Title: Neteller deposit declined.
Post by: Signex on February 11, 2017, 05:44:41 PM
Hello,

I'm new to bitcoin but know a little bit how it works.

I'm using neteller for a virtual CC and noticed they accept bitcoin so i decided to put all my bitcoin money into the wallet.
I paid succesfully with lowest fee by accident, but this worked before but just takes longer to process i've read.
Tried to add more fee and pay to the adress where the other fee went and thought that might speed up the process.

But now i noticed neteller declined the transaction with this message: Transaction request expired.
I have no idea what it means, i paid within 15min and it went out of my wallet.

Heres the blockchain link: https://blockchain.info/tx/2f7116075bede018476b35d3a3d2197157001aa1054f9377954dc8a79a0fbb4d

You should probably contanct neteller support because its their system and only they could help.
Anyway just try again with higher fee :)

Transaction didn't confirm in time.
Basically, the network knows you sent the coins, but don't know if the transaction is legitimate or not.
Neteller definitely has to wait for at least one confirmation, it's very risky to cheap out on the transaction fee here.

Hello,

bitcoin has some major congestion problems. unless you put in a stupid high fee your transaction won't confirm in time. a lot of merchants do the 15 minute confirmation thing but i don't know if that's going to be practical for much longer.

it will confirm eventually but you need to let neteller know what the score is asap. they'll have your coins arrive at some point.

I had a bad experience with them and was not able to access funds in my account so I never use netteller.

Regardless of confirmation numbers there is no need to timeout a transaction once it reached the mempool. In the event of a txid arrival Neteller should expand the timeout onto at least network average confirmation delays.
The fifteen minutes should only be applied on slacking customers.
