Title: 1 Bitcoin (2000-3000$) Worths 1 Carat Diamond - Don't Sell Your Bitcoins

I created this thread to ask why it's better to not sell your Bitcoins?

Maybe the coins will get a high price because the people can't transfer via blockchain.

I'm a bit confused as to what your first sentence has to do with the second one...

1 Bitcoin worth is 2000-3000$ like 1 carat diamond.
at the moment, 1 BTC = $1206, i don't know the diamond prices tough, but a bitcoin is certainly not worth $2k-$3k at the time of writing.

I created this thread to ask why it's better to not sell your Bitcoins?
personally, i hold my coins in the hope the price will rise in the future.

Most of us does really hold off to our bitcoin and would not tend to sell off and we would wait for the highest price that could possibly bitcoin would reached but there are really people will surely secure their profits specially to those traders who do like to see profits on shorter times.

Today, bitcoin is trading at $1200 and I expect the price to get to 2000 dollar if the ETF get approved by security and exchange commission. Op thank you for open this treat as we would be following it to see what became bitcoin in nearby future. The best advice to give investors now is buy and hold bitcoin.

1 Bitcoin worth is 2000-3000$ like 1 carat diamond.

1 bitcoin worth IS about $1200. if it were higher, it could have been worth $2000-$3000 like 1 carat (?) diamond.

I created this thread to ask why it's better to not sell your Bitcoins?

because you should start thinking about bitcoin more as a currency, and start seeing it as a peer to peer decentralized cash that nobody can restrict.

then about selling, I have to say, it is because bitcoin has lots of potential to go up in price. and what you can see today as $1200 will be way too cheap in a couple of years, just the same way $450 last year and $220 the year before than and $0.1 at the beginning was way too cheap.

you're right, most people are waiting and wants something better. That is the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase. And I am concerned, if Bitcoin rise to too high, people will be rushing to sell. This will greatly affect its value, even market crisis. when everyone sells Bitcoin, its value will disappear. Input output and stability which is a condition for development Bitcoin

It can go higher but I doubt if it will get to $3,000 any time soon as that'll require a massive pump and Bitcoin is already going through some tough times with confirmation times and transaction fees. If these drawbacks can be resolved soonest then I have no doubt it can get to the price of diamond.

Anybody is free to do what he thinks is best for him,I don't think there is a universal approach to this situation-maybe someone needs cash and for him it is neccessary to sell his BTC,but overall I think it is a good idea that if you can afford it,it is better to hold for now and don't sell any BTC because who knows what might happen in the next weeks,Btc has big potential but whether it will live up to it-we shall see

well, the price now is $1160 and it is still a long way for bitcoin to reach $2000. We all know that Bitcoin is good, but I doubt that It can reach that price in this year. There are still many things against Bitcoin and the possibility of banning Bitcoin in china is very high. If the Chinese government decide to being strict to Bitcoin and other cryptos, it can be the end of Bitcoin since most of Bitcoin and mining farms are located in this country.

Yeah what people don't seem to realise is that for Bitcoin's value to go up there needs to be more demand for them and less people willing to sell.  If there's more demand then there will most likely be more transactions - with the current problems with block size etc it's pretty unlikely this will do much good.  If anything it's just going to get harder to transact which will make Bitcoin less accessible to ordinary people, which is terrible for Bitcoin.

If you compare diamonds and bitcoin that means you see it (bitcoin) as commodity. I have a different view because I see it mainly as currency and after that as commodity. Currently, there are some hassles use it payment medium instead of fiat like as a limited number of bitcoin friendly stores, network confirmation time and people awareness about cryptos in general but I am confident in the future more and more people use it to buy/sell things and services.

I think the main reason why not to sell bitcoin is the potential it has.
How many people might be using btc at the moment? Maybe a little bit over 5 millions?
And the price has developed from nearly nothing to over 1000 dollar within not even 10 years.
When you think of a world population of 7.5 billions, the only word that comes in my mind is 'potential'.

It's better to sell at some times but not all the time for sure. It's always good to trade margins and spot opportunities and exploit them as and when you can because that's the only way you can determine if you are making profits or not. If you keep holding your bitcoins with the hope of making profits in the long run you might have the need ( in times of emergency) to sell at a time the prices wouldn't be doing so well on the market and you'll lose.

