Title: Mining 7970 and 6950. One Card not Accepting Shares. Help? Post by: mskryxz on April 16, 2013, 04:25:06 AM Hi all,
I have a computer with 2 cards in it. A 7970 and a 6950. I am running GUI Miner CG Miner lite coin edit and am mining litecoins from a pool. Heres the problem, when I run and mine on both I get the results 7970: 600+ hashes 6950: 400+ hashes The problem is for the 7970 the shares are not being accepted on the pool while the 6950 is just fine. I found one solution was to change the GPU Thread from 1 to 2 for the 7970. Shares started being accepted but another problem occured. The 7970 started running between 200-400 hashes. Any ideas or help greatly appreciated. Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. One Card not Accepting Shares. Help? Post by: mskryxz on April 16, 2013, 04:30:32 AM Just wanted to add on to help people understand what I need help with.
Scenario 1: 7970 Mining 1 Card only - 600+ hashes, accepted shares, PERFECT NO PROBLEM Scenario 2: 2 Cards running 7970- 600+ hashes, NO shares accepted 0% 6950 - 400+ hashes, shares accepted, everything fine on this part Scenario 3: I changed the GPU Thread for 7970 from 1 to 2. 7970 - 200 to 400 hashes, shares accepted now 6950 - 400+ hashes, no changes made to the 6950 settings. What I am trying to achieve is: 7970 - 600+ hashes with accepted shares 6950 - 400+ hashes with accepted shares. Hope this is clear. Thanks Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. Could you give what configs you are using? I'm using GUI Miner Scypt litecoin edit using CG Miner as my miner I pick the default CG Miner 7970 Thread Concurrency 8192 Vectors 1 GPU Threads 1 Worksize 256 Intensity 18 At this setting it runs fine, 600-650 hashes BUT NO SHARES ACCEPTED Now same thing, CG Miner 7970 Thread Concurrency 8192 Vectors 1 GPU Threads 2 Worksize 256 Intensity 18 Only difference is changing GPU thread to 2. NOW it works shares are accepted, BUT it works at 200-400 hashes basically a HUGE drop in performance. The other card meanwhile, the 6950 also in the same computer, is running perfectly with no other tweaks, stock completely, no overclocking or other modifications. Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. so other than those settings specified, i haven't done anything else (overclocking or memory tweaking etc.) and if this helps i am using this pool using stratum also. stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 thanks for your time Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. Are you running the 7970 and 6950 on 1 rig also? What is your configuration / miner that you are using and the settings? Thank you sir. Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. One Card not Accepting Shares. Post by: mskryxz on April 17, 2013, 01:49:37 AM I had similar problem, it was in bitcoin pools side and soon as i switched to different pool it started accepting shares. I don't think its the pool. If I mine with the 7970 alone it hashes and gets shares accepted. If I mine with the 6950 alone it hashes and get shares accepted. The problem is if I mine with both the 7970 and 6950, the 7970 does not get any shares accepted. I can fix this temporarily by setting 7970's GPU Thread to 2. However, The hash rate goes from 600+ to under 400 for the 7970. Title: Re: Mining 7970 and 6950. One Card not Accepting Shares. Help?
