Title: Number26 (n26.com) discussion
Post by: alani123 on February 03, 2017, 01:32:43 AM
Number26 is an online banking service that accepts online registrations for residents of countries all over Europe (https://support.n26.com/read/000001280).
Notable services of theirs include bank accounts  (https://n26.com/bank-account/)and debit cards (https://n26.com/mastercard/).

Their service isn't directly related to bitcoin but online bank services like it are important in advancing fintech and could come in handy to any bitcoiner so I thought I'd share. If you have experiences with Number26 feel free to respond below.

Note: I'm not affiliated with N26.

I see that some major european countries isn't supported. There are no: Sweden, United Kingdom, Czech, Poland, Norway and many more.
Their offer is nothing amazing either, they have standard fees and restrictions. Unless you wish to have secondary online account there is no need for you to switch your local bank operator to N26 IMO.

Number26 is an online banking service that accepts online registrations for residents of countries all over Europe (https://support.n26.com/read/000001280).

Not even partially true, neither residents nor all over Europe.

Moreover, they are higly unprofessional.
Despite many negative feedbacks, gave them a chance and tried to open a business account with them (for legal entity and legal Ltd, not for any 'crypto' stuff) - neither web nor moble app does not function as it normally (and logically) expectet: it does not give you any option to review/correct the information you entered, finally mobile app just hunged up on the the document verification screen. Had to call tech support - well, unlike many claims, it was reachable - but still useless: the man in the phone convinced that I have ineligible nationality (not residency) despite any lists and advertisements on their site (and I remind you, the app doesn't allow to verify/change it in case of having two or more passports).
Sooo seems the rumors they are just half-assed nazi leftovers turned out also to be true:

Wow man... I've seen you've copypasted this on other places already but I don't see any evidence to support your claims against n26.

What I gather is that you were not allowed to open a business account? Ok... Perhaps you're asking for too much though, just think, how many banks would allow you to open an account remotely? If you can't comply with their procedures no wonder you weren't allowed to open an account.

Not only do you blame this on the bank, but you also go on a racist rant too...

I also don't see any evidence of your pathetic "copypasted" - may be because there is no any copypaste but your butts just are hurting since you have some personal interest promouting them? So open your eyes to the evidences I gave already:

@alani123

You can open a bank account remotely with all banks today (neo banks and classic bank as well) We're in 2018 and banking online in a minimum in today's standards.

@Snorek
Have you heard about banking fees? People using neo banks like N26 do it usually to reduce the costs. It's a trend to see people looking to reduce these costs.

Well, I wouldn't stand by that statement. I don't know what you have in mind or where you got that idea from but opening a bank account remotely is a very new trend. No bank in my country (Greece) does this and it's quite unheard of in the entire Balkan peninsula. There'd be legal precautions under different jurisdictions as to whether this is even allowed, or it's just that many banks are not investing or do not have trust in the infrastructure to do KYC remotely.

Frankly, I think that only a hyperminority of banks with physical branches allow remote account opening even in countries where it's legal to do that.
