Title: Enclosed Case for 4 (maybe 5??) 7950 GPU
Post by: chill24 on April 19, 2013, 03:51:26 PM
Brand new to this and I really like how helpful and comprehensive this forum is. I'm not new to building PC's and with this I'm looking to set something up and see where it goes. I'm not expecting a whole lot, but I like the idea. I'm concentrating on Ltc also.

So I've got a Asrock 970 extreme 4 with a cheap cpu and 2 7950's on the way. I'd like to fit 4, or even 5 on this board eventually. I'll be running win7 64. (Although, if Im out of licenses with that, I may use vista 64.... Anyone had any trouble with vista?)

I know open case is the way to go, but I want to find a huge case, cheap, the more plain the better, that will fit everything. I know it will require some modification. The Thor V2 looks big enough and its the cheapest out of cases that size but its still more than I want to pay. Really, its too nice. I may be able to get an old dell poweredge soon and either use that, or gut it and use the case. But I think that's gonna be a pain...

The point of this is if I can get it in a case, I can leave it in a temp controlled environment where I won't have to pay for power.

A guy here did something similar, but the case he used (XClio Windtunnel)  is over 160$ at new egg, more than the thor.

Any ideas and am I on the right track?
