All the Bond movies which somehow there is always gambling involved, Hangover movies :D damn almost every Hollywood movie has something to do with casinos and gambling.
I'd go for all Ocean's movies though.

For me it was definitely Rounders, I just love a good Poker movie and the fact that it has Matt Damon is just awesome.
Doesn't score too bad on IMDB either, 7.4 out of 10 ;)

I only voted for one gambling movie and the best gambling movie that I know and watched a lot of times, 21.These guys are epic and so awesome!
Taking down the house really is a hard task, but with these guys it is just easy as a piece of cake, How can everyone do that in real life, i think he will be an instant millionaire. After that movie I did learn how to play blackjack, though I can't do what they can in the movie.

I like the Ocean's movie series, Brad Pitt is cool and a bunch of famous A++ actors were in it as well. Although the whole movie consisted of just stealing items and sort of blackhat Casino playing, it was nice to see the dark side of Gambling because there isn't as much movie directors doing those type of movies.

I don't know if anyone seen it, it has Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman in it. I recommend it to anyone who actually bets without reasoning.

i like 21 but Probably the best casino movie in my opinion is a movie Casino. In fact this film adaptation of the non-fiction book titled Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas written by Nicholas Pileggi

The Cooler - starring William H. Macy is a nice, low key, under the radar gambling movie.

The unluckiest man in Vegas - a guy whose bad luck is contagious - is used by the last of the old time mob run casinos to kill high rollers' action. That is, until he falls in love with a cocktail waitress and gets "lady luck," which throws the situation into reverse. Things turn nasty when the casino director tries to break up the romance.

For me its the hustler because it is good gamble movie. People are actually insane in that movie. A good ending movie and a good climax movie so therefore it is a better movie i guess. It is also pertain to cards and to coin which is tge duel of several players the hero or "bida" in that movie is awesome.

Ocen's eleven is best but some of movies I didn't watch yet but I'll watch it and post feedback later. thanks for the list.

I liked Al Pacino for Two for the money and Ocean's Eleven. (The whole series) None of the other titles really stood out so I probably have yet to watch it.
Will watch Rounders for Matt Damon and Rainman for Tom Cruise.

For online gambling you'll find some documentry or video on youtube I've yet to seen or heard about any movie on online gambling.

21 is sort of my favorite movie. I like the poker ones too, but a lot of them feature action which is sort of unreal and impossible in real life. 21 however shows something which is closest to the truth and has actually happened, so is fun at the same time.

I think i have seen it. If i remember, this is actually based on a novel right? It is about the guy who has some problem in daily functioning but he is quite good in certain aspect. I may have get this wrong but it is really a long long time ago movie that i watched it once.

Its his brother who is autistic. Lead role is Tom Cruise. Its an awesome movie, but I don't remember it being about gambling in any way ?

21 is one of the best gambling that I watch too.
I like how they beat the dealer by using their techniques in blackjack and I like the ending too.

Casino, Rounders, Ocean eleven and 21 are actually my favourites. Each of them are very interesting to watch and none of them loses their climax half way throughout the movie.

For me also 21 is the bets gambling movie ever. In this film only I got to know how the mathematic calculations will work in gambling. It is an excellent movie and fully entertained with knowledge movie. After watching this movie me and my friends tried some new strategies in 3 card poker game but it does not work for us.

21 is the best. I really enjoy this game. The film is absolutely awesome and it tells a story about a young man who wants to earn money to attend to his favorite university. And then, because of being desperate, he have to accept make money in a not good way: gambling. I do not want to spoil the whole film here but I really recommend you guys to watch it

I have choses Ocean eleven series and so on same as other members been chose here. Its the best gambling movie ive ever seen and i cant forget that nice movie.

My favourite gambling movie must be Ocean's eleven. I have also watched Ocean's twelve and thirteen. All were very nice.

