Op's wants to know if there is a different symbol for each Altcoin and not any general symbol to represent Altcoins.

Yes not all Altcoins have symbols besides those that you mentioned.

It seems that only the best-known altcoins, such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, have such a symbol, but I think if other cryptocurrencies show a high level of popularity, it will be more common to see new ones popping up.

Yeah it's obvious if we are going to generalize the whole 'altcoin' crypto currency there is no specific symbol for it.

But for each alt coin they have their very own symbol depending on their devs.

There are some that has its own symbol but most of them doesn't have.

There is no so many symbols for all those coin out there, i don't know exact number of all coins ever made and currently active coins, and it is very hard to follow everyday few new ones.  But generally  it could be very nice to use one for them all. Maybe we can vote for the best one?

Etherium, lisk, augur, monero etc all are also best-known but I am not aware if the have any symbol of their own.
Although all of them have their logos I guess.
I also tried to Google cryptocurruncy symbols but didn't find any for other coins.

It is not general rule for altcoin to have its  symbol. Only the biggest and most serious altcoins have it. For example:

- Litecoin - LTC - Ł
- Monero - XMR - ɱ
- Peercoin - PPC - Ᵽ
- Namecoin - NMC - ℕ
- Primecoin - XPM - Ψ

It is not mandatory for a coin to have a symbol.  Usually it is not used at all because of problems with replicating these symbols during standard online discussion.
You have to remember windows codes for this, for example Litecoin's symbol is normally created by entering this combination: Alt + 0163

How could one have an Altcoin symbol if all of them are so different form one another? Well, we could have a symbol for shitcoins though and ICO scam coins such as an S inside of a turd symbol.

to my knowledge, altcoin is part of a coin other than bitcoin. altcoin also another name for the new coins. altcoin have different types, such as doge, ETH, and much more. that all have their own symbol, because it has a different company. it can be said that altcoin is the challenger of bitcoin.

Not all of the coins have their own symbol. there are some already own their symbol. Majority of the long-term coin already have the familiar symbol with us such as ethereum symbol.

Ξ = Ethereum

Since this is bitcoin forum , it means that bitcoin become top priority for being exist on forum.
Let say if there are altcoin that has long term operated , suddenly scam , it means that forum must removed specific altcoin symbol which cause more work to re-code that I'm consider not efficient

There is no general symbol for other altcoins like BTC for bitcoin.I think there should be some definite general symbol categorized in few sections. I don't have a clue though how It can be done ;D

Made a small userscript for adding custom buttons (including a plugin for adding altcoin buttons): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782017.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782017.0). Feel free to suggest any coins here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782028.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1782028.0).

Certain coins have a custom designed logo, but I don't think there is any universal symbol for alt-coins,
if that is what you are asking.
I usually just say "cryptocoin" so maybe there should be a symbol for that, something that either includes Bitcoin or means everything BUT Bitcoin.

Perhaps the community should make one, I think that that'd be nice. I do like @Burmik123's idea  ;)

Lol Not all Altcoins are sinking ship.Only some shitcoin.
I think many people don't understand what I meant in op.
I dont mean a general symbol for all Altcoins. That would serve no purpose. All I wanted was to enlighten myself on how many different Altcoins have symbols like btc have.

Yea, no I get that, I guess when I think "altcoins" I think some random scamcoin, not the legit altcoins.
