now BTC again fast like before..few minutes and confirmed 100%! not like few days ago i need 12h+ ;)

What transaction fee did you pay to the miners?

My transaction has been stuck for last 2 and half hours.
The transaction fee was less than 1mbtc.

There is time when Bitcoin transaction is fast and there are times it is not.  But one thing I noticed, transaction sent in electrum  wallet confirms faster.  This maybe because of the dynamic fee option where we can send bitcoin without worrying the fee since it adjust to the latest minimum fee to make our transaction confirmed faster.

sent some btc to yobit and the transaction was complete in 1 hour without any problem.Is it possible that transaction time differs region wise?May be we have fast transactions here in Asia due to low transactions volume

Yeah its swings and round abouts, just go with the flow and dont complain in the bad times, it will get fixed eventually.

He must have to get it within the time he said he received them. Or it was a very small transaction in which the recommended fee was just as much as the sent amount itself. :D

Yeah right?! It is really fast and I mean fast as super fast. I did send some bitcoins to my cousin on the Christmas day and it didn't even have a delay even for a bit, it is delivered for just a small amount of time and all what I will do is just to swipe. I wish many people can use these to send their bitcoins or money, it is really fast.

Put your fees over 50k satoshi and it will be going fast. I did it below 15 minutes. more fees and more priority. I guess the network in the stable condition right now.  ;)

Yup its fast now ,no hassle and confirmation in few seconds. We can already know if we made the transaction in a right time. Hope it will really be stable to have more transactions. Nice one btc.

This is not an accurate topic as bitcoin transactions slows down and does free up in a couple of hours or even after a few days. This happens every few days or weeks. It just happens and this is really because of the limitation of bitcoins we have currently. I just hope that segwit does get approve and this would really speed up the transactions.

Well for many of users here transaction confirmation time depends on the miners/transaction fee that you will going to pay for your transaction, If you pay high miner fee then you can expect that transaction confirmation time will be fast however when you pay low transaction fee then you can expect that your transaction confirmation time will be longer.

The speed actually depends on your fees. The higher the fees. Ofcourse, the faster the transaction to confirm. The lower the fee. The longer you wait for confirmation. Just like you buy vip airplane ticket. Its expensive, but you are their priority. And cheap airplane ticket dont enough privelege.

i am not trying to send any bitcoin amount so i don't know how fast it this, but i remember the last time when i send to my friend, i add the fee something about 0.0005 btc maybe its about 0.0006 btc and its fast to get confirmation for first time. i think if the the is above 0.0005 btc, the transaction gets fast confirming but it would be depend on how big the traffic of the network.

My transactions were so quick today, amazing feeling to send and receive BTC so smoothly.  :D

I've done a few transactions and paid 0.0002 for each on of them less than 200 bytes and confirmed below 30 minutes, as much as I like to pay less fees but for the sake of bitcoin and my nerves still willing to pay as high as 0.0005 in 2017.

bitcoin transactions are always fast and also confirmation are always fast as long as you pay higher fees that the rest of the world hence the word fee war.
not much has changed compared to previous days. there are still a large amount of unconfirmed transactions (16.8K by the time of typing this and the fee/byte is still high as 120!

It will go on like this, until a proper scaling solution are in place. The people behind these spam attacks will spam the Blockchain, and then the Mempool will create a backlog. The users will increase their miners fees and the greedy miners will come in to save the day and collect all those "increased" fees.

The Block reward is not enough payment, they want more and more and more. ^hmmmmmmm^

I did not felt that I'm using a local wallet and they are the one who is giving fees to make all the transactions fast.it took my local wallet 10 to 30 minutes to confirmed,which is good compare when I'm using blockchain which sometimes took 5 hours or long to confirm,can you post what wallet are you using and are you the one setting the fee?

fee doesn't rally matter at those point, because if you have 3 transaction per seconds, or the correct number to saturate the block, that have payed higher fee than your, your TX will always be delayed

I don't think it is automatically confirmed . Because I faced the same problem much .
Actually confirmation depends upon the fact that how much you paid for the given amount of transaction of your bitcoin .
If transaction charge is very less in comparison to the amount of btc transacted then it is usual that it will take much time for the transaction .
Well here I got a new experience during the transaction unconfirmation we e can succefully send our bitcoin or receive our bitcoin with confirmation fast , it only need to give more transaction charge .
I made payout from yobit , it takes about 0.0005btc as an transaction and it got confirmed within 10 minute  easily , so hiving more transaction charge is a best way to recover from such problems .