1 bitcoin is currently trading at $1200+ dollars right now and is far off from $2000-$3000 as to what your initial sentence is. You're right, holding on to bitcoin right now is really the best thing to do since most of us bought in @ $400-$500 hoping that these prices would soon go up (which really happened after a few couple of months.)

I think the 1st step is to wait for the ETF , and this will be a moment where price will go great higher , or a little lower , but certainly under 1000$.
Then , the numerous projects getting in are helping bitcoin to increase little by little , and also businesses that tend to accept bitcoin as a payment.

Because today, one year later, it's more than 20 grams of gold. Maybe that's why.

Just saying, Diamonds are completely worthless except for industrial uses and the only reason prices are high are cause of the jackasses at DeBeers. So invalid comparison, atleast Bitcoin aren't price controlled

Price of bitcoin is always a hot topic here. But many user here is just asking so that they will have a conpany for holding. Hahaha

This is very optimistic prediction. I'm not saying 200$ or 3000$ are not possible but not this year. The price is in the pump mode at the moment but still it takes time to reach that high. And don't forget some possible dumps, they are inevitable too.

Holding a fraction doesn't gonna get a bigger profit. A single coin gives a profit that makes a difference of around $200 within a short time. A fraction of it gives a mere profit of $50. Holding is good if you try making small profit even with the fraction.

Bitcoin price has not yet reached to 2k or 3k level yet. We are just heading towards 1200 USD and probably it will further move up to 1400 USD. However, I also believe in storing bitcoin for long term because bitcoin is one such investment which can give much higher return than any other conventional investment.

I had accumulated a major portion of my bitcoin when it was at 450 USD and you can easily understand that how much profit I have already made just by storing my bitcoin. That is the power of bitcoin. That's why it is recommended to hold your bitcoin for a longer period of time. For quick profits, you can always try trading.

This price range is very impossible to reach for this year because i think that if the price reaches at least 1,500$ it will result for a huge dump because the bag holders will unload their bags and sell their coins for a high price and it can cause a panic selling scenario which will be the factor of a huge dump and that is why 2000-3000$ is a impossible target as of now.

Actually if the things continue to go well as we see since december, the price of bitcoin could reach the $3000 mark this year. A thing to consider, past performances are not predictive of future performances. We can scan the waves of graphic analysis or the crystal ball, the result will be the same.If all traders are looking at the same crystal ball, we can even say that
I could not imagine that the price can be touch in $3000 value this year in own speculation its impossible to happen since bitcoin has only slow movement of the price increase unlike in 2013 that has large spike due to many users and holders of bitcoin we can not manipulate fast the movement of the price if  someone are planning to buy large amount of bitcoin it can affect a lot in the bitcoin price.
For now we are seeing the price is high and increasing nearly $1200 it doesn't mean that the price will touch in $2k or $3k value. possible $1400 that i think possible price..

Honestly I am very depressed with this price hike and every time I get notification about another price up,I get more upset.Know why ?Because I never cared to hold my btc and keep spending or converting them to fiat every time I get some.I am not a big exchange owner or a miner who has an uninterrupted income of bitcoin.
I have learnt that for a small time btc earner like me,holding is the best option.

I don't really see how 1 Bitcoin is worth 2-3k? Right now it is only worth about 1.2k, not even that much. If it did reach about 3k, that would be great because 1 carat of diamond costs around that price for the lower quality. The price of 1 carat can go all the way up to about 30k for the best quality. So it would definitely not be the right choice to sell your Bitcoin. Bitcoin is doing extremely well this year and it will most likely continue its great streak throughout the year. If you sell now, you could lose out on a lot of profit.

Exactly. Bitcoin should be worth a lot more than what it is right now, and I’d say it needs at least 5 more years for it to mature and scale, to reach higher price levels.

If it remains with its limited supply of 21 million coins in existence, then it would increase in value over the years as each halving event comes up to decrease the block reward. In addition to that, if Bitcoin finally gets to scale (either by increasing block size or approval of SegWit or even Bitcoin Unlimited) it would attract even more people into it, making its value rise even more.

Only time will tell what will happen with Bitcoin's future. In the meantime, you should always protect your investment, not leaving all your eggs in one basket (investing only in Bitcoin). Spread your investment into different assets and you'll be fine. Just my opinion.  ;D

Usually I used to convert my bitcoins to fiat currency but now started to hold the currency because i realised that bitcoin price can go further high. But again nobody knows what will be its price tomorrow because its price is highly volatile. But  I dont think it will reach 3000 dollars very soon. If any government puts a ban , thats it. Its price will crash. So I wont hold my bitcoins for a long period. So when I feel It reached its saturation point I will sell it.