Casino Royale this is my favourite movies and i have been watching this movies several times

I love to watch Ocean's Eleven it is really a smart movie how they can planned an organized scammed and they do it with style, and I also like to watch 21, the movie really show that you can beat the system, the one that I don't like is the part when they beat the man who count the card, for me it is not really cheating because they were counting not replacing any card, they supposed to banned the team not to beat the man

never heard about that movie before , would check it out later sounds like interesting. i have watched the gambler (2014) starred by Mark Wahlberg , really love the last scene of that movie , he have a lot of debt but then decide to make a real 'gambling' by stake everything they have on black , fortunately he won it and just pay all the debt with his winning in the roulette game, you guys might want to add it to the list?

I don't know these movies that you have mentioned, but I know that they are all good because you are not going to post it here if they are not, right? I know a movie about gambling also, and it is called " The lord of Gambling", it is a card game which the protagonist is undefeatable because he is really good at it. I suggest you guys to watch it, because it is really awesome, and the lesson of the movie would remain in our hearts.

I would also try one of the movies that you have mentioned, because gambling movies is one of the Genre of movies that I love to watch. :)

Runner runner and 21 is a good movie and you can learn a lot about gambling and tricks in certain games. the movie what I like is 211, there you can find out in blackjack game you can always won if you can count cards.

Actually its about autism. In 1988 autism is not known much. Also there is scene in hospital. Doctor assistant girl dont know what is autism. Dustin Hoffman's performance is epic. You can think ''Is Dustin Hoffman really autistic?'' coz he act amazing. He can count the card. So Tom cruise want to use his abilty in casino. But all movie dont related in gambling. Movie try to make an awareness about autism.

Where is the king of gamblers the man who can read card even in black jack or other gambling poler something like that i love the way on how he can read card what will be the next draw.

Although it is not a movie but a series my favorite series about casinos was Breaking Vegas if you have not watched then do it, it was about the persons behind the methods used to beat casinos, every episode concentrated on different real people and how they did it, some of the people that come to mind are the father of card counting, his successors, a person that used computers to card count, someone that beat the roulette and many more interesting episodes.

Casino, story about Vegas and how everything started. Ocean's eleven is also nice movie, but it's more about criminal then about gambling. Breaking Vegas is new for me, I'm just googling it and it looks great I will watch it, thanks for recommendation.

Never watch and heard that 21 movie. most of the movie that i watch on tv are casino royale and king of gamblers..
The series of king of gamblers is one of the good movie to me not all about gambling there are also fighting and good in thriller.
The oher good part that i want is how they are analyzing the game and if they know the exactly what will be the result they will bet all and win..

Casino, Rounders and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
Rounders - there is nothing better than good poker movie, and acting crew is excellent.
Casino - less gambling, more mobster movie, but excellent one, as all De Niro's movies.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - main story in this movie is about drugs, not gambling. I enjoy watching Depp, excellent actor too.

You guys are right, the character that Tom Cruise plays has a brother that was autistic and they went to a Casino and won money because Raymond Babbitt (Dustin Hoffman) could count cards.

I know it's a little bit far from what you guys consider Whitehat Gambling but it is definitely Blackhat Gambling. Any type of style of Gambling is considered as Gambling from my point of view. It was only a few scene's that featured it.

I love bond movies and casino royale is one of my favorite. However i haven't watched many of the movies that are listed in polls so i have voted casino royale which i have watched for 2-3 times.  ;D

Its really hard but if you guys aiming to achieve it theres a lots of information that you can gather regarding to this game and with continous practice and trials maybe you can achieve your goal but since it is still gambling chances is still low and risk still big in losing your money.

Well i haven't watched all the mentioned movies yet but among all of those that i've seen, oceans eleven would be my choice. Though i think zach galifianakis' scene in the hangover is one of my favorite gambling sequences and it gave me quite a good laugh.

