Title: Best Altcoins and Sleepers in Concept.
Post by: Jfresh on February 16, 2017, 07:35:19 PM
Hey Guys,
New to the forum. I have been investing in Bitcoin and altcoins for a few years. I thought I would start a discussion on some favorite altcoins as well as some "Sleepers". As Warren Buffet always suggests, it is best to support projects you personally find intriguing and interesting. I prefer to support projects that really captivate my interest in their potential or actualized value.  Here are some of my favorite ones right now:

Bitcoin:
This one is pretty obvious. Bitcoin has paved the way for alternative currencies and while it may be in some way inferior to some of the new altcoins on the market, it has proven itself as a stable and reliable investment. I like Bitcoin for its' first mover advantage. While I see a lot of potential in some of the altcoins, I would be very surprised in seeing the Scenario where blockchain technology and alternative currencies succeed and Bitcoin fails.

Monero:
Being that Bitcoin has proven to not be the ideal currency for true anonymity, Monero is currently king of the anonymous coin mountain. While there have been criticisms, I think it has a reasonable chance to become the coin of choice for anonymity.

MaidsafeCoin:
I find the Maidsafe concept fascinating and while I can't say for sure whether it will catch on, I love the idea. With its unique offerings, I see it having very possible mainstream use cases in the future.

Ethereum:
Ethereum isn't the first coin to excite investors by the prospects of smart contracts and the like. Nonetheless, I see the value in its offerings and while I am not yet convinced whether it will actualize its potential, its a worthy hedge.

Sleeper:

Grantcoin: Grantcoin is my favorite value pick right now. It is the first altcoin that I am aware of to be an officially recognized 501(c)(3) non -profit. Further they have basically created a Universal Basic Income coin. It has already had 4 or 5 successful distributions and something like 1,500 signups from 80 countries. I love the idea behind this and if it is successful it would be a great philanthropic addition to the altcoin world.

What are your favorite mainstream coins as well as a sleeper or two?

The best deep sleeper on the market right now is Pepecash. If there is one thing shitcoin investors love it's memes, and Pepecash is a currency used to run a literal exchange of memes. Genius idea and it's still largely unknown, not even listed on any big exchanges despite large volume on the shit-tier tuxechange.

Also, a UBI coin doesn't really make sense around these parts. Nobody gives a shit about helping out the poor everyone is only here to make a profit. And people won't put money into a charitycoin if it doesn't provide profit.

I consider a very important coin the anonymity of composes.
But from the list provided, neither of them not provide a full anonymity.

Monero and Maidsafe is the only Altcoins that have a purpose inside the technology realm. If anyone doesn't know about it already then look at there Announcement threads:

Monero: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0
Monero is a really good project because if you haven't noticed -the posts are catered to people who like to help develop the coin. So with that said, there isn't much hyped up pumping posts.

MaidSafe: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579797.0
Maid Safe is also good, the system features has been constantly updated and many people on Bitcointalk are posting inputs within the thread. When the real thing is launched the coin might be worth a few bucks.

Sleepers is TMTM  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731471.new#new
And you need pay royalty to use it.

Also, your list is shit ICO crap.
Sleepers are actual networks without premine that have low market caps and no hype, yet have unique algorithm features.

Example, PASCAL, that was a sleeper that blew up.

Example, UNO, this is a sleeper that will blow up!

There are two alts that i think will be successful in future Brust (mining with spare HDD space) and Byteball (new consensus algorithm, untraceable payments).

Isn't Factom already doing something with the HDD space? Maidsafe also works with HDD space.

I have no idea about Byteball, from what I've heard, sounds too good to be true, must me something about it we aren't taking into account. Also, the coins are being distributed to bitcoin owners for free as far as i know, or some %, this may cause a big dump.