I think there are some cabals in the mining space trying to jack up the transaction fee by all means, that is why they are against SegWit and lighting network passing because with Hard fork to 2MB there is still probability of spamming the network and having this same scenario playing out again

I do not think it is about the fee. The blockchain and miners have solved the unconfirmed transactions issue and now everything is fine. you can easily send Bitcoin and receive 1 confirmation only in a minute. I hope that we will never experience this issue again. God. We do really need the SegWit

That is what happen if you are going to pay the fees on right amount or if not you did paid it on higher amount.

Because those transactions that are experiencing delay and long confirmation to their transactions aren't paying fees so they are experiencing delay.

Yes, Paying fees nearly solved the problem for now but we do need a technology like segwit to be added to Blockchain. That will be a permanent solution which has more advantages too.

Maybe because there was only few transactions processing on the blockchain that time, that is why your bitcoin was confirmed in the blockchain in just a few minutes. But most of the time, every transactions in the blockchain take 20-30 minutes the longest is an hour for each transaction to be confirmed because of too many transactions existing in the blockchain in a single day that passed by.

The main reason here is because there are too many bitcoin transactions than bitcoins population,  causing traffic in the blockchain resulting this kind of situation where many transactions are waiting to be confirmed, because it is First In First Out process in the blockchain.

It was probably due to small bitcoin transaction activities that occurred just recently. When the price of bitcoin dropped the bitcoin users have temporarily stopped doing transactions and they will resume again when bitcoin will reach 1000$ again. Presumably the are just holding their coins before they dispose or use them and when that time happens the transaction volume will reach climax again driving confirmation to be slow again.

Are you sure its fast ? can you tell your transition details , well its 100% confirmed as more you pay the fee you get more fast transition i think its all depend on the fee that you pay during transition

I think it is just a coincidence that your transaction is fast than you expected well there are instant that transaction was very weird and will try not to wallop in your liking, but I think the process of BTC speed was just a mere coincidence my was always smooth with it's speed but there are 1 time my transaction was held for 2 days and that is weird for me cause that's the first time it happen.

I also think that nothing has changed for the last few days as no one is working on this confirmation delay issue. If you confirmation early than before than either you have paid a high fee or you're just lucky to get it through quickly. I am saying lucky because i have seen tx delaying more than usual even on higher transaction fee.

today i am sending some amount bitcoin and it gets full confirmed transaction in about one hour. i think it is not about fast or not, maybe the network is busy so our transaction is not getting fast confirmation. but if we see that is one transaction is made, then i am sure the amount will be receive in the destination wallet so we need to wait.

Sometimes its happening to me even i am paying a large fee for every transaction some of my transaction are delay and mostly 10 minutes its been confirmed and not all transaction size are the same i really do not understand the transaction why there are some transaction are high size that can affect the speed of transaction.. i think they need to upgrade and they added a feature to see the transaction size first so that they can manually choose the best fee before they send so that if we are really need bitcoin fast we can know how much the fee we are need to pay..

And it takes 1 hour in half delay even i pay of 50k sat in transaction and 1403 for the size.. I dont know why i have large transaction size.
Also i notice that there is a changes fee per byte added on the transaction..  looks like they are increase the fee instead of 10ksat/kb

Time for confirmation actually depends upon your transaction fee but it is also true that recommend fee will get higher when mempool is full, actually few days ago mempool was full so fee to get confirmation within few minutes got high upto 130 satoshi/byte. Seems like some days are good for transactions and some not. My transactions today were also fast and sometimes takes hours. But still lot of people are complaining about the big fees and unconfirmed transactions. It looks like this could be often the problem in the future that we should face with.

