Title: Anyone mining with radeon 7770?
Post by: barneyss on April 16, 2013, 11:53:00 PM
I found some1 selling for a low (like 180 euros).
Anyone using it? is it going well for mining or just for games?

I have one and getting about 220 from it. 185 euros sounds expensive for one though I paid the equivalent of 120 euros new.

I just got a brand new 7790 for 122 Euro, giving me 260 MHash/s and only pulling 50 Watt.

I was not using 7770 to do the thing. I used to use 7970 to do.  Gpu provides basic start form the business as there are lots of big talkers around the forum.

If you don't trust any promise, then select GPU first. However I do not recommend users to select 7770, If you don't care the speed, 7750 will do. If you care flexibility for Gaming and mining, then 7970 as 7970 provides the complete strcture for your adjustment.

Here is a suggestion for first comers, Find avatars while you use gpu to prepare self, you shall knowmwhy soon.

This is gibberish.  It's like you translated using Google or something?  Really doesn't mean anything, sorry.  ???

I'm fluent in gibberish and I concur.  It has a cockney twang to it, but it is definitely gibberish.  I haven't been to gibber in years though so I may be a little dated in the slang.

if you do rebates and live in the USA and not in one of the states where you have to pay a sales tax to newegg (like texas, hoho), they have the MSI 7790 at $100 again

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127726

the games arent worth as much now, but bioshock + tombraider, i couldnt imagine getting less than $15 after fees on ebay for still.  so like $85 (€65)

i get 310mhash on my 7790's, but that's with settings that wouldnt be the most efficient for most people,  i just get really cheap electricity

i bought a 7770 when i saw one for $80 w/ refund  + games (ended up being like $65 or so), it does like 210mhash

those were bought with mining for a month or two then reselling in mind.  if i bought one now, i'd probably just do the rebates + sell the games + then sell it new in box on ebay

The 7770 is a great mid range card with excellent gflop/watt ratting.  I have one and have mined with it.  But, at only 200 MHash/s it is kinda weak.

But, more importantly, 180 euro is more than twice what it is worth.  I got mine for 80 USD and it was a good value at that price.  180 euro is insanely expensive.

I get 240 mhash with my 7770 using bitminter client (I couldn't squeeze out more than 230 using cgminer). I got mine on sale for $65 a while back. Definitely don't pay 180 euros, if you are using it only for bitcoin mining, you are guaranteed never to make anywhere close to that amount back.

I get about 215 mh/s out of mine. Power usage is really low iirc. hash/w is 1.8..

Its a great filler in my main rig.
