Title: Peter Schiff being an idiot on national television
Post by: BillyBobZorton on March 01, 2017, 06:27:25 PM
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/27/bitcoin-bug-calls-out-peter-schiffs-gold-infatuation.html

This guy never ceases to amaze me. He has been proven wrong about his stance on bitcoin for years now. He has made potential bitcoin investors lossing on gains that could have retired them, and meanwhile he keeps shilling gold which btw keeps stagnating.

Then he goes on with the same old shit to critsize bitcoin

"it's a ponzie scam"
"beanie babies
"you guys are part of a cult"
"bitcoin is useless"
"anyone can create a cryptocurrency therefore bitcoin has no value"

This dumbass thinks a shinny piece of rock has more uses than bitcoin in the digital era. I hope gold keeps collapsing as bitcoin goes up only to see this idiot cry even more, and im holding gold too.

Let's discuss something else, the least said about Peter schiff the better. I'm done listening to doomsayers and haters, time to celebrate not to hate!

when speculators pretend to not hold bitcoin but have a negative opinion on bitcoin right at the point of bitcoin rising. its because they just sold and are now gonna fud stuff to tank the price.

never mentioning the technicals just something financial that will affect the price so they can buy in cheaper again and rinse and repeat.

soon we will see many more gold bugs(holders) talk about how bitcoin is bad and gold is good. not because their right but because they have gold and they want bitcoin and will say how great their gold is while in reality getting rid of their gold.

the best advert to sell and get rid of gold is to tell people how great gold is and offer them some to slowly get rid of what their holding

I don't notice a difference between Peter Schiff and Paul Krugman.

Those who have a mainstream media stage are usually shills or charlatans of some type pushing an agenda.

 :(

The arguments of Peter Schiff is really laughable. Especially about his mindless joke that bitcoin is "is digital fool's gold". In no case serious people could think that this tv show was resembled with a helpful debate. Those people who intend to invest in gold they will do due to their inherent fear in everything deals with technology and not because they were convinced by Schff's words. I was wondering if this guy was one of the more loyal supporters of gold as an investment what would be the others?

Peter looked like the guy who laughed at him before the 2008 crisis. BTC is the new Gold standard. As of now, $10 away from parity. Can't wait to see the lamestream cover this.

I remember when Peter introduced the CombiBar. I called it dinosaur technology at the time.

It's tough to teach an old dinosaur new tricks.

Apart from obvious idiotic statements that bitcoin is ponzi or we are part of the cult there is one fundamental difference between gold and BTC.
Bitcoin raised from zero to $1200, it almost reached gold parity, and will cross that line in near future for sure.
While gold is still worth the same, only minor price shifts happens. You can never become rich with gold, you will get what you buy.

Such fools exist and will always exist. I am sure he is just upset he never got in the early stage of Bitcoin and now seeing it's prices so high he just can't digest the fact how did he miss out on something like this. Guys like him then try and make sure that people stay away and even they don't make a profit. I bet if put to a Stern test he would not even know what a Bitcoin is except it's a currency which is rising, or my second theory is he sold at a low price and is now trying to find ways to effect the price but he doesn't understand he is failing badly and making a fool. Out of himself.

Gold will survive for sure, and I'm sure gold and bitcoin can live together very well. Bitcoin is important and gold too, I don't understand why we need to choose of them if we can have many possibilities to choose one or another anytime.
Some fools will continue blaming bitcoins, at least they are giving publicity to the crypto currencies, it can backfired.

Let us respect that man’s opinion because he is the one who is missing out on a lot of opportunities to have bitcoins. Strangely enough though, from an article that I read, a investment company that he owns is also accepting bitcoin. How about that, eh? He also speaks about merchants not really accepting bitcoin, but they still receive fiat. I think he has not the news about physical shops in Netherlands, Germany among a host of other countries that even give discounts to those who use it for their transactions. Again, this is only one man’s opinion and if he chooses to ignore bitcoin forever, it is his lost and someone else’s gain.

Ahh, the brilliance of US television. They want to debate some topic, some guy (or girl) always has to take the less attractive position to debate. Schiff got that chance. Also, Schiff is a gold peddler, which is being directly competed with by Bitcoin as a commodity or asset class. Of course the guy is going to say "bitcoin is no gold!" He can only lose by saying the opposite!

Peter Schiff is scared. He wants to protect his investment in gold, by spreading FUD about Bitcoin. The more FUD being spread about Bitcoin, will in his mind cause a bigger investment in gold and a higher profit for him. Bitcoin has been the best performing commodity/currency in 2016 and this is a threat to Gold bugs.

Bitcoin has been used as a Safe haven in countries where there have been "currency" issues and it has proven that it was more effective than gold.

We are a cult? Since when is Bitcoin a religion?

He looks like a very angry man that is still in complete denial.  I reckon that he has created the delusion in his head that bitcoin  is all of the things he says it is to deal with the fact that he missed out on big gains over the last number of years.  will Peter if you read this there is still time to get on board.

In my opinion Peter Schiff was a victim of 2013 bubble on bitcoins price. He probably lose a significant amount of capital due to the great decrease on bitcoins value. And right now having those bad experience with bitcoin he has invested in gold and with good intentions in mind he warns other people to stay away to bitcoin so they will not suffer the same fate he has when the bitcoin bubble popped.

I wonder if he would adjust his stance after, say, 5 years when the prices have gone up even more.
And does he think all crypto-currencies are the same as Bitcoin? Some altcoins have even more real-world applications than Bitcoin (Ethereum, GRID, etc.), so I fail to see where he's coming from when he says that Bitcoin has no value...

You cannot compare gold and bitcoin.Gold is a physical commodity and is being traded for centuries and bitcoin is a virtual commodity and with time we can define what the real value of bitcoin and i would say it is too early to determine about a commodity which is traded only a few years.I hearing this name for the first time so i dont bother what he says .

This must be the catch phrase in the Gold bug community ---> Bitcoin "is digital fool's gold"  ;D ;D ... How much disruption has Gold brought to

the financial industry? How many people has died in their pursuit for Gold? { In gold mines mining for gold } How environment friendly is the

process to mine and extract gold from the ground, compared to Bitcoin?  :o

Now that gold has officially surpassed the price of gold is going to be even more fun making fun of him. Let's not forget that this guy told everyone to not buy bitcoin when bitcoin was for months around the 150-250 USD price range. With that advice, he has made a lot of people lose on all of the gains we are seeing... that's what happens when you listen to a delusional goldbug.