Of all the listed movies there, I was surprised no one voted for King of Gamblers, thats my favorite till date even though its been a while since I watched, if opportunity presents itself, I am still going to love to re-watch the movie and the reason is because its a blend between action, crime and gamble to drive home points...

as a poker fan, rounders would be my favorite among the movies listed here, i think a lot of gamblers would find this movie amusing and pretty relatable. and i think this is one movie that directly tackles gambling itself and how different people handles it. it's also a fun movie if you're into poker

Yes ive seen this movie too and it really thrills me off when does he tend to bet all or stake everything on that black even i myself couldnt able to dare such action but well its a movie its scripted but based on real life story. Well two movies which are completely based on gambling are 21 and Lucky you . 21 shows almost everything about counting cards ( Blackjack ) and Lucky you shows about poker and I love both the movies . Apart from this " The Gambler " is a nice movie which shows how you can loose a lot in life because of gambling .

Depending on based on facts stories, 21 is one of the most gambling movie I've watched. As an engineering student where we have a subject like probability and statistics, I kind to appreciate how the MIT students used mathematics to know the outcome of the game ( card counting ). I mean it takes raw talent and practice to do that.

Well I also enjoy the other gambling movies in the list but I've voted 21.

In my own point of view the movie 21 is a combination of talent ideas teamwork and educational background because if you happen to watch the movie the leader or the actor who acted as the manager for the team who will gamble in the casino to playthe game 21 or what we call black jack used his talent and brilliant student and persuade them to use there talent in numbers in card reading which they have applied in the real game of 21 and black jack. Which resulted to an astonishing win win situation.

I really liked 21. I don't know how true that story is, they probably added extra to make it a good movie, but it's still awesome that someone manage to get profit from casinos, forcing them to change the way a game works. The movie itself is good even if it wasn't based on a true story, so it's definitely my favourite gambling movie.

For me also 21 is the best gambling movie. apart from this I never saw full gambling movie. It is really interesting to watch this movie. I think it is fully scripted not the real story. From the beginning, it holds people to watch the full movie. In this movie only I learned how calculations would work in gambling. And I used this movie some strategies in my real gambling life.

Yeah 21 is a one among the best that surely make a person to give at least a try to gambling if he watches the movie. Though it is completely a scripted one the way it was screened is quite good that even common man enjoy it.

The screenplay of 21 is amazing. The work they have put in into each and every scene is really commendable. Every person who knew something about gambling tried those strategies after the movie, used to watch it repeatedly when I was in college.
I don't know whether it'll qualify or not but "the wolf of the Wall Street" is also relatively gambling movie.. the hero gamble everything in the share market.. it would be nice if you add that movie also.

Rounders is a great movie about poker. It shows how professional players can win just by reading the other players. They were also con men in the movie and it showed some of that dark side of gambling.

The Gambler was a pretty good movie. I like the whole fact that the gambler was just a regular person throughout the movie and wasn't some really famous guy that won a whole lot of money just by gambling. I usually like the underdog rising on the comeup type of movies because it give the movie viewers a little bit of hope and  some excitement for the main character to see if he/she will be a successful person or not.

For me it is the move 21. It's quite nice and it opened my eyes to the possibility of counting cards. I never knew it was possible until I saw this movie and read about it (I read about it because I watched the movie). I guess this could be done, but you have to be really good at math and remembering things.

I would vote for 21. I am really amazed on how they planned to take the house down by using math skills in playing the games. I always believe that winning gambling is based on how lucky you are. You may use strategies on the game or by simply playing but winning is equal to lucky chances. I like how my idea about gambling was suddenly altered because of this movie.

Yeah but "21" looks like out of rasional because they can spare a lot of friend to count card against house, i like thisit movie maybe only one movie can make you have imagine can live within gambling and runner runner is one a lot of movie can accept in our rasional.

Actually, I realize mostly in every English movies are using the gambling casinos, and all heroes have done a roll of gamblers. So it is good, but i like mostly James bond's movies. Also my memory is not good to remember the name of gambling's movies. Only i see and get enjoy and than forget about it.

Not just in English/Hollywood movies, in our local language too we are getting more gambling/caption are based movies now a days. It is just based on people's taste changes like we are finding something different is more interesting.

