Title: Purevidz Split
Post by: debtstack on February 06, 2017, 09:03:32 AM
This topic is to both create a place for debate and to decrease talk in the ANN of Vidz

The main debate I have come to see is between Novus(completely decentralized streaming, no moderation) VS Purevidz(moderation of content uploaded)

PureVidz works, the interface is nice, no ads and the streaming is amazing. As long as the dev maintains it, it's useful.

shit hits the fan mysteriously after the dev gets the rest of the ICO funds...nothing to worry about haha.

To be honest still wondering how crypto is involved in Pure vids...the whitepaper tech is a small paragraph and copy pasted.

Not sure maybe I am just stupid but I have no clue wtf a coin is needed. This streaming site seems to be a site created by the dev and managed by him, not sure but I believe anyone can create something like that following instructions online.

The wallet is just the usual wallet clone.

Don't count on this reaching polo or bittrex for that matter, just a few shitty low volume exchanges.

The coins main purpose is to be used in a bounty system to entice pirate groups to upload new content and content not yet added in different quality and subtitles. It is all speculation at this point as it hasn't been added into the site yet but it is supposed to be with the next two weeks.

So how is it in 2015 where you are today?

Yobit is not your daddy's Yobit... and Bittrex is not your daddy's Bittrex.

This stupendously idiotic split rivals John Connor's trashing of VCash...
But VIDZ is recovering and the initial PureVidz operation is intact and moving forward.

ICO is back to +1000%, bitches... and we may have another video streaming coin to kick around  :D

I think it's little overblown coin, and real application of it is not. Especially alarming huge number of speculators who are constantly screaming about this coin.

You keep Complaining about the other dev running away with remaining dev funds from the ICO. The original dev said He'll continue with his project. That's enough for you to know that He intends to use the funds for Purevidz development. You may want to check out the roadmap ;)

If this fork doesn't prove to offer a lot more than what VIDZ is offering then it will just end up living in the shadow of PureVidz.

Maybe we just have to wait in order to find out. The Split really affected People's view of Purevidz but I'm pretty hopeful though ;)

PureVidz is showing a lot of potential and the project overall is growing by the day. If this fork doesn't prove to offer a lot more than what VIDZ is offering then it will just end up living in the shadow of PureVidz.

I think it's little overblown coin...

After a 2 year wait and bogged down projects like VTR, Alexandria/FLO...
A torrent/crypto based video streaming site will be a home run for someone soon.

It's just like p2p crypto poker... it's only a matter of time.

Storage is deathly boring zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, but look, SC and Storj have big caps...
Monetizing video and gaming and poker is setting off speculative frenzies.

But you said earlier that purevidz was moderated so why would pirates upload stuff only to have it removed? It sounds like the fork dev has the right idea. Unmoderated and free for all.

I brought this up on the discord chat. What I mean by moderating is that they can control what is uploaded. This does not mean pirated movies. This means that you can control people from taking advantage of a streaming system for illegal content such as child porn. Talking to the dev of the new system, even he said the only way to prevent that stuff is by an opt in. Meaning that people can still use it for those purposes and it is up to the user if they want to view that content or not. Purevidz doesn't have to worry about that being a part of their system as it is moderated.

This is scam coin, easy.

VIDZ might not be a scam because it already provided the technical features that is said it would. The in-browser movie streaming was the whole point of the Project.

After they built that platform, what happens next is merely a speculation...I could see your point from that side of it.

I just have a feeling that a major dump will happen and like any other alts on this forum the Project will get less important and the next coin will be rising up.
