Title: Bitcoin Diff Jump in About 7.5 hours. :(
Post by: wmabern on February 04, 2017, 01:55:54 PM
I just took a look at Bitcoin Wisdom to see what may be in store for us.

Currently looks like a (+8.64%) jump in about 5.8 hours or about 39 blocks. Of course that may change either way before then, but we're getting close.

I'm just thankful it's not showing a 12-15% diff increase.

Good lucks boys and girls and hold on tight!
Mine on!!  ;D  :D  ;D  :D  8)

EDIT: It's showing an average of right at 1 block per 9 minutes.  :o

Bitcoin Difficulty: 392,963,262,344
Estimated Next Difficulty: 426,926,642,622 (+8.64%)
Adjust time: After 39 Blocks, About 5.8 hours
Hashrate(?): 3,090,761,642 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 9.0 minutes

3 blocks: 26.9 minutes

6 blocks: 53.9 minutes

pretty expected with the price rise, difficulty could and probably will jump to even higher points after this price rise and after the difficulty adjustment. 10-15% is possible in the next few weeks if price holds or rises.

Looking like around +7.8% now with a little less than 4 hours to go, according to BitcoinWisdom.
I'm certainly glad to see it come down from the +mid-teens increase it showed after the last adjustment. Of course it could move either way in the next few hours.

We'll know for sure in a few hours. :)

Demand for miners will also rise along with the price, so we could be back to that huge upward difficulty trend in the next few weeks still. Exciting times ahead :)

I don't see more than 7% as a low jump, every time that difficulty jumps (more than 1-3 %) some small bitcoin mining users disconnect its hardware. You can only have profits on home mining on countries with very low electricity cost.

I'm going to turn my miners off for the next few hours. That should drop the difficulty increase to 2.5-3% at the most!  ;D

BOOM. There goes the diff. I think it was about 7.5.

They're already predicting 460,786,659,806 (+9.15%) for two weeks from now. But really, no one has a damn clue!  8)

But seriously, that wasn't too bad at all. I was concerned we'd see 12-15+%. I guess all the mega-miners were able to tone it down just in time to not effect their profitability too badly.

Here's hoping for the coin prices to keep up with the diff and that some mystery hardware manufacturer comes out with a 1,000w, 15TH water cooled miner just in time for summer! :) Oh yeah, I forgot, the price is only $989.99.

Talk about a diff explosion then!!!

Yeah, I've been drinking.... But not too much. :D

Rest wishes too all and MINE ON! :D

There ya go, Philip! Enjoy the rest of your evening and don't stress on your mining hardware issues. It'll all work out. My hopes are that nothing else breaks.  :D

Best wishes and Mine On!

Diff change came in at 7.43%. Since November 5th (about 3 months), the difficulty has increased by about 66%. That's a pretty brutal pace on an annual basis. At $1028, the BTC price is nice, but I don't think it's improved by 66% since November 5th, has it?

Looks to me like we are still losing ground aren't we? :(
