Daimler May Use Bitcoin to Finance Africa’s Transport Demands
After buying up digital currency transfer company PayCash, Daimler has signaled it may use digital currency to build up its presence in Africa.
The continent is providing huge demand for transport networks, yet businesses are continually faced with financing problems, the vehicle giant told industry magazine Autconomy this week.
“We are already present in over 30 marketplaces in Africa and are still expanding both our product range and our service operations network,” said a spokesperson. “This is a clear signal that we expect further growth in Africa.”

It is interesting to see an auto company buying a currency transfer company (Paycash) and making it part of its strategy to grow. Companies no longer seem to be focusing on their core business. But if it leads to greater bitcoin adoption, I am not complaining.

Very good news, I live in africa and I can say that the lack of public transport is increasing, many people die every day because the buses are overcrowded and they travel with a lot of speed to carry the largest number of passengers. A very serious situation.

I hope they can help Africa.

What lack of public transport? I go to African countries very often and I see Taxi services with mini-busses everywhere. You also have people

offering their personal cars for these taxi services, not like the regulated taxi services in New York or even Uber. Daimler are grabbing at straws

here, and are just looking to expand to new markets to sell their expensive cars, because Europe and America are already saturated.  ::)

In my country only the rich get into the taxi, the poor go public transportation

Maybe you were in a country of white africa like egypt or tunisia.
