Title: 1.5 cent power, which miner to use in big farm?
Post by: Medow7 on February 06, 2017, 09:15:11 PM
Hello every one:

We are thinking on make a large bitcoin farm here in our country.

The power price is about 1.5 cent per kw, so we are good to use old gear from other mining farms.

So the question is:

Which gear we can use that will let us break in a very short time?

And what is the best price for it?

P.S: How much you think antiminer S4+ worth right now?

Thanks.

Get a bunch of Avalon6 machines. They are super easy to maintain and should be cheap as they are no longer efficient enough for most home miners.

Use this link do generate bitcoins on cloud.

Hey no referral to scam cloud mining services you dumb,
@OP, you realize old miners are useless right? best thing to do is to buy as many S9s as you can and mine without selling, yes don't sell and hold until price reaches $1500 and above.

At that electric cost, Antminer S5 are probably profitable, S7 and Avalon 6 definitely are, Spondoolies SP20 should be at high-efficiency settings.

I doubt that anything older would be profitable long enough to achieve ROI.

This is not true at all. It is also horrible advice and not even close to the proper way to run a commercial farm.

I would recommend you try and stick with the 28nm machines otherwise even at that power level your profit margin will be razor thin. The two best bets are Antminer S7s and Avalon6s. I recommended the avalon because they require much less maintenance and will be cheaper overall to run than the s7 due to the reduced labor and lower failure rate.

How much you think  a used avalon 6 will cost?

That really depends on if you can find someone to sell in bulk. How much have you budgeted for machines and power supplies?

For 300k you might be able to snag some a6 and S7 units cheap in bulk; they're nice and reliable and nothing like the terrible S9s and R4s. As for power go for some server power supplies; noise probably won't be an issue and it'll help you shave a few bucks off of psus. Most of em are also platinum 80+ certified, so efficiency won't be an issue in most cases.
