It allows you to save any message or up to 50 KiB files/pictures on the Bitcoin's block chain.

People have also used it to store wedding photos on the block chain (http://weddingbook.io/).

Do they show in blockchain.info as a message attached to a transaction or just in that website?

The messages show also in https://bitcoinstrings.com/ however it might not show unicode messages, not sure

so far I am aware of only cryptograffiti that is able to decode images and other media.

blockchain.info can show the messages only as hex strings when you enable advanced mode, for example this transaction:

Oh, that's takes time and not easy, I was thinking something like the transaction messages that rarely are shown in blockchain, I will check now if I can find an example.

It is explained just a post before you and mine, I appreciate Hyena for writing this post for us and explaining it in detail but I was thinking that it is something easier like a message in blokchain as ASCII not as HEX

It is in ASCII actually. This is exactly how bitcoinstrings service works. It scans plaintext messages from blocks. However, bitcoin address format is Base58 not ASCII so that's why you don't see those messages directly in blockchain.info. For technical people it is rather obvious how to read block chain messages so you can be sure that your messages are easily found by anyone who bothers to scan the block chain byte-by-byte.

There is a message, but when I paste cryptograffiti transaction id to chain.so it doesn't convert to a message

This message is internal to blockchain.info it is not saved on the block chain and thus cryptograffiti.info cannot see it.


This message is embedded behind OP_RETURN which only supports messages up to ~80 bytes of length. Cryptograffiti.info currently does not have full OP_RETURN support and that's why this message is not visible in cryptograffiti.info. Adding full OP_RETURN support is in the TODO list though  ;)

Inthebitcoin.com seems to be one similar to cryptograffiti.info too and here is a video explaining it a bit.

Welp, the site is not reachable for me right now.

Strange because according to my log files everything has been properly online for the whole time. Is it still unreachable? In what sense is/was it not reachable for you?
