Title: All of my S9's stopped hashing overnight at same time! Please take a look!
Post by: wmabern on February 24, 2017, 12:03:31 PM
Just woke up to find all S9's with zero hash. Tried rebooting, reset router and a few other things. I've got them unplugged now and have to go to work. :(

Can anyone here decipher the kernel log and try to tell me what's going on? Thank you very much!

There hasn't been any flashing involved. They all four just stopped connecting to my pool at the same time in the middle of the night.

turn off, power on 1 card at a time, adding one card after each boot. Should be fine after.

or reflash ( same version or newer ) + reset , and restart never disconnecting.

we've seen this from time to time.

Turns out it was most likely a switch went dead. However, I could not reset any of the 4 S9's that went dead (at the same time early this morning) with the original switch.

I swapped it our for a new Netgear switch I had just gotten. Still, none of the miners were hashing but I was able to reset them all to default and then reconfigure for my pool. All are running well 3 hours later.

First time I have had a switch just die like that if indeed it was the switch.

It could also have been a weird combination of things. As I was asleep when they all went dead, I know it was nothing I had done by playing with my newly flashed dd-wrt NetGear Nighthawk router. The router was installed a few days ago, so that would not be the culprit.

Anyway, all is working now. But lost all my static IP addresses. Now I will have to power down each miner individually to figure out what IP belongs to which machine. :(

My boss let me come home at noon and spend an hour or so getting them back up and running. :)

Thanks for the replies! :)