It depends on the transaction fees and the timing of the transaction of bitcoin. Suppose if you will pay higher fees for the transaction of bitcoin then you will find the confirmation faster and due to the timing if you send the transaction in a time when not much people will transact their bitcoins then your one will get confirmation faster.

If your transaction is stuck unconfirmed all you need to do is copy transaction id and there is high chance your tx will be pushed through.

The only requirement is that it needs to be transaction where you included 0.0001BTC/KB fee already. Transactions with no fee included are not eligible for this.

It's funny how some people really think the network has become faster, lol. It's just a larger fee that made sure your transaction confirmed sooner than usually happens - in combination with that not long after you having made that transaction, a block was found where your transaction was included in. Aside from the fees, some times it takes 45 minutes to just get 1 confirmation, and some times you get 3 confirmations within 15 minutes. Nothing new or special.

Bitcoin confirmation time is not a tipical random time for it to be confirmed one of the major reason why Bitcoin confirmation time is slow or fast is it because of it's transaction fee ! if you pay higher fee then you're confirmation will be faster when you pay lower miners fee then expect to have a slow transaction confirmation time

Not only the transaction fees is the reason for delay in confirmation but even heavy transaction are also the reason of delay in confirmation, and this happens when their is any big movement in the bitcoin or other altcoins.

I agree with you their is also other reasons aside from transaction fee that it takes too long before it gets confirmed but most of the time especially me When I pay higher fee , higher than the minimum allotted fee Confirmation can be confirmed easily even it has heavy transaction

I agree with you. It's all about fees and maybe luck as you said. Transactions can be fast confirmed if you put enough fees. Today my transaction confirmed in less than 1 hour and this is really good because some days before, transactions stay more than 5 hours to be confirmed.

Its good to have back the time we were loosing waiting the transactions to get confirmed, but once again this happen already 2-3 times already without any solution, besides force us to raise our fees to make our transaction go further and fast as possible.

It depends actually. Like for example, if you will send your bitcoin via blockchain to another blockchain bitcoin wallet, then it would be faster compare if you are going to send bitcoin via blockchain to another bitcoin wallet address like in bitcoin address in C-CEX.COM, because it will take 20-30 minutes depends again on the transactions that are being process in the blockchain.

Yeah, it always has been like that. It does not matter if it is 10BTC or 100 bits, if it has more ins and outs, it will be larger and need higher transaction fees.

Updates might have taken place. Lot of users have experienced a very fast transaction and confirmation compared to the recent days with the same transaction fee. Recent days its been discussed as a big issue which slow down the functioning of the bitcoin network.

Well a lot of debates are happening with SegWit and I thought that will be used and implemented last year but it seems not.

You have a good point in there. There are cases like that that if for example you send bitcoin from blockchain.info wallets to another wallet within the site itself, the bitcoin that has been sent will just appear automatically in your balance. But if you try to send bitcoins from this site to another site like coins.ph it will take an hour or more before the actual balance will be confirmed and be credited to your balance. But of course the only thing we could do today is to use one site or to increase the miners fee to make the transaction confirmation much faster.

Well, after some unpleasant incident, eventually bitcoin back into the transaction quickly, and the price is now starting to rise again. it based on the same thing about fee priority, you actually will not pay less, it just prioritize the first 100 one so the one among those 100 who pay more will get is TX confirmed quickly before the other

Maybe you paid the right price for the transaction to be done faster or you didn't have a choice. Try to make it lower and you will feel the slowness of sending it again. There is no proof yet that the transactions are getting faster but I do hope it will also. It gets frustating sometimes even with slow amounts.

the first time I used it was when nobody really knew about the service and it was still new. I was waiting to receive a payment and I used viabtc acceleration thing and it worked well enough for me.
I used it a couple more times but each time the transaction was mined by someone else before viabtc can find a block! but it is a good service to know about in case you were stock receiving a transaction with lower fees and there were no other way for you to change that since you are not the one sending the transaction.

