Title: BFL - Is this saga finally going to go away
Post by: YipYip on April 15, 2013, 11:39:13 PM
Thought i would come and get may dose of soap/drama and read the never ending BFL lies/bullshit that they are putting ppl through and the second installment of what denial looks like when reading the defence from the fan boi's

To my surprise I find they are 20 topics down the list !

Is this saga finally coming to an end ?

Have they come to the point where the engineering gods have finally given them their just deserts for all the fails in the way they have approached this.... (josh calling a pcb a cocksuker is not going to make it start working)

Have all the lies finally caught up with them ?

After all the abuse that the AValon crew have taken who's company would you like to be working for right now ?

After bitcoin hitting $80 the writing is finally on the wall that they need to release in the next 2-4 weeks otherwise its all over (this is not going to happen)

Are they really at first stage proto and a real production run is 6 weeks away (once they find a proto that actually works and then produce the pcb's and packaging to suit  )

Half of the products they where selling are now technically impossible due to believing in there own press releases

Unless u want to have a AX1200 connected to the Japelano or a 2.7 Jiga Watt fosill fuel power plant to the now infamous 1.5 T Has rig

I dont have an Avalon nor want one as the BFL saga has early on set me onto Litecoin (thank you jesus)

I really hope something comes out for the long suffering investors/customers/cocksuckers   (last one is from josh)

A bit scary they release a promo video to try and buy time and build confidence (real issues down on the farm as the tractor is stuck in the mud me guess's )

Of a company more deserving to fail these guys are the poster child of what not to do or how to do it !

Nope there's hope for BFL -- didn't you hear, Avalon is selling batches of 10,000 chips.

Latest inside rumor is that BFL is just going to buy a batch of these chips and get soldering. That way, they'll at least be able to ship something before September.

Since when do a company hire 50+ with glasses for soldering tiny electronic parts?
I hope she doesn't burn herself holding the soldering iron like that.

Far be it for me to defend BFL, but the best board assembly person I ever worked with was a 58 year-old lady. Don't underestimate what those ladies can do!  8)

I'm sure there are exceptions. I just find it odd considering the level of expectations most companies has on it's personnel they hire these days.
I also thought it required a sharp eye and a steady hand... not too common with elderly people.

Let me guess: This lady did the bumping on the chips.

And at the Greek Orthodox Church, this is how they sacrifice a wafer:

Anyway,
if you look at all the pics from BFL ( where they show off their equipment and all the cases and boards) and the one above (with the granny soldering with a JBC Hot Air Station) and compare the habitat and the lighting and the surroundings , you will realize that the pics weren't taken in the same place....more than this, the lady has a Pre-Heating board underneath the PCBs and has the Hot Air Blower is too close to the board ( 3 secs and you have everything unsoldered - maybe because of this they failed with the promised speed and power draw...)
and the pic, "was taken during work" ....
Give me a break....

+1.  Who do you always see sewing patterns onto stocking for the grandkids or stitching together quilts?  Those things require precision too!

Everyone misjudged them.
They are NOT a bunch of scammers (despite their past misdeeds).
They are NOT a bunch of complete incompetents (despite overwhelming proof to the contrary and their incredible attacks on people who actually could have help them if they had not called them cocksucking whores)  -- you just cannot make that shit up....
They are actually actors on a reality TV show that just has not come out yet.   I do not think that anyone has gathered a better group of misfits together for our entertainment since MTV get puck and josh together for Real Life San Fran.   Cannot wait for the TV version and let's all just feel lucky to have gotten the preview here.

Dunno, I've tried everything, including sacrificing goats, and virgins, and virgin goats, and I still haven't seen any hardware.

Here's my speculation

April - dev boards and excuses
May - dev boards and more excuses
June - updates related to the new chips with lower power draw
July - possible production with new chips
August - delays because of ill preparation for mass assembly
September - production quality pre-orders start shipping
Jan/Feb 2014 - production quality pre-orders finish shipping
March 2014 - mini rig assembled :p

Logik, you are very optimistic.

The only chance is, that the exchange rate of the BTC stays at this high levels. If it descent to under 20 a lot of people will request a refund. I assume most of our pre-order money was already used to pay the third party companys that developed the current stuff, no matter what BFL tells you about this. A large number of refund requests will most likely break BFL.

I think it is clear they have something.  At least one asic prototype running (albeit not near spec)... not really sure what engineering magic at BFL is needed to keep that board alive.

Those of us who are GPU miners (which I think is the bulk of miners out there), are used to having a lot of ugly slapped on our rigs.  It is all about function... form is irrelevant.

Lets assume the problem is solely about the additional power draw and therefor the problem is with power/cooling... I would guess that a good number of their customers would be happy to receive whatever they have now without any kind of case and insufficient cooling and mine at 25Gh/s next week (and the customer deals with finding an adequate cooling solution) rather than maybe in 3 months and have the ipod of miners.

I cancelled my BFL order about a month back, so I don't have a horse in their race.  But my guess is... if this were an option, people would take it.  If it isn't an option... then how did they produce the current "working" machine?  If the prototype was not something they are prepared to produce in numbers at this phase in their development... then yeah... they are in big trouble.  If BTC drops down to a point where people who pre-ordered with BTC would feel okay with the gap and issue a return... then I think they are in trouble as well.

FYI. Some cooling problems cannot be solved just with heatsinks & waterblocks.
Liquid Nitrogen maybe...

I'd totally buy a rig that had a cryogenic unit. :P

The heat problem they have is something like a nuclear power plant, if neglected can fission the core ...

I saw an older guy with a beard and glasses in the video and he was getting an empty minirig box out to have a look inside to see if it was working

Guys for fruck sake he had a beard and glasses and was looking at an empty box....his thought pattern was "I must put something in there"   they must be close to releasing product with a beard and glasses dude

Or maybe he was the liquidator checking to see if there was a working ASIC in the empty box ....its really confusing me with all these guys with beards and glasses and no working product ...it just does not add up  ???

This was all by design......

The final piece of the puzzle is the pre-order marketplace

Its beauty is only rivalled by the evilness of it all ...enable others to bring new fresh meat to the table while they exit the enslaved bondage that is BFL

I think the sex slave trade methodoly has now been replicated in teh asic MARKETPLACE !!!
