What do we think about this lads? Are we going to the moon? I'm stoked. I don't really get why the price keeps rising, but i don't mind. It doesn't look like a spike like the previous ATH, its way more stable.
Are we finally getting more mainstream?

It is very promising for bitcoin and all the ones who believed in it so far.
Just very disappointing for the ones who don't have any to one's name.  ::)

Well, it hasn't spiked exponentially like the last time BTC was at these levels so it is on much more solid support this time it seems..
A spike from here may be yet to come, who knows.. It would have to go silly high for me to sell..

We had an all time high across all exchanges in the world (except OkCoin) the other day. It's great to confirm that the uptrend is as strong as ever.

But not only this, it is also very pleasing to see china not leading the market anymore. Now they are stuck with the 8888 ATH and with a lower price because of their own stupidity.

What i like more on this ATH is that price is increasing slowly, not like the other times. And now price is near the gold onze, bitcoin will have more exposure on newspapers if it goes above gold.

I don't think it gets much published through news portals. Till date it haven't gained popularity through advertising and other methods of promoting similar to PayPal, Western Union or other such service providers. It grows in its path even if cross and go beyond gold.

I am more or less just okay with it since the current all time high is not that much higher than the one we had a few days ago.

I add more value to maintaining the $1200 mark, but at this point it's probably too much to ask for as building support and confidence takes time.

I still haven't cashed out a single Satoshi as I don't want to see my coin stash lowers in quantity. Hodling is the only thing I am doing. Not even trading.

The problem is that a lot hinges on the Bitcoin ETF getting approved / rejected.
If the ETF does get rejected and we manage to sustain these levels, then I would be really happy.

The old MtGox ATH of $1242 was still not broken :P

I know MtGox's high was somewhat inflated because at that time it already was very difficult to cash out fiat (3 months delay ... in fact, if you cashed out in early December you probably never saw your money again). But it was the only relevant exchange in 2013, and there seems to be some resistance at that point. It may be also because of gold parity at actually $1249.

But fake or false ATH's don't count.
That's what all the diehard bitcoiner after the real ATH are saying at the very least. :-[

It's mean the price is not fake pump. But bitcoin growth with the good news and more demands. and i think bitcoin is very strong right now to get the another dip again and against the panic dump.

2017 is the year of bitcoin. We break ATH and theres more to come. Just wait for ETF to be approved by SEC. And the price will be skyrocket. Everyone is holding because of ETF hype. But once the ETF declined to approve by SEC. The price will drop again for sure. March 11 is very soon. Hope its a good news for us.

we are going to the moon but not on a rocket with fast speed. we are slowly rising up and that has been good for the past 2 or 3 years because of the strength that the buy support has each step of the way.


i wouldn't call MtGox price "somewhat inflated" because it was a big ol' pump that lead to a big ass bubble and that bubble had to burst.

Dont rush with price it this comes to end and price suddenly goes sky high then expect to see big Sky down in price like in 2014 when this first time occur. Im better price steady and slow rise without price drop then with one sudden and price comes down.

well we are there, another little jump and it will be broken also, the difference is that this rise is very strong and solid, or at least look like it is, that one was a joke and heavily manipulated

in fact it was not possible for bitcoin at that time to increase so much, it was a fluke, that coeme out because of few condition such as willy bot, doge hype etc....

ETF's will at some point become a normal thing in the world of Bitcoin as there are more ETF's in line that potentially might get approved. Right now all the attention is pointed at the Winklevoss twin's ETF, but even if it doesn't get approved, then still, there is more to come. If the price is going down as result of the decline, then don't see it as something negative, instead, use that opportunity to scoop up more coins at lower rates. The price will recover again to current levels and continue to rush further. :)

The way I look at it is that if the price breaks out, I win. If the price falls, I get another opportunity to buy some Bitcoin cheap, I win.

I'm happy either way  :D

we are rising and i hope we can never see moon in short term. the current slow rise is healthy and will stay and if we keep it up we can see good prices that never go down.


there are a couple of spikes there. but isn't it obvious? the price is always rising because of adoption and more demand. we are not yet at the mainstream level although there are some movements in that direction.