That will be nice if the price will go up to that price. But i dont really think that will happen soon. J dont see any significant sign that the price will to that amount. Maybe 1-3 years i think theres a possibility that could happen. But bitcoin is volatile. I believe that price is achievable. But it takes time to achieve that price. It takes a lot of courage at patience if you want to achieve that.

I really like to see that the price will reach that price. But seems very impossible to reach or achieve that price. Anyone can have their own predictions. But only time will tell.

...

I just read an interesting article on diamonds in The Economist, the financial magazine form the UK.

It seems that a number of analysts are BEARISH on diamonds, both in price as well as the business itself.  There is a huge diamond in northern Canada (very remote) that is just cranking up production, it will be one of the very largest in the world.  Russia already produces more diamonds than traditional leader South Africa.

And synthetic diamonds each year get a little cheaper and little higher quality.

I agree: stick with Bitcoin.  If you like valuable hard assets, go with gold instead.

If you really wanted to make some good profit you can very well follow the market and its development regarding the approval of ETF and once it is approved we would see a new level in the price of bitcoin. I am not sure that any government will put a ban in the growth of bitcoin and if so i am not sure how it will impact the price of the coin.

Now $1280 ! Bitcoin should go up because of the rules of supply and demand and bitcoin does not have a cap at 21 million  like a poster above says.A cap is something artificially put there.Bitcoin can not mathematically go more in number than 21 million and that is why the price is going up now more people fighting to get the limited coins drives the price higher and that is also why the price will rise if one of the 3 ETF are approved. The ETF s have to buy 200 million dollars in coins if they are approved and the reason coins are going higher now is because the rumore that the ETF at least one will be approved..This is much different from the us govt that can print paper when ever it wants and the Us dollar really has no value it is just the strong govt structure that lends a value to their paper.

The best strategy for now, Is to save our bitcoin, I don't say save the 100% of our profit, but a part of them. Now, The price is around 1250-1280$, It's such a great amount, so, I think the price will increase more soon. Really, It's time to save and do not sell our bitcoin, because bitcoin is more precious than anything else in financial market.

I don't like to advise in such matter since basically it's trading , in the long run bitcoin should worth way more in theory
but even if the price is 10K$ some people will keep saying don't sell it will be 20K soon , and so on  :)

The only rule you should follow is to sell at a higher price than the one you paid.
In my opinion BTC could be at 10k$ each once it has a bigger user base, a lot of people in developing countries use BTC already as their main currency but everyone's price is based in speculation, including mine.

1 Bitcoin worth is 2000-3000$ like 1 carat diamond.

I created this thread to ask why it's better to not sell your Bitcoins?

Because its price will still go up until it reach its peak, but no one knows how much could it goes up, on what's price would bitcoin stop and will fall down again until its reach its price to the lowest. My friends said to me that the next price of bitcoin would be $1500, and I am waiting for it, that is why I am holding my bitcoin until now, I have just converted some of it, for me to have an allowance for a week.

According to those bitcoin users which are early adopters, they are saying that bitcoins price is like a pyramid, it would keep on going up, and when it did reach its peak, it would continuously fall down like the way its price went up.

Well it's just spikes and troughs, since the last movement is a spike by the Indians buying in we should be expecting a drop soon due to whatever especially with the prices remaining above $1200. Or it will slowly rise to $1500 or whatever, but that's all speculation

speculations might sounds good but truly movements unpredictable eventhough bitcoins is at the peak but theirs a big chances that this current price will rise for more since bitcoins price still kicking up but i'm afraid of the price drop since ETF issue, fuds and speculation is now scattering on all over the bitcoins furom and communities but anyways let see what will happen to it in future since we surely can see some historic news.

at the moment, 1 BTC = $1206, i don't know the diamond prices tough, but a bitcoin is certainly not worth $2k-$3k at the time of writing.

For the last 2-3 months we saw the potential of bitcoin rising in price, I think would be wise to save your bitcoin for 2-3 years. Threads about 2020 bitcoin evolution and other threads like this one keeping us on theory that bitcoin dont have any boards on price, sure it's hard to keep your bitcoins save and do not exchange, but we should think about the real price for the digital currency, which has too much of impact and pressure to level up in price

If you wait all the time there will never be a good time to sell the bitcoins. Bitcoins will always tend to rise and fall randomly .keep a target that will be achievable and you dont have to wait too much for the bitcoins to rise too much and dreaming about becoming rich.