Beyond the right fee (as we still need 40k satoshi as low priority fee still 2 days back we needed 100k), the unconfirmed total transactions got reduced from mammoth 60k transactions to under 10k as of now.

When low number of bitcoins remain unconfirmed, the reasonable right  (low priority) fee included transactions will get fast confirmations and it is happening right now.

Ya I agree with op this is happening suddenly. Last few days the transactions were going so slow and suddenly they are now speeding it up. Last night I received a good amount of btc at quick speed. Looks like good days for btc now just the price also shoots up it will be more merrier for us. But is my logic right that higher the price slower the transaction and lower the price higher the transaction. Bitcoin transaction confirmation depends on the traffic of transactions and fees paid by the bitcoin users. In other words, bitcoin transaction confirmation model is dynamic and varies from time to time (period of confirmation). As of now, there are around 5,000 unconfirmed transactions (which is far better than the situation 10 days ago) but still, we cannot be sure that this situation will remain like this forever so this is one of the characteristics of it.

Yes it's great to have faster Bitcoin confirmations because the slow pace was driving my nerves crazy plus the division's it was creating by offering quicker confirmations for huger payments and slower confirmations for normal/slow transactions; all in all its good today.

There is no region prioritizing in bitcoin. Blockchain doesn't care where your transaction originates from.
What matters for transaction to confirm faster is if fee/size ratio, if you include a hefty fee then your transaction should be confirmed in the next block.

I noticed that too and even when I apply small transaction fee to the sending amount it still sends and confirms as fast like it was before sending the same amount.
I do not know why it slowed down and even stopped the send to complete just a couple of days before. :-\

Yeah, most people do not like the time of confirmation of bitcoin transactions. Because some people including myself have experienced quite a long time confirmation even I had to wait 2 hours for the first confirmation.

if the situation will stay better in future, i think we don't have to be worried when we want to send bitcoin to other wallet, i hope that the transaction will be fast confirming so there is no waiting time to long to see the completed confirmation. i am sure that there will be more than 1,000 transaction to be confirmed in a day but if the traffic is not busy and the blockchain is working good, then 1,000 transaction will be completed in short of time and it is good for bitcoin user itself.

There is issue in confirmation time but that can be avoided if you pay higher fees and it would be done in few minutes as I have never faced any issue with delay in confirmation as every time I send or receive I make sure that it has been sent with the higher fees.

There is no such a thing as "having faster Bitcoin confirmations". You either include a proper fee and greatly increase your chances of having your transaction confirmed within 2 blocks, or you be stingy and include a poor fee where you may end up waiting for plenty of hours, till in some cases a whole day or more. But still, regardless of the fees, you are still depending on how frequent pools solve blocks at the time you send your transaction. You have to understand that micro/faucet transactions are mostly seen as spammy/dusty, and thus they mostly don't get picked up by pools, unless you make them pick it up due to a hefty fee.

Well maybe you are right in giving a large amount of fee the faster some transaction would be and I think they would take the large amount first before the small once, but I wish this kind of transaction would be much faster in the near future because of the value of bitcoin right now I think that change will surely come in the way transaction would be deliver.

This is good news and we hope it stays this way and not mess up like a couple of weeks ago because one must important factor that drew some of us to Bitcoin was the fact that the transaction fees per transfer was low and it's confirmations were faster unlike recently.

Alot of improvement from what we have few days back. Even in prices, I will say I was depressed the way bitcoin price drop sharply after exchangers in china has meeting with people bank of china. Bitcoin price drop more than a hundred dollar and confirmation was slower than before. But today the price has gone up again hope to see more improvement.

Is it possible that there are differences in fees for each transaction with same nominal? I never did bitcoin transactions in large amounts.

Blockchain pending transactions & uncomfirmed yesterday, I thought it was just a matter of panic because some wallet providers implement new fees, and some trade markets frozen temporarily (pause). Today, transaction smoothly after maintenance carried out by blockchain, and it affects the price of bitcoin.

