Title: MyBitcoin - Currency request
Post by: hamburger on June 16, 2011, 08:43:22 AM
Hi,

I have asked this before but I have no idea if the suggestion was received by the Mybitcoin administrator and I now do it now publicly in the hope that the Bitcoin community will air their support for this.

If you do not use MyBitcoin, please do not respond to this topic for the sake of increasing your post count, you having a gripe with MyBitcoin or you are MyBitcoin' competition.

I suggest that another "currency" type is added to the sci;

MBTC (MyBitcoin)

When the merchant select this currency to generate a pay now button or link, the client only have the option to pay with their MyBitcoin account for the purchase and not with Bitcoin from the Bitcoin client.

This will allow the merchant to deliver the sold item instantly and the purchaser to receive the purchased item instantly instead of waiting for the Bitcoin transaction to be completed.

Thank you,

Hamburger

Not sure I follow.  For the MyBitcoin Pay Now link there are two payment options provided.  One allows the buyer to pay from a MyBiticoin account.  Here's what is rendered:

Right.  And when the buyer clicks that middle button and pays using funds from a MyBitcoin account, the merchant doesn't need to wait, it is instantaneous. (i.e., no "confirmations")