I would like to also vote for the movie 21. It is a great movie and I think it is very realistic since we all know that in gambling, the house would never like to be beaten and has never been beaten. I am an engineering student and I play poker but the possibility of beating the house using mathematics and statistics never came in my mind. I guess it is because I play poker just for fun.  :) The movie also shows the real life of gamblers who get addicted to playing. They have this target amount and will stop after reaching it but the greed consumes them which we also know is the main cause for being addicted.

i remember that i watched Ocean's Eleven, Casino Royal but i missed Rain Man story as i remember i've been sleeping in a theatre when Rain Man was played lol. i think the best movie is still oceans eleven but i don't know with other people choice because every one has giving different voted.

If the thrill of gambling were really about winning, there would be too few gamblers to support the multibillion-dollar Vegas gambling industry. Everybody knows that the odds are predetermined to favor the house, and that people play the games for the rush, not the payoff. Bettors are many, winners are few. That's what makes it a reliably profitable business. Like insurance. The premiums for participating in the game outweigh the payouts the company makes as incentives to keep the players playing.

It is dramatic because it's not just a movie it is based on a real life stories of the MIT balckjack team. Governed by the rules of mathematics, they easily take advantage of the game won. The problem is the people around you can't be calculated by any mathematics and that's the hard part. You won't know when well you get betrayed. Cryptocurrencies too, are governed by mathematics and a very promising thing but the problem is everyone's different views about it. Resulting in conflicts and digital wars.


The movie is really entitled "21". You can check it out in the web. It is a very good gambling movie especially because it's more than just gambling, there are sublet stuffs like friendship and relationship and inspired in a true to life story.

I believe so. I think there are a lot if tricks experienced gamblers and casino players use to their advantage even if its  deemed illegal. so it's not impossible that it as being done by real players. enjoyed watching king of gamblers as well especially because it came out when I was actively going to casinos also

Ys 21 is the movie name there is no other title for this movie. You just type 21 in google you will get the movie details. It is a fantastic movie for gamblers. The director narrated story with the point of how real gambler will cheat casino's and what all problems he will face if the casino knows that he is cheating.

This movie is really very impressive. Every gambler must like the film. The director told how we could make strategies in gambling clearly. And we found there are a lot of information regarding this gambling in this movie. And I like one more movie Ocean's Eleven this is also good to watch and entertaining.

Sadly, Ocean Eleven is the only gambling movie on the list that I remembered. Its cool to watch this kind movie because the scenery is so intense.
Have you ever watched the movie "Focus" starring Will Smith? There's a scene in this movie about gambling in a football game, its thrilling.

Besides those movies, I also want to recommend an Anime based on gambling. I recommend Kaiji, it is an anime that deals with gambling, psychology, society. It depicts how people become when they are addicted to gambling. It is really awesome. You should watch it. It has even moral lessons and can teach you lots of stuff about psychology and manipulation.

As you explain about gambling's movies, i think you have enough knowledge about movies of gamble.
Also i like these type of movies, but several times i watch Casino Royal, it is my most favorite movie because in it, i like my hero James band.
But in gambling all movies are good, because these type of movies give the people suspense, excitement and tricks how to play gambling.

Unfortunately the good story about play gambling games( get big betting, to be rich people in one night) will never be practice on the real gambling games, that is just on the movies and the movies of gambling games are very very entertainment, personality i like the gambling movies from China but the OP doesn't add them on this pool.

well for me the best gambling movie is casino royale where james bond is so awesome but all in all in the list that you've put that movies are all great and amazing. the reason why im watching gambling movies because they're teaching me on how to be responsible on the decision i've made and teaching me how to take a risk to get a good return.

Casino Royale is not complete only casino based movie. It is an action movie, and in this movie, i don't find any techniques how to win money in the casino. The gambling is the just base of this movie, but we have other movies only based on gambling techniques for example 21 and Ocean's Eleven here if you watch with full interest you can find many techniques how to build a good strategy with a group of people.

21 for me was a great, solid casino movie. nice storyline, great actors and believable plot

Don't enjoy watching gambling movies personally but if I had to choose from the lot in the poll, Casino Royal would be my pick.

A 007 thriller with the villain being a master class poker player, Bond makes it through and ultimately wins. The sheer scenes at the poker table, the hands, everything seems to be perfected for a nice viewer experience.