Bitcoin reach ATH because triggered by winklevoss ETF decision, people speculate how if SEC approve it which cause massive investment join in bitcoin. I like if people get used to the current price and not sell out their bitcoin due to last time we reached $1200, suddenly it dropped back again to $1150. If ETF get approval than, good bye to who has intended to dump bitcoin, so many people have planned to buy bitcoin as much as they could in order to get more profit in the next week/month/year.

if ETF is approved the massive investment is not going to join bitcoin they are going to join Winkelvoss ETF plan and it is not going to change anything about bitcoin and the demand on the marketplace!

the only thing that it can cause is other people finding out about bitcoin. and those other people don't want to invest in Winkelvoss ETF and invest in bitcoin directly that way, yeah bitcoin price can go up.

It's all speculation on the ETF that's going to either pass or not on March 11th. It's either going to be a huge day for bitcoins or just another day. Assuming the ETF doesn't pass we can expect a $200 or $300 dip, but if it does pass we'll see steady increases and down the road looking to the future we'll see even more steady increases because of all of the money flowing in.

Expect some profit taking around the 8th/9th of March.

Remember that speculators buy the rumour and then protect their profits just before the news!

If the price reaches an insane price point then I can definitely understand that certain people will cash out profits. That's why traders play this game.

But they also know that if they do sell, and the ETF does happen to get accepted, that they miss out on far greater profits. It's basically a double edged sword situation for people that cash out.

to be honest right now I really doubt that the price of the bitcoin is going to go down in just a couple of days, the bitcoin price seems to be really strong at the moment and there are some big buy orders on big prices like 1250 so there are no signs that it will go down any time soon. We are soon going to reach even higher prices than it is right now, and i wouldn't expect the growth to stop until at least 1500 dollars.

Hope so also but I would expect a correction especially with the big gaps between exchanges up to $100

I've red somewhere that the price change could have something to do with the taxes that have to be filled in in many countries next month, maybe we'll see alot of investors/traders cashing out after that, causing a large drop in price. I'm not sure.

That is the most common thinking when there is a continous price increase, doubting that bitcoin price will never experience decrease for at least days or weeks but sometimes it doesn't the real score happen. If ever $1,500 will reached and will have some same situation like the current one, then another statement that no doubt bitcoin price will not decrease will build again.

Above all of this, we must open for all the possibilities, good or bad, since news or FUDS are nothing if the community will not respond. Basically price increase are upon the respond of the community and not directly with the news itself.

I do think this is a mute point as of now since it is history now and there will keep being an ATH every hour from now on until March 11th quams it all. Depending on the outcome of the day.

I am glad to see that the price is increasing and i hope it wont crumble when the ETF is not approved and i really would be disappointed if the price breaks below the thousand dollar mark.I am enjoying the perks of my savings and i am waiting for the news to determine whether to book my profit or not,hope everything goes well.

Hope we will break more records and the price of bitcoin keeps on moving forward in the future. There is only a small possibility that the ETF will be approved this time around and if that is the case we would see some correction after the verdict.Hope it wont go down like a sliding hill. We should have a strong resistance around the thousand dollar mark.

Slowly? But the price was around $750 few weeks ago! It is true that this new rally has been consistent and gradual, but it is also clear that this 80% increase is not sustainable in the long run, so I would prefer to avoid an excessive confidence in my perspectives.

The idea that this rise is based on a solid foundation is true because of the long, steady rise beforehand.  Bitcoin's price rise right now is not sustainable of course, but it's a long shot from a pump and is genuinely based on enthusiasm for the prospect of the ETF getting approved in my opinion.

But you're right that people are setting their hopes too high.  It's nice to be optimistic about price, but some of the press are quite silent about Bitcoin's recent jump compared to in 2013.  The only thing which could get Bitcoin more exposure is clickbait journalism from people who remember all the hype in 2013.

Lots of punters have already built in their position. If you think that the ETF will get approved, it is better you get in early before the price starts rising. So the ones who are buying now are the real late entrants. I don't think the price will continuously rise till 11-Mar.

I was expecting if they will sell all of the bitcoin to take a profit at the news about SEC will release in the future. And actually this is become my main concern about the SEC approval. The final decision to take a big profit.

It would be safe to book some profits 2 to 3 days before and look how this are turning out. I think $1000 is good support for bitcoin. We have to see how market will react if ETF is rejected. Happy trading and investing guys!

I would say as well that even a drop of 300$ to the price we have today would not really stop bitcoins upwards trend.
We would still be above christmas level, and that was only 2 and a half months ago.
To me a little correction downwards would be even appreciated.
It's all moving up too fast, the bigger the bubble gets, the louder it implodes.
