsapp for quality links I like, but that does not mean anything. I believe that people in this situation need any help. Something I don't see solutions for this reason the most democratic of the courts.

I think many still use Viber these days, there is many similar apps on market so Viber is not popular as it was before. There is info about 800 million users worldwide on their official website.I use Viber before much more than in the present time, but it is still installed on my smartphone.

I do not think a company with this move abusing something,it is giving people something for free but it's a good advertisement for them also.Perhaps this move will get more new users to them, there is places in the world where Viber certainly have space for attracting new users.

When you see ads on TV and on billboards it doesn't do you any good. If the promotion is viber will help at least one person for free to call home or a lawyer I support these ads. It's better this way.