A lot of Hollywood here, but I think the Hong Kong movies like God of Gamblers that launched Chow Yun Fat deserve mention.

For me, British film from the 90s has a number of good movies. Lock, Stock (poker) and Snatch (bookies) come to mind immediately - British films have a simple premise: intense fun, gritty and witty scripts.

If you like Clive Owen, there's an indie noir-like film called Croupier that made him really famous... you know the Dick Tracy style monologue. It's my kind of slow burn, and is all about the casino lifestyle. Very realistic, fantastic.

You are the first one who wrote about 'Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels' in this thread! That's what I wanted to write about as well. I was surprised nobody mentioned it before. This film is particularly good, because it shows that even a really good player may end up losing everything. At that time is was all about gangsters who deceived him but the same holds for our times in a modified version. From time to time we see the news about different scams and sometimes it is the fact that the website actually know what cards you got and thus doesn't allow you to win.

I guess non-Hollywood movies simply get overlooked because of the way success or popularity is measured (box office returns, usually). Of course that itself is a criticism of movies like Lock and Snatch - they cannot appeal to a lot of people. As much as I like them, even I have to make an effort to decipher their accents, esp with the "gangster" lingo!

I also have watch Casino Royale but could not understand the gambling part of that movie. In my list I always love Oscen's eleven as a best gambling based movie. It is a movie about robbing out a casino. A team works in smart way to achieve that robbery successfully. A really nice move to entertain ourselves.

My best gambling movie is jannat  from bollywood . It was one of my best movies i ever watched . A story of a guy arjun leads to become a billionaire through cricket match betting.

I really like the James Bond movie though, I think they should have given awards for opening the gambling world to the gambling. LOL. As I see it, they are really a big influence specially the casino's which boom around 60's-70's up to today. So the James Bond movie had really a big impact like poker roulette and baccarat. I will also find non-Hollywood movie and see what I can find out.

There is a movie I've watched named "The Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief". There is a part in the movie that they've been to a casino and stayed there for days. It is one of the best explanation or describing gambling but as for the movie there is somewhat supernatural thought there. But if you look and analyze it more clearly that's how casino is. You have been lured and it is really hard for you to get away from gambling because of entertainment it gives you for fun.

If you're a poker player then watch rounders but if you're a blackjack player watch 21. Both are really good movies.

Good movies, I like Casino Royal and 21,King of Gamblers. There is couple movies on this list that I didn't watch, tonight I will watch Runner Runner, I heard about it long time ago and now again.
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas is not gambling movie, its everything else except gambling. I don't have nothing against it, good movie if you like drugs, music, and Jonny Dep.

King of Gamblers ? I am yet to check it. 
I loved Casino Royale but I have not considered it a gambling movie. It was more of an action movie rather it was an gambling based movie. There are few scenes that have been taken in casino but nothing related to gambling. The only thing that I learn was having confidence and trying to read others mind.

Will check this out. I just watched ocean's eleven., a star studded production yet still have some learnings on this movie. We can see the effects of gamnling in one's life, in his personality, family and friends. Being too greedy and aiming to have everything in illegal ways will never lead to a bright future. It's worth watching.

A great movie indeed. It was not exactly a gambling movie but an action movie. An agent cannot be a gambler for all time definitely but he must be a good gambler in all things.

This poll is very refreshing. There is a few movies that i have watched and there were plenty that i have not watched or even heard of. Now this make me want to rewatch some of them and at the same time, chose new movie to watch. I quite like casino movie.

And I'm not into movies but after reading that it's about Steve McQueen it gave me an interest, thanks for this. I had watched the spoiler and it's giving me a thrill to watch it more. I'll put this on my bucket list when I had enough time.

For me it would always be 21. The story about a grooup of teenage kids beating the system and just using their intelligience and them dressing up really fuelled the imagination for beating the system. Kevin Spacey's perfocrmance also stood out.

