Crying?  There's no crying in Bitcoin.

Price of a bunch of coins went down only 75% and people post rips? Oh yeah, these are some serious bitcoin believers... not. Bitcoin is stronger than ever, and the price has nil to do with that. For all it's worth, it was at $7 a year ago and it was considered high. Relax, wait for the bear run to end, buy more cheap coins. Don't those people realise that bitcoin lets more and more people become early adopters? Of course, pussies are not welcome :)

Hah! I constantly made fun of the people that believed in the manipulator...

His weary eyes reflected the dim glare of his laptop as he glanced down at the coffee that had turned cold long ago.

  "Shit."

He hadn't had time to taste it, he'd been noisily tapping away on the keyboard for hours.  Gaining control of the major exchanges hadn't come easy, but the work paid off, and he now had access to every bitcoin being bought and sold on the open market.  It was another layer of dominance over the system, and that filled him with an almost primal level of satisfaction.

Part of him was tempted to cash it all out now.  He paused with his hands hovering over the keyboard.

I should just empty all the accounts and run with the money.

He sighed, brushed back his sweat-matted hair, and began typing again.  He hadn't gotten to this point by acting like an amateur. Stealing the money outright would be quicker, but more risky. He also knew that the real money came from controlling the trading, and if he was smart about it, he could keep the money rolling in for a very long time.

It wasn't easy work, though. There's a lot to keep in mind when you control an entire micro-economy.  His programming skills combined with a healthy trust fund had made it easy to corner the market at first, but the market was growing.  It had become unruly and unpredictable like a caged tiger, and it was threatening to break free from his control.

So, like so many other nights, he spends tonight hunched over his keyboard. No time to sleep now, there are new trade and arbitrage bots to code. His hands move deftly across the keyboard as his thoughts drift back to what he read on a forum earlier in the day.  One of the members had somehow stumbled across some of his handy work, and had whipped the rest of the forum up into quite a frenzy. They even came up with a cute nickname for him.

The Manipulator, he chuckled, I like it.

:D I'm really happy, Bitcoin still costs more than 43 times an € and now I have 0.6 BTC more than before. It will recover if people keeps buying, but everybody wants to buy cheap coins.

And this is really cheap coins, waiting to get my salary again so I can expend on buying at 30. Its like a travel in time  ;D

Really? I blamed the perfect storm.

me too.

block reward halving (price approximately doubles from $6 - $12),

bitcoin userbase growing (thanks to announcements like wordpress, etc) ($12 - ATH)

people speculating on the above, (ATH - $100),

reddit announces accepting bitcoin for reddit gold ($100 - $150)

people speculating on the above ($100 - bubble and crash)

oh, and don't forget the magnitude of the deflation effect (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=142280.0), which has been incentivizing a serious market correction ever since we first pushed past the peak of the pirate bubble.

i'll see you guys in single digits  :P :P :P

jk, maybe $10, but still... sucks for all you 'trend followers'. 14 straight weeks of green candles = completely unprecedented overextension of the price.

im not 'just saying this' either. not only did i project this as a likely outcome of runaway deflation in the thread linked above posted on 10 Feb (that was the whole point of that thread, and i got sooooo much hate), but I've been a proud bear since around  that time ($13) and i have no regrets that i didn't mess around with this completely irresponsible exuberance.

What idiots are selling now? Don't you understand that "crash" is artificial ?
Look at market depth, Rich boys just playing a dirty game. When they suck all your coins, they will sell it back at $100 and over.

I'm very sorry if you lost money, but all these "believers" are what has caused the problem with bitcoin as a store of value pushing up into a bubble. We need more rational cynics to keep the price fair no swinging wildly, hopefully as the price falls further we will gain more of these.

Bitcoin needs to be seen as an asset not a political philosophy.

your statements are not scale-invariant. NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY if the price goes up $3 in the next five minutes?

it was the wrong call on the short-term. if i understand correctly, you're a permabull who through selective memory is now shifting the goalposts to the long-term in order to alleviate stress and responsibility.