In my experience here by doing trade in the market trading the exchange that I usually used was novaexchange, bittrex, and yobit, you don't need to wait long  before it confirms. And most of the time many of the unconfirmed transactions happened if the fee charge was very low sometimes it takes 2 to 3 days before it confirms in the blockchain.

Buddy normally it takes 20 to minutes to get confirmation to move to the trading site wallet but in recent it took more than 2 or 3 hours. So this news be great I guess. Again bitcoin transaction would faster like before. Thanks for the global mining team.

At the time of writing this post, there are around 3,000 unconfirmed transactions and I think even if a transaction takes 24 hours to get confirmed, I will still prefer bitcoin as it will be faster and cheaper than other payment options on the international level. Using any other method would surely cost more charges than that of bitcoin so I think 24 hours is fine on the international level but it would be a headache for local transactions.

It is right, bitcoin transaction wise very fast and easier way than others for us. Before bitcoin i was using Western Union, but it fee very high, and when i used bitcoin than it really give me easy and less fee to pay for amount transaction.   

Still I need to pay 35k+ satoshi per KB for a definite confirmation in next 2 or 4 blocks. I remember we had the practice of paying around 10 cents per KB then it would be only 10k satoshi with respect to current prices of bitcoins.

Really I am dreaming of 1 satoshi per transactions as I have some dust amounts of bitcoins from some faucets unmoved waiting for better tx fees.

I never had any transaction problem but once and that to I took 5 hrs to confirm.
Now when I make payment it confirms very quickly which is very good.
So now I don't have to wait much before using the thing I have purchased.
Like if I have purchased a game , as soon as my transaction gets confirmed.
I can play that game. So it's good to hear that the transactions are pretty fast now.

yeah i think  is really very fast and cheap from other transections sites ..... paypal or western union i think  is way better than them........

there is always an end to every spam attack on the network. our luck is that when they start spam attack it will cost them and this cost is also increasing with the amount of fees which means the more they do it they also have to increase the fees they pay too.
so it certainly can not go on forever.

It's probably been something like a few days since the last spam attack we had happening, glad to see the queue is smaller and most of the transactions have been resolved.

It's a shame we end up experiencing spam attacks so often, however I would say that it luckily is a bit more broken up than it otherwise could be.

So it is much clear that if you pay the sufficient or higher fees for the transaction to get confirmed soon, other wise wait for long time to get confirmation.

Pay the average fee or even higher for your transaction would be prioritize by the miners and as you said the lower the fess the longer the wait on confirming your tx.
Regarding on bitcoin price movement i could say that there are really times that there are lots of unconfirmed transactions.

An hour is alot quicker than before so it has improved so far. I was in the nnee to cash out hours ago because I need to oay something so I sent some to a bank and took an hour.

When sending soME BTC it will conrfirm so fast.  It takes a minutes to confirm the BTC as it depends on the amount you have and it will confirm so fast.

I thought segwit is already dead. Segwit requries 95% consensus out of the total population of the miners around the globe. At this point of time segwit has already made 25% consensus and it is far away from the 95% target. Will segwit really move on to the next level and be adopted by the miners or it will just die before it will be implemented. It is unclear but I dont like to support instead I prefer that all miners just agree to the 8mb block size increase.

But 8mb blocksize will not be much?.. A Qt will take forever to sync, i think miners just have to give a chance to SegWit. Or just try out in LTC to see how it works

Yeah I think he meant that. There are millions spam transactions on the Blockchain we still not know how to deal with it. It has made a lot of troubles including slowing the confirmation.

I think the most logical step would be to lower the support percentage required to reach consensus among pools. But even if so, then it will still be difficult to reach the adjusted target. It's mind boggling how pools are holding back Bitcoin's growth with all their nonsense. Supporting Segwit is the only right decision. If you support anything other than Segwit, you're basically supporting an outside entity to force through their potentially poisonous way of handling/thinking.