I know Ocean's Eleven is a very nice gambling movie but what I want to ask is there really King of Gamblers movie? I just want to know but what I seen gambling movie is a Chinese and it's title is The God of Gamblers and it is really a cool, nice and funny movie indeed and I love to watch ot over and over again. I love also the new movie of Will Smith entitled "Focus" and I love to watch it too it is really a tricky movie and I love how they analyze the game and also their opponents to win in the process even if it's nees to risk their lives.

im curious about that movie of will smith i haven't watch it yet but the god of gamblers i use to watch that because of the good actor chow yun fat its
comedy and relaxing one where you can learn some tricks but its really impossible to be done in real world.

Yeah  i really love that actor he used to have such nice movies and everyone of them that like the most of his movies are Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle and many more but what I love in gambling movie he had done is the God of Gamblers. I will really recommend to watch the new movie of Will Smith it is really a fascinating movie it will give you really thrills and make you wondered how it is done. And when the movie ends you will really say "At all times that I do I need to be focus "  it will really blown your mind.

Will smith is indeed a god actor, unfortunately haven't watch yet his movie regarding gambling. The only movie about gambling I remembered I waa able to finish is the Ocean's eleven,a must watch movie too, tackling life of friendships and relationships that engaging in gambling and robbery.

The best gambling movie that i've ever seen is the God of gamblers.it is the chinese movie that an actor have a telekinetic power who can read the mind of his enemy in gambling,it is a poker games of cards that his mind power  can exchange or can read the cards of his rival.

That movie is real funny though. And what if you have that kind of super powers to change the cards, you should be rich by now. However, that movie ain't close to reality though.  As for the movie, Two for the Money, yeah I already saw that film, another Al Pacino classic, although the movie didn't do good in the market. Also recommend this for other gamblers as well but you may be lost in subplot of the movie.

these movies has been suceesfully and bringing the actors with being more famous to outside Hongkong and indeed he has called God of gamblers because he never lost and always win but very unfortunate that there is no such thing in the real life even the players more likely will suffers losses everytime they gamble in the real life

I Didn't know there's a movie of gambling, well will try to watched those movies listed in the poll. I just know some short stories about gambling and I watched it long time ago, but yeah its pretty interesting to watch this kind of movies. will look for it right now.

There are gambling movies that are existing one of the best that I've watched is King of Gamblers. Too many producers are targeting gambling places and starting out their movies base on different stories mostly in Macau and Vegas.

Oceans Eleven have lots of learning too, that's my favorite in the list, though there are many local movies abount gambling in our country too, the recent one is a about the luck at first sight, wherein they defend their relationship too much in casino, it's the modern one that I remembered.

I like Casino Royal it is best movie for casino playing games. Also i like this hero, he is very suitable in his character. Well, i have no another favorite movie, but i have seen some other movies in your list, but in this time i forget some scenes of movies, but i know these are also base on gambling. 

I would always choose the movie 21 just because of how fun and how it is based on a true story. Also I love blackjack and its a plus that the movie revolves around it. There is also a great feel on how they try to beat the house and its always nice to see a great plot twist in the end that gets you smiling after the movie credits come rolling in and the thought of maybe I can pull it of too lingers

I don't have a favorite but i have enjoyed a couple of them and any could qualify as my favorite, Casino Royal, the Rounders of the 1998 fame, the Cincinnati kid among others because they make me want to gamble each time i watch such genre.

That's the only movie that comes to mind when i hear gambling movies but the recent comedy movie starring Will Ferrel is a great example of gambling movies. It is titled "The House".

I can not determine which movie will be one of the best.
but for the poker player, Casino Royal it seems likely to be an option the best

I have only watched one gambling movie and that is God of Gamblers featuring Andy Lau. Although it wasn't realistic coz they are using some magic or something I enjoyed watching it and dreaming of I had the same skills like them in the movie.

Last week it happened to watch the movie hangover (part-1). In near climax, that comedian is trying to play blackjack for earning $80k and surprisingly I was successful with his attempts as he was studying some books for tips and tricks for blackjack games. I am not an expert with any of card games but I believe there could be lots of possibilities to make good results with such kind of games. Here, I wish to share if we choose right games and right approaches then we can easily win.
