Bitcoin has a Market Cap of 19 billion so that means all bitcoin in circulation at that moment are worth 19 billion??

Bill Gates has a fortune of what 60 billion and zuckerberg approximatly 40 billion, i know they dont just have that mney laying around but assume zuckerberg would sell of all of his facebook shares and buys off as many bitcoins as he can for his money (40 billion) could he just buy all of them.

of course he wouldnt just buy them all at once and he for sure wouldnt sell all his facebook shares all at once but we assume he switches his facebook shares over a period of a few years all in crypto

Well he can only buy my stash of coins if I decide to sell them to him.  Same for any of us here.  If a guy like that decided to do what you suggested the price of coins would be millions each by the time the last 20% of the blockchain became his.  For me personally, such a "dream" would make me an instant multi multi millionare.  If only he would go for it, but he won't!  The other reality is that a move like that would probably crash the entire scheme.

But on the other hand Bill Gates also can only buy if we all want to sell.
And I think at the moment this is not the case. So, he would have to exaggerate the course in a short time and still gets not all...

My theory is Zuckerberg has been secretly selling Facebook stock to fuel his Bitcoin addiction. I think he has been acquiring Bitcoins since the Winklevoss twin's have been getting so much publicity. When news breaks that Zuckerberg has 1 million BTC, the price will skyrocket!

Anyone can buy as many bitcoins as they like but i know some people that just would not sell all there coins no matter what the price was.
If anyone was trying to do this quickly then things would get very expensive very quick for them.

I think they do hold some bitcoins with them but I don't think they are aiming for profit via trading because they are already rich enough  :D

They would not totally invest all of it in bitcoins .they would go for more and more profitable business investing , and investing all in bitcoins would be foolishness.

If they want they can buy all the Bitcoins they want. Their capital allows them to do this thing. Bill Gates is an old man now so I am excluding it from the interest in Bitcoin while Mark Zuckenberg is relatively young and he may have future interest in bitcoin.

Think about what would happen if Gates offered half his fortune to the devs, to entirely leave Bitcoin, and let him take the reigns of development. Gates and his crew can easily program Bitcoin a different way. And if they leave it open source, and people find out that the core programming has been turned against them, what will happen to the price of Bitcoin then?

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Gates hadn't already built a core to his own specs, and was simply waiting for the opportunity to use it. Maybe he has found a path into the blockchain already, and is corrupting it in tiny ways.

No, any major sale of facebook shares will lower the price of the shares and with it its fortune, any attempt to buy many bitcoin will push the price up, they will be able to buy many coins if that is what they want but they will not be able to buy them all, besides why they will want to own all the bitcoins since at that point bitcoin will be useless because no one will be able to make transactions or to trade with bitcoin.

They are wealthy people and can afford to buy everything except immortality. Bitcoin can only take for the sake of entertainment.

If they wanted to they could buy lots of bitcoin, as someone else pointed out though this would increase the demand the more they bought, also increasing the price to such a point were bitcoins would be so expensive that there would be no point for them to buy any more and would mostly likely just cashout.

Any acquisition must make sense. Why do they need bitcoin? It is not their issue. Though of course if Microsoft sold the software only for bitcoins it could give a large increase in the prevalence of bitcoin.

They are two of the people who are the richest people in the world, especially Bill Gates. Though these two, Mark Zuckerburg and Bill Gates will never be buying bitcoin unless they want to or they piqued their interest in this digital currency. They are billionaires and dont need to be affiliated with other currencies online.

If Bill Gates and Zuckerberg buy bitcoin for sure the bitcoin price will pump very high because this two people are billionaire like Bill Gates the #1 richest in the world if decide to invest bitcoin I think millions of dollars so the price increase. But I don't think this people are spent time with this kind of online business because they have their own business in online.

He can only buy coins from people willing to sell them (he's not getting mine). Besides, once somebody tries to do this the market would either crash or skyrocket. Last, I'm not sure exactly what somebody would gain by owning all Bitcoins.

They cannot because if they try buying large amounts at the current price, they will end up increasing the price, thus the marketcap making it impossible for them to buy all the coins.