I agreed on this matter, Electrum is fast as long as the fee is in moderate level.  But never adjust the in electrum at the lowest rate because it will surely your transaction will delay the unconfirmed and if that it will take 48 hours before it confirms. Because the higher fee you make is the higher fees priority ;D

What you say doesn't make any sense... There are no issues with the blockchain, and thus there is nothing that has been fixed. The only issue are the stingy people that don't know how to adapt to the situation where mempools are stacked with large amounts of transactions. In this case, adapting to the situation is to add appropriate fees where you pay attention to the fee/byte ratio. Not sure what desktop wallet client (or online wallet) you are using, but in case of Bitcoin Core, it will give you a fee estimate as to what it thinks is appropriate according to the situation and your transaction of course. It doesn't mean you are forced to go with what the wallet client suggests, but it's either that, or you being stingy with fees where it results in many hours of waiting.

because of the block size of bitcoin and still there are not solution about that until right now.

I think it just changed for a while from the February 9 but it's resettled back to its high transactions fees and delayed confirmations time. I wish it changes for good because this is driving many crazy.

I already experience fast bitcoin confirmation for now but a few weeks ago it takes hour to confirm and now it just takes my bitcoins 20 minutes to confirm and that was a great experience because we all know that bitcoin network is getting bigger amount of users so i already expect to wait for a bit long time for my next future transactions.

I do not have  bad experience on any of my transaction not too much delay but I hear some people got problem in it but I'm lucky not belong to them my last transaction this day took only less than 20mins.

Well I had an experince once and it took 1 day for my transaction to transfer but I think it just occur on random occasions but there are a lot in the forum that are experiencing it but my guess are it is just dump luck for some but there are many says that giving larger fees can make it really faster well this issues I wish it can be solve in the future, because Bitcoin really can become the worlds united currency.

This is very progressive to us nowadays and transactions is always prompt and I don't experienced any delays of payments in my wallet. I loved it so fast and bitcoin coin would do a lot of good impressions to all users, and at the same time it can influence a lot of individuals who are willing to do transactions using digital currency. People who happens to knew bitcoin through advertisements and campaigns would really love btc fast and brought excitements.

There is a time when a bitcoin transaction is so fast to be confirmed,
And there is a time where it took days or more to confirm a transaction.

today I do transactions with bitcoin, and it happened in a few hours. Well, I think, bitcoin transactions that occurred today, better than yesterday, because some of these days, so many pending confirmation, and in fact, there is a wait of more than two days.

Which means blockchain is good to use to put our bitcoin unto it. I never try to storage my bitcoin in blockchain though I heard some says its good to use. I think this time I'm gonna try to storage some of my bitcoins there. At the present I used electrum wallet.

I am wondering about something. What if you make your bitcoin transaction fee really high. Like say you transfer 50btc and pay 0.02 bitcoin or more. How fast would that go ? I wonder what the fastest time is. Lately the chain has been slowish but I'm not worried it still works just fine and transaction go through eventually. Its just of you need the btc right then and there you must put the correct amount of fee or you will have to wait and sometimes that is not an option unfortunately.

well those days are long at the moment because the blocks are very full nowadays and in the future it will be even harder to get your transaction confirmed really fast, though if the segwit gets activated the problem would be solved really easily and even if the segwit does not get activated we need to do something about it like allowing bigger blocks because without it bitcoin will be less and less attractive for people.

There have been very few unconfirmed transactions for the past 24hrs and probably because of that any transaction with normal fees or even some with below average fees might go through sooner. The number of Unconfirmed transactions are about 3400 right now which I think is low. Anything under 6000 is good to have and blockchain will work like the good old blockchain we know.

Not only under 6000 but and with about 10000 unconfirmed transactions the network is working really fast in very reasonable confirmation time. But the way I see it is only matter of time. That is, last two months we had If I'm not mistaken, about 3 times where the network was under spamming attack. Unfortunately I think that most days of the week and especially the working ones this situation will be repeated and probably with greater frequency. This could only be corrected after the resolution of the dispute about the segwit or blocksize adoption. Till now I always check the unconfirmed transactions (https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions) and I try to do all of my transactions, if is possible, only this period of time.
