Title: where to buy BTC in £ sterling
Post by: ThePrisoner on April 17, 2013, 05:07:42 PM
I can't find anywhere to buy BTC in £ sterling.
Blockchain seems to have turned off UK deposits.
MT GOX has to be sent to Japan so that costs too much extra.
Any currency conversion adds 5-6% plus bank fees!!!!!

bitbargain.co.uk

You'd do well to buy at anywhere nearly as low as the online-exchange prices on those sites, however.

Because they can.

The Gox price is presumably lower than OTC 'cause it's so hard to get fiat onto the exchange, especially from the UK.

Similarly, goldbrokers have rapidly sold out of shiny stuff after lowering their prices in tandem with the reported paper spot price (Galmarley, etc.). I find that quite telling: paper "gold" isn't physical gold in the hand.

Because other people seem happy to pay 10% over the MTGOX price?!

Cheers, just registered for info. Will save facing the 100% mark-up when it opens.

Yes, it usually is, probably because it's even harder to move fiat into and out of BTC-e than Mt Gox.