Theoretically possible but everyone would know about it. Their wealth is held in MicroSoft and FaceBook shares once they sell it will send red flags in the tech world.

Why would they do that? Do they have enough money to buy up all bitcoins to be sold on the market, but it will lead to the fact that their real money will become virtual. I think it's stupid. Much more profitable to invest in production that will make money in the long run. For example, the development of alternative energy.

Well, the Twinkelvoss twins are some of the most wealthy Bitcoin owners, who believed in this technology many years ago. Thus, I think Zuck won't buy Bitcoin... (just joking because of the Facebook's early years lawsuit  ;D)

Technically they can, though i don't think these rich people would bother doing that. They're already filthy rich and i don't think it's logical to sell all your shares and invest solely on bitcoin. They've come to that point in their lives because they're good at making decisions with their money so i don't think they'd risk their current statuses for this

Elon musk puts his money in new technologies. Why do you think that bill gates or mark Zuckerberg is stupid. They have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their days. Perhaps it would be preferable to also leave their mark in the history of environmental energy to earn additional millions in currency speculation.

Not everything, but yes they do hold bitcoins and may never reveal them to others. If they disclose that then there will be a huge pump in the market.

Bill Gates has already spoken great things about bitcoin in the past and as a technology enthusiast i am sure he might have invested in it at least to test how things work and only he could testify how much coin he has purchased and that will be the case with Zuckerberg.

I agree if there was agresive buying by just 40 billion the price would skyrocket. So there is no way!

in a fact, both of them not rich than king salman. if bitcoin on sell, for king salman prize like that not really expensive.

He can invest in other things, he has already life solved. So there's no a strong reason to buy them all.

Of course, we know for sure Bill Gates & Mark Zuckerberg have both invested in Bitcoins but there's no way that this guys will sell-up their shares of their own companies for Bitcoin because if they do so they may loose control of their companies (board of executives) which they may probably avoid doing so. They may be invested very heavily on Bitcoin but they'll never sell-up their shares for Bitcoin for sure.

all that bitcoin isn't availalbe for them to buy. The one's on exchanges are only the Bitcoins people are willing to sell, most people don't even want to sell.. that would drive down prices and everyone would lose

Ofcourse they buy bitcoins too. Bill Gates was once interviewed regarding Bitcoin. He said.. No one could stop Bitcoin. Infact Microsoft has partnered with Stratis and Sys. Meaning microsoft believes in the crypto currency technology. Regarding FB owner, I'm sure he has Bitcoins too, but I dont have proofs.

Anyone can buy bitcoins as long as they have the wallet to store the coins :D and im pretty ssure bill gates didnt buy any bitcoin but he mine :D thats why he is supporting the power of bitcoin and he knows the effect of this in his business .. i think berg and gates have bitcoins and not just that its a huge amount .. i do believe !! because they do believe in bitcoin!!

Of course, they could. They have a lot of money to buy for it. And because it's an investment, I honestly bet they would.

Even with their fortunes they could not buy all the bitcoin...mathematically it would be very difficult and economically it would not make sense...in turn it would probably lead to financial ruin.

When these guy buy stocks (like Buffett, etc) they buy it slowly, quietly, over time; so the price doesn't shoot up.

I think both of them can buy bitcoin. In their current status as billionaire they can buy a bunch of bitcoins if they want to , but on the other hand maybe they holding some of bitcoins and investing them in a bitcoin company. Or they just selling it to profit more millions of dollars. But they can't buy all of the bitcoins alone. If both of the share equally to buy all the bitcoins they sure will.

Bill Gate would not bother himself in bitcoins because he already have all the money that he wants. Bill Gates is philanthropist and he always find some way to spend his money to help other people. Gates started a campaign that encourages the wealthiest people in the world to give at least half of their wealth to philanthropic causes.

I dont think they would be interested but they both are very very rich , Yes either one of them could own the title for bitcoin but if they were to get their hands on it then that would change everything for bitcoin

I hope Bill Gates would consider buying Bitcoins as a whole because of all people techy enough to propagate bitcoins, it would definitely be him. He could invest and make bitcoins profitable for everyone.
