Title: Which wallets are affected by incorrect derivation of BIP39 keys?
Post by: RocketSingh on February 23, 2017, 12:04:40 PM
Issue: https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39/issues/58#issuecomment-281897788

Copay, Bitpay & Electrum seems to be affected. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm interested about the status of bitaddress.org, coinb.in & blockchain.info.

Electrum is currently not affected by this bug since they don't use bitcore-lib.

Bitaddress.org doesn't use BIP39 so it isn't affected either.

ecdsa has already responded to this:

Also
Electrum is not affected by that, it's a bug in the bitcore library used by Copay.

Even if you can use BIP39 seeds in Electrum, we do not recommend to do so.
It is safer to create an Electrum seed. For explanation see http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/seedphrase.html