Seems a good speculation for me even though he did not mention any reason why Bitcoin can attain those price.    I have read that the advantage of ETH toward Bitcoin is nullified since there is a news about an incoming smart contracts to Bitcoin.  Aside from that  Japan is very active on Bitcoin support since they just announced that Bitcoin is accepted as mode of payment and large number of their merchants are accepting Bitcoin now.

I created this thread to ask why it's better to not sell your Bitcoins?

It is always better to not sell Bitcoins if we can afford it.  Since we all know Bitcoin have deflationary features that make it rarer.  Market is still young and once the issue with Bitcoin is solved we can see an exponential growth on price appreciation due to rarity and adoptions of people.

There can always be a time to sell bitcoin, when u have made a good profit in any form of its transactions. Just the news of Japan adoption has raised the value in almost $200 which I am sure had overcome the $1150 threshold for the year. We now have a new threshold price to overcome, $1300. Active trade/transaction in the more 260k stores in the Japan should raise the price by $50-100 in coming weeks if there is no other news.

The price fluctuates with ups and downs, so it's good to fix a target to be reached and sell your bitcoins. The reason is that here you cannot get support from users around, because if they suggest you to hold and by that time if price drops it makes you feel bad.

It is just a speculation that the price may rise that high, but it is up to you if you want to trade or hold on your bitcoin. Though it is true that you will feel bad if the price fell down but the opposite can be true as well.

Japan making bitcoin legal in their also help jump  the price as you mentioned. We are barely in the $1200 price range. Once we touch that price, I personally think that indeed Japan new's is making the price of bitcoin rises. But $2000-$3000 is still far, will take a couple of weeks or even months to achieved that. I'm just hoping that the trend will continue to move upwards so that holding to our precious bitcoin will be worth 1 carat of diamond in the future.

Long-term investment actually a good choice, my friend. If we now hold or not sell bitcoin until a few years and the price reached $ 2,000 it would be very profitable. It would be better if it did buy and hold + buy again, surely you would have bitcoin very much in the future. Not always with large quantities, with some bitcoin it's been good. But it is requires patience because it would require a long time, and it is worth a try.

Just hold and see where the price of bitcoin will take us. If it reaches the $2000-3000 majority of members here will profit big. For those who have sold earlier, you can still get bitcoin now and will still make you a profit if the OP is correct in his speculation. The news that Japan bring is positive towards bitcoin achieving a good price before 2017 ends.

What makes you so sure the acceptance of Bitcoin in Japan had any influence on the price?
I doubt this had much to do with that. It's more likely that the fear of a fork has settled and people started to buy back into Bitcoin. Furthermore the big gains of shitcoins seems to be over and people slowly start to shift some of their profits into BTC.

It will not become a prediction in the future, For surely the massive adoption from the japan, and another scalability problem of bitcoin gets resolved in the future. It will give a lot of impact for the price of bitcoin. But $2000 is a huge decimal for the bitcoin at the end of this year and it's not reasonable.

It may hit $5000 quicker than you know. Chart analyst anticipated a steep increase in valuation toward the end of the year for bitcoin.

I dont get the terminology you are using.
Pump up bitcoin to 3000 USD in this year?
Will all due respect to your sir, but that phrase is just a complete bullshit.
Bitcoin cannot be pumped if we want to remain on that price level, pump/dump is about different cryptocurrencies (altcoins) which are new, and they can be pumped- because the price remains low, so a whale may buy a big part of the volume.
How would you like to pump bitcoin, do you even imagine the amount of money needed for that purpose?
Current 24h volume of bitcoin is about 289,531,000$, and this is only the total amount ( in USD ) of buy/sell orders in 24h, you cannot really pump bitcoin, but you can dump it- if you are an early adopter with massive quantity of bitcoins.

It will depend how the block size problem is resolved and if it is.  The issue is still there and we have to tackle it somehow before Bitcoin becomes too slow to be used for small everyday transactions.
I believe it's possible to reach $5000, especially that Bitcoin reaches a new ATH point every 1 or 2 years, but it will take time. Don't expect it to be this or next year. We'll need a full adoption for that to happen and for full adoption we'll need the fees to stop going up and the transaction times to start going down.
