Title: Bitcoin - Price History Analysis (excel?)/ Trends and Regression/Correlation
Post by: statdude on April 19, 2013, 04:33:59 PM
Anyone have any excels, sources, or other methods for analyzing bitcoin price history they can share? For potential trends?

I've seen people with tables of price histories but not sure how they got them.

Most people seem to use Bitcoincharts.com

Historic Trade Data

Trade data is available as CSV, delayed by approx. 15 minutes. It will return the 2000 most recent trades.

http://api.bitcoincharts.com/v1/trades.csv?symbol=SYMBOL[&end=UNIXTIME]

returns CSV:

unixtime,price,amount
You can use the end parameter to specify an earlier unix timestamp in order to retrieve older data.

Examples

Latest mtgoxUSD trades:
http://api.bitcoincharts.com/v1/trades.csv?symbol=mtgoxUSD

so you can download it as a CSV to open in Excel.

I've just build a site that shows current prices plus trading history for 1 day, 7 days, 30 days and 6 months. Not sure if I can post my own URLs here so PM me as don't want to come across as a spammer.

Would there be any way to source, say, mean daily trade values since the inception of Bitcoin in a format that you could easily paste into Excel?
